Good morning Carla and my beautiful OFF sistas!
Carla, so glad you made it home safely! I wish you could just rest and relax for a few days!
Boy, what a night we had! Our heater went out in the middle of a very cold night! Can you say C-U-D-D-L-E??? LOL! Our propane tank ran out of gas. Fortunately, we have 2 tanks on this RV and Butch switched them this morning and we warmed back up. Got to get more propane today.
Then we got the inspection report on the "new" house. Uh oh. So many problems. We knew it would have some problems--the house is almost 30 years old. We made our offer based on the assumption that we would be making repairs, but Butch says there's at least $10K more repairs than we already figured. **** We are meeting the realtor on Sunday to go over the house with the inspection report in hand, and then we'll figure out which way to proceed. We can renegotiate the price, ask the seller to make the repairs, or just walk away from the deal. Darn it. I am so disappointed. We'll just have to see what happens.
Today we are going to Bass Pro Shop in Harlingen for Butch to shop and maybe spend his $1000 gift certificate he got from retirement. He says he just can't decide if he wants a new gun or something else. Should be a fun trip. I love Bass Pro Shop!
The sun is shining again today, but it's still pretty chilly. Doubt we go to the beach again today. I want to go out to eat tonight. It's time for some seafood again! Last night we stayed in and had frito pie for our dinner. LOL! It was either that or mac n cheese. I didn't pack a lot of food for this trip. LOL!
Love you all! Thinking about all of you this week.
I love Bass Pro Shop! I get a lot of our Camping gear there!
There is ine about 80 miles south of me.
Camping gear for this year is going to be some new chairs.
Good luck getting the sellers to pay for the added repairs. I think if the inspector finds added stuff they r obliged to pay! It is part of the deal. I know when we sold a house and they found something on the inspection pur lawyer told us in order to sell the house we either had to gibe an allowance or fix it before the deal closed or not sell it til it was fixed!

Hi Carla and Vickie and my OFF family:
I feel so much better today after 10 hours of sleep. Funny what a good night's sleep and the chiropractor can do. My neck feels so good ... back was a little tight yet, but the icepack took care of that.
So today we're taking it easy. Got laundry going and salsa chicken in the slow cooker. I even washed my afghan that I use on my recliner in the living room. I'm feeling so good I may go out later after laundry is done and pick up my sunglasses and pick up a couple things at the grocery store (but not Walmart).
I was watching the Olympics but then the station (NBCSN) switched to soccer ... forgot to change the station. I'll get it back on a little later. Got to catch up on General Hospital. It'll be the same stuff on tonight anyway. Watched the figure skating on and off so I missed some of the good skaters.
Anyway, it warmed up to 35 here today and sunny. Much nicer.
Vickie, hope you figure out what to do with the house. Having only purchased the one condo (and it didn't need much work, just some outlets updated), I can't tell you much ... I'm pretty clueless on this and don't plan to buy ever again because my job isn't stable enough. I'll be a renter for the rest of my days. When I thought I had a stable job and bought the condo, then I got laid off and had to move again. So it's not for me.
Carla, you are one traveling woman. Glad you enjoyed your time withe Miss Vinnie.
Good Afternoon Carla, Vickie and my OFF Family,
I just got home from the funeral luncheon at church. What a sad, emotional funeral. After a prayer, they showed two videos, one made by Jessi's brother, and one made by Trent's brother. The background songs for both were so fitting, yet sad. I had posted the one Jessi's brother made on Facebook on Sunday. After the videos, Trent's cousin, who had married Toby and Jessi, gave the message. He was so honest, and shared about a time when a very close friend died suddenly while they had taken their youth group on a trip. He shared how hard it was to talk to God for a while. He also said it's okay to be upset that God didn't heal her. He gave the example of how Martha was upset that Jesus had not come to them, when her brother, Lazarus was dying. He also mentioned that even Jesus wept then, seeing their pain of his death.
The church was packed. I'd only seen such a large gathering of people there at a wedding in July, and a funeral in June. I normally help in the kitchen during funeral luncheons, but had told the Deaconess who organize them, I wouldn't be able to this time. I never saw so much food before. There were two kinds of baked chicken, baked ham, potatoes au gratin, baked beans, salad, rolls, butter, 12 different sheet cakes, 12 dozen cookies, two fruit plates, coffee, lemonade and ice water, for 300-400 people. Plus, all of my daughter's in-laws, and Jessi's family were given food to take home, which the ladies packaged, and put in a separate room for them.
When I got to church, Colleen was just leaving the nursery, after heating a bottle for baby Hunter. At the beginning of the funeral, I heard him cry, but it stopped fast. After the funeral, Toby went straight to the nursery with him, and pretty much stayed there, with his Mom, and aunt, and a couple of cousins. Toward the end of the luncheon, he did make his way to see a few relatives. On my way out, I stopped by Jessi's parents' table to introduce myself to her brother, and let him know how special she was. He acknowledged that Jessi and Colleen were very close.
Isabel didn't come to the funeral, but one of Colleen's friends went to where all the cousins were being babysat, because she was originally supposed to come to the luncheon. But, it turns out that the friend who was watching the kids was making a birthday cake for one of her kids, and Izzy was helping her, and didn't want to join us. The kids were having a blast there.
My house looks like a bomb hit it, and I have to go back out in a few minutes. I'll check back in when I get back.
Hugs,
Trish
