Groundhogs Day

Good Morning Family,

I'm hoping today the Groundhog tells us Spring is right around the corner.  I try not to complain, but so far, we've gotten 42+ inches of snow, 12 more than the average.  They're predicting more this week.

I didn't tell the whole story about the cupcakes, when the Munchkins and I sang "Happy Birthday" to my Christopher.  When he blew out the candles, on Facetime, he offered the kids some of the cupcakes.  I could have shot him through the iPad screen.  Later, he texted, and apologized to me, asking me to buy the kids some cupcakes.  So, I made a bat*****luding my homemade buttercream frosting, and took them over to Colleen.  Chris had already told her what he did.  So, when the kids were eating their cupcakes, they did Facetime with him, and offered him some, and then laughed and said, "Too bad."  When Colleen told me that, I roared.  I'm so glad they are developing the sense of humor that my kids grew up with.  One of my best memories is family times with lots of laughter, especially when my brothers were alive.  Praise God, all three of my kids grew tender hearts, and good senses of humor.

Today, I'm making a salad and pie to take to Colleen's to watch the Super Bowl.  I'm looking forward to the commercials, more than anything.  I already posted my all time favorite on Facebook.  It's the Budweiser "Puppy Love" one.  Google it, and you'll see why.

One of my neighbors came over again yesterday, and used his snowblower on my driveway and sidewalk again.  I need to think of some  way of thanking him after Winter is over.  He says he likes doing it.  I told him I'm grateful.  I try to keep up with the snow, but this Winter is like no other I've experienced.

Prayers and love,

Trish

She doesn't know why this injury hasn't been taken care of after it happened but she is going after this horse today!!!! She needs help...donations...she does a fantastic job of helping these rescues also!!! Good morning Trish, Judy and everyone.....

Trish....glad you made the cupcakes. It sounds like everyone had fun!! Very nice of the neighbor to do your driveway. The puppy commercial is just so sweet. Budweiser always has the best commercials at the Super Bowl.

Judy....so glad your boss is coming and handling that situation with the dingbat!! Congrats on winning at Bingo! I wish I could help with the horse rescue. It is a good cause. My budget is just too tight right now. Sorry! Living on disability is not easy.

I am not planning anything bu****ching the Super Bowl later. I remember how fun it was going to the Super Bowl parties and such. Oh well, I will enjoy it myself. I just don't go out anymore. I am liking my life now!!

Wishing you all a beautiful day!! Prayers for many of you wonderful OFF friends.

Much love and bunches of hugs....connie d

Good morning Trish and Judy and my OFF sistas!

Oh, dear, that dumb groundhog!  Really?  6 more weeks of winter?  I don't think that's going to be a very popular groundhog today!

I am trying to work up some enthusiasm for this trip to Nacogdoches today, but here I sit at the computer, not packing.  It's cold and RAINING and I really don't want to budge.  But Butch says he is ready to get out of here.  I think I would rather stay put and travel tomorrow.  I looked at the 5 day weather forecast and it's not going to be a pretty week, either here or in Nacogdoches.  Sigh.  I need some SUNSHINE.

I also looked at the 10 day forecast for South Padre Island and I don't think we're going to hit very pretty weather there either.  Cloudy and highs in the 60's?  Ugh.  I want sunny warm days!

Oh, well, if wishes were horses . . .

I guess I'd better get a move on.  Love you all!

Hi Vickie....weather conditions or not you need to get away!! I agree about the sunshine....I am so missing it!!

I hope it is only 6 more weeks of winter...it tends to stay colder longer here....so darn much snow and ice....grrrrrr!! Sounds like we will be getting dumped on again real soon. UGH!!! A whopping 11 degrees today...feels like -9....that is good for us!! The sun is shining too!!!

Have a great day!!!

Love and many hugs to you....connie d

Hi Everyone - Happy Groundhog Day.  Anyone have a recipe for groundhog stew?  The Little Bugger is on my hit list!

Thanks for the tips re night-time snacking.  Have to get that under contol.  I see my PCP next month for my monthly vivit.  On that note. I have to talk to him about my insurance requirement of a 12-month supervised diet.  He was my PCP for several years, but about a year and a half ago I changed to a nearby doctor so I didn't have to travel to the city.  While at the new doctor's office I saw a nutritonist.  Then ended up returning to my current PCP in August.  I see him every month as he is weaning me off of some heavy-duty pain medication.  He has be encouraging me for years to have WLS.  He hasn't had me on a "formal" diet - but I have lost 50 pounds in the past year and a half.  We discuss my weight at every appointment.  Had I known about the insurance requirement, I would have mentioned it to him before.  So I'm going to ask him to write a letter stating I've been under his care, and I've been weighed at all visits, and I've lost weight, and saw a nutritionist - tried calorie counting, atkins, My Fitness Pal, Intuitive Eating, etc.  Hope this wil be enough.  Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?

Taylor is here until Tuesday night - her mother misses her already.  These little ones need a lot of attention - very tiring.  Vickie - Kudos to you - you're a real trooper!  After WLS I'm sure I'll have more energy - but right now I'm dragging!  Oh well, she's such a joy to have around.  Always makes me laugh.

I actually have the heat turned down - it's great.  Tomorrow we'll be going out to Big Lots or Walmart - promised Taylor a surprise, and also a Happy Meal.  Looking forward to getting to the store.  Always need something!

Good Day to all !

Still learning.  Currently in pre-op stage.

Hi Mary.....I agree with you...get the letter from your doctor. That will help your insurance company make a good decision for you. They can see all you have done and how hard you are working now and in the past. Congrats on losing the 50 pounds...that is great!!

Remind your grandaughter that grandma's aren't like mommies....they get tired so much faster. Find quiet things to do together too!! Yes, they do tend to wear us out!!! They sure are priceless!!

Love and hugs....connie d
