Happy Valentine's Day sweet sistas!

Love you all, my sistas!

It felt pretty good to sleep in my own bed last night.  I love the travel, but I love to come home.  (At least I would if my home were CLEAN!)  Butch and I are literally counting the days until we have our house back.  Y'all just wouldn't believe the state of my house after I've been gone most of the last two weeks.  Truly, you wouldn't.  I just don't even know where to begin with the clean up.

But today I have to clean up the RV.  We were so tired when we got in last night, we just parked it at the storage center and left it as is.  So today I have to go back and clean and vacumn and strip the sheets, etc.  The only thing I cleaned out yesterday was the frig.  I like to leave my house clean and that includes the RV now I guess.  LOL!

Got my weekly appointment at the Wound Care Center this afternoon.  I'm not looking forward to it.  Doctor already told me last week that he would need to do some debridement this week.  He's going to "open" up the top again (before it can close), so that the bottom has time to continue healing upwards.  Sounds unpleasant to me.

We are picking up the boys at preschool/day care today.  Mike and Chris are both working this evening, but shouldn't be too late.  I really don't mind babysitting on Friday nights because it's not a school night and I don't have to worry overly much about bedtimes and baths and things.

We brought the boys some tees and caps back from South Padre.  I bought Benny a little pack of seashells and he loves them.  He takes them out one by one and we discuss what might have lived in the shell.  I'm running out of creatures!  This morning I was down to "slug-a-bugs" and "bugga-boos"!  I guess I need to brush up on sea creatures.

I guess this is the first Valentine's Day in 32 years that Butch and I haven't at least exchanged cards, but we were both so wiped out last night, we agreed that we would just skip it this year.  I did get a sweet kiss and an "I love you" this morning!

Y'all remember a while back, I got a phone call from some little Pakistani dude trying to convince me that I had won $30K from Publisher's Clearing House?  So yesterday I get another phone call, same little Pakistani dude (or someone just like him), telling me that the government wanted to give me a $9K grant to go back to school.  Where do these yokels come from???  (And how did they get my number?)

We really enjoyed our trip to South Padre Island and we LIKE our RV!  But we didn't like the gas mileage we got towing it.  OMG.  We got about 5 miles to the gallon!!!  Our truck is a big one (F250), but it's several years old.  Butch is talking about us buying a new one.  Holy cow.  He says we need a diesel (I hate diesels!  Stinky, smelly, loud things) with 4x4 and a bigger engine.  I think he's developed truck fever!  He went all over that KOA campground looking at different rigs and what other people were driving.  I asked him how we were going to pay for that new truck???  This is going to be interesting.

But we are already talking about taking our next trip in March.  We are so excited!  We will go somewhere close by in March again.  Within 6 hours' drive, which in Texas means someplace local.  LOL!  But then in May we plan to take off to explore other states.  Still not sure where we're going to go, but plan to be gone around 6 weeks.

Let's see, we're meeting the realtor on Sunday to go over the "new" house again and make some decisions.  I'll keep y'all up to date on that story for sure.  I reminded Butch again this morning that he needs to make this deal work out!!!  In less than a month we could have our privacy back!

Carrie (oldest daughter) says that she can come the first weekend of Spring Break and help with the move--assuming there is a move.  I have stated uncategorically that Butch and I will NOT be moving boxes and furniture this time around.  We will babysit the boys, but that's it.  We told Chris and Mike to start making arrangements now to have their friends on standby for that weekend.  Chris said they would buy pizza for everyone.  I told her if she wants the guys to help, she'd better buy pizza and BEER!  LOL!

Well, sistas, I hope you each have a lovely day.  Have a bite of chocolate today.  I plan to have a chocolate covered strawberry myself!  Love you all!

Good morning Vickie and everyone....

"Happy Valentine's Day" all you lovely ladies/friends!!!!

Vickie...I know what you mean about sleeping in your own bed. There just isn't anything like it is there!!

Why can't Chris and Mike clean up after themselves? How will they be able to take care of  "your house" that they live in? They are not teenagers anymore. Sorry.....none of my business.

You must have been tired after your  trip to not unpack. I  know how you are....just like me!! I am glad you took it easy and listened to your body. You are still recovering. The house and RV can wait. Just do a little at a time.

WOW...five miles to the gallon...YIKES!!! Maybe you do need a more fuel efficient truck!! Good luck with that!!

Praying the appointment at the Wound Care Center goes well. I know how much you want this to be over with.

I am sure Benny and Reese will be happy to spend some time with you and Butch tonight. I bet they really missed you. Hope you can post a pic of them in their new shirts and hats!

I can't wait to hear about your next trip, especially the one you will be going on in May!!!

Good luck with the realtor on Sunday!! I pray it all works out!!

YUM....chocolate covered strawberries....what a great Valentines treat!!

As for me....I am doing okay. Feeling a little stronger every day. I am still sleeping a lot though. Good thing or I would be doing too much!! Please continue to keep my Gracie in your prayers as she is still battling with Pneumonia.

Wishing you all a happy day!! Prayers for many of our awesome OFF family. Special prayers for those who need them most.

Much love and bunches of hugs....connie d

For the last few weeks, I have not been able to post and today, it works.  yeah.   Vickie, I am like you in terms of needing to move kids out for the sake of sanity.  My son and his family lived with us for months and his wife just let the kids tear the house up and when I would get home from work, there would be dirty dishes, toys, dirty diapers, and worse every where.   They lived with us from July until Jan. and in that time, my sweet little grandson use a knife on our sofa, colored our walls with magic markers, and broke our DVD player, so I know what you mean about loving them but needing them gone.

When you decide to investigate other states, head up to Arkansas and we can visit Eureka Springs, Hot Springs, Devil's Den and a ton of other places in these wonderful Ozark Mts.   We got our grand kids a package of sea shells when we were in St. Petes a few years back and our middle grandson was about two or three, so we had to do like you guys and tell him what lived in those shells.   My husband being from the coast knew all the sea creatures so he was able to get the right shell with the right creature. LOL.  I was saying oh, a snail or oh a troll. LOL.  Glad you had a good time and happy you are home.

Happy Valentines Day Sweet OFF Sisters,

I just got home from an appointment at the pain center, where I got a rhizotomy.  Colleen drove me, because I had mild sedation.  We then went to Sam's, where I ate, and she shopped.  On the way home, Frankie started getting cranky, Colleen dropped me off at her house with him, because she still had errands to do.  When she got home, she forgot she had to drive me home, and put Frankie down for his nap.  I walked home, which was not far.  It was invigorating.  It's 27 degrees outside, but it feels like a heatwave to us here.

Now, I am exhausted, and have chores to do.

I have to ice my back for the next week, where they did the rhizotomy.  So, in a little while, I'll put my ice pack in the freezer, and do some chores, then sit and rest again.

Love to all.

Hugs,

Trish
