Cold Wednesday Even In Florida!!!!!

It is afternoon and noone has started the thread! I didnt sleep last night. Not sure why.
Im gearing up to flying to Chicago next week to help Carl drive back home! Plus Im missing Vinnie.
It is cold here in the Tampa Bay area! I think we r getting a trickle of the cold from up north!
Well my coffee is calling me!

Good Afternoon Carla and OFF Family,
I just got home from my iron infusion. It takes hours, because they have to give me pre-meds, because I have asthma. Steroids and Benadryl in an IV. Then, the actual iron. Thank God I could watch TV, and read my Facebook stuff while I sat there. I saw that nobody had posted yet, but can't post from my iPhone.
After I eat some lunch, I have a ton of laundry to do. I stripped my bed, and have my flannel sheets, blanket and comforter to wash. I also have a sink full of dishes to wash.
The kids here don't have school again. Dangerous wind chills this morning. Not that they're much higher this afternoon. That means the children's program at church is also canceled. It's the policy. When Izzy's school district cancels, the church cancels the kids' program.
Must scoot.

Carla, I cruise out of Tampa in December. I did two 5 days with Bill and a 4&5 day with my sister. In between each we had to go back into Tampa. That put me in Tampa five times and three of those were really cold.
These last two 7 day cruised out of Miami it was pretty cold for FL two out of the three days there.
But you still are 30/40 degrees warmer here. Going back to take another hot bath, I'm not up to this cold at all. I want to be back in the Caribbean.
They are talking about Saturday school days here to make up for all the lost time here in Michigan with ice storms, snow and cold days off.
BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
Heat wave today...got up to 14*!!!!!!!!!!!! Back down to 10* right now...heard talk of new snow storm...could see maybe 18 inches!!!!!!!! YES 18 inches!!!!!!!!!! I asked a police officer today if he heard anything on that and he said why do you think they are making everyone get their cars off the streets so they can clear the snow????? OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Calling for rain this weekend...please pray we do not flood!!!!!!!!
Had a tenant fall today and hit her head hard...she is also a bleeder...lost a lot of blood while waiting for the squad!!!!! OMG!! They were on another call and so the officer had to help til the fire department arrived...then the squad got here and finally took her to hospital right away!!!! Not sure why she fell...maybe they fought over her medications??? The people she had over her place are her druggie friends...and I told the officer that after she was in the ambulance. I told him I reported them several times and NOTHING was ever done!!! She reports her medications "stolen" but she sells them!!!!! I tell you people around here think I am stupid!!
Well its almost time for me to go back outside to lock up for the night...sighs...seems like each time I get warmed up I have to go back out again!!!

This cold is awful. Ground Hog Day coming -- better show we're going to have an early Spring -- or else they better stuff the damn thing!
Connie - I used to have to go to a pain clinic for my medication. It was awful - my PCP would not write my prescriptions. Every trip to the clinic was an ordeal -- no matter what time your appointment was, you could expect to ait two hours, at least. I'd see the doctor for about 30 seconds. Then one day the clinic was suddenly shut down - no notice to anyone. Luckily, due to the cir****tances, my PCP is writing my scripts - but have to go every month to pick up the "written prescription" because they can't be renewed and can't be faxed to pharmacy. Also had to sign "the Agreement", PCP is trying to wean me off the meds I was on - I was taking very high doses. I'm hoping WLS will help reduce the pain somewhat. I started "falling apart" about two years ago.......one problem became two, and so on.
Carla - what airline do you fly on?? I want to buy stock!! Seems like you're always coming and going. I haven't been on a plane in about 10 years. I want to fly to California to visit my brother - but won't go until I can fit in a seat, without a belt extender.

Bringing up the rear tonight, but that's okay. We had a very productive day and I'm glad to be home. We're going to bed in short order because we missed our naps today. LOL!
So, I am so excited. We are going to take a little trip in the RV in just two weeks. I told Butch that I just really, really need to get away from here for a few days and he agreed. I mean, it's been a rough 8 weeks, you know? I am give out dealing with my health and the kids and everything. So is he. We decided to go to South Padre Island for a few days. Lots and lots of "winter Texans" go there each year. It's almost always warm there (think the same climate as south Florida) and we are hoping for some really nice weather to break up the middle of February blahs. We'll leave on Sunday, Feb 9th and come back on Thursday, Feb 13th. Would like to stay longer, but with the kids and all, we figured we'd better not stay gone too long this first time out. The babysitter will be new, and we want to make sure all of that is working okay before we stay gone longer.
We drove into San Antonio this afternoon. Stopped at a couple of places, including Sams Club. Butch finally got an adjustment on his new hearing aids! I hope he will start wearing them now. If not, we are going to return them. They cost too damn much money for him to just leave them sitting in a drawer.
Stopped at Outback Steakhouse for supper instead of battling the 5 o'clock traffic jams. I ate very little, and still my tummy hurt! Dammit. But I got over it in about 20 minutes after I was able to get in the car and lean the seat back. I tried some tummy massage and that seemed to help.
Oh, and I have to report my NSV for the day. We stopped at Academy because I wanted to buy some new "fishing" pants. The last time I bought fishing pants at Academy (lots of pockets and zippers, etc.) was before WLS and I had to buy a men's size 4X. Tonight I bought a men's size XL. I could have bought the size L, except my lower abdomen is still too big and poochy, especially after this last round of surgery. I can't stand anything tight against my incision. I also bought a men's fishing shirt in size M! I told Butch, "My tummy's too big and my titties are too small!" I'm an odd looking duck these days, but I don't care how many different sizes I am all over. I'm happy.
Well, I hope the cold will let up a bit soon. I'm with you, Mary: the groundhog had better not see his shadow! And Piney, South Padre is as close to the Caribbean as I can manage this year, but I agree with you. We should all pack up and move there, at least until hurricane season arrives!

Saw your post where you mentioned Florida....I live in SE Florida outside Fort Lauderdale and 60* is so cold for me but over the weekend the temps back up to the 80's! The cold front that came yesterday, didn't really come down to south FL...Got some good rain, which we needed but abit too cold with all these Arctic blasts going on. 
Tampa does get cold or anywhere above West Palm Beach gets cold. My son lives in Orlando and my brother and family live in Tampa.

I live in Bradenton. Thst is 40 miles sputh of the Tampa airpiort. I drove down to Ft Lauderdale all the time. Going down on the 6th as my friend is watching my dog while i go to Chicago. Im flying outnof ft Laudetdale on the 7th. My friend lives in Plantation. I want to move there!
My husband and I moved to Florida six years ago frim Colorado.
