OK...so its Saturday and we have SNOW. Blowing and Drifting SNOW!!!!!!!!! Drifts 3-4 feet high!!!!!!! Tenants calling me letting me know they have leaks from their vents over the stove and in their bathrooms...one even called me to let me know she hasn't got her mail since Tuesday!!! OK...what would you like me to do?? We are at a LEVEL 3 and are not supposed to go out unless its an EMERGENCY. We can't do anything about the leaks in the vents...the blowing snow is coming in them causing them to leak...your mail can wait. Do you know my patio is drifted in??? Yes I know that. So is ours and MANY others. They are out TRYING to clear them now...OMG people...these tenants have lived here for MANY years and have gone through this MANY times WHY are they calling me like this???????? Do they think we do NOT KNOW????????? As for the one not getting her mail since Tuesday...WTH?? There was not reason to wait that long to get it...why call me TODAY about it?? I am NOT in the office today!!!!!!!!! Mail is NOT an EMERGENCY nor part of OUR job to get it to you. Not even 9:30 am yet and I have a headache. Then Rick's mother has been calling him since before 8 wanting to know if we were getting any of this snow like she is...WTH?????????? Watch the news woman!!!!!!!!! I finally answered his phone so she would STOP CALLING!!!!!!!!! GEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Aren't you all glad I started the thread today??????? HAHA

Had BINGO yesterday for the tenants and it was so cold only 2 showed up. Still had it...oh well...I made Swedish Meatballs with Noodles. They loved it. Lots let over. Pat had a dr appointment so he got most of what was left to take home. Rick doesn't like burger meat so I left enough for me. His loss.

Memorial service was last night for Wendy. I made my Cheesy Potatoes for the dinner. OMG there was so much food!!!! Huge turn out also. After the dinner Carol took out the flowers and passed them out to family members...then she came to me and gave me one...brought tears to my eyes...she said this is to thank you for being there for me in my time of need. Well what are friends for? Then Ken (Wendy's husband) came over to me and said that Carol told him that I was making a donation to my horse rescue in Wendy's name. He said Wendy loved horses and she would have loved that!!! Great!!!! And he also told me they found out what caused he to die...she had an aneurism. So it was sudden and she didn't suffer. He is handling it a lot better now and so is Carol. So Wendy...REST IN PEACE SWEETIE!!!! We will miss you!!!!

Good morning Judy and everyone....

Judy....Oh my what a fun  time you are having!! Those tenants must think they are the only one you need to be concerned about. Good Grief!! I wouldn't want your headaches for all the world. I could never be an apartment manager. Too many headaches!! Good luck....prayers on the way!! So glad the memorial service for Wendy went well. It sounds like there was a good turnout. That was so sweet of you to bring food. At least Carol and Ken appreciated all you have done. I am glad that Wendy went quickly and she didn't suffer. That must be a great relief for Carol and Ken. I know you will miss Wendy. God Bless.

I am continuing to do as little as possible today. Tomorrow Kyleigh will be coming back to St Cloud with the rest of her things. I will be meeting her and her dad at her apartment. I will try to help Kyleigh get it all arranged. I will be doing more directing then anything!!

One of the other ladies here and I started a new puzzle last night. We were having so much fun we lost track of time!! That is so healthy for me. I could do puzzles in my apartment. I think it is better for me to get out and join the others. Good socialization!!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!! Prayers for many of our amazing OFF family!

Love and bunches of hugs to all....connie d

Hi Connie!  We were posting at the same time.  I'm SO GLAD you moved there.  Having friends and working puzzles together is exactly what you needed.  I like to work puzzles too, but obviously can't do that right now with toddlers in the house.  Maybe after they move out I'll start one.

Wish we could visit today!  Why you got to live so far away???

Good morning Judy and my OFF sistas!

Oh, Judy, it's like you're the nanny of a bunch of toddlers!  Old folks just want to talk to someone about the weather all the time.  My mom is like that.  She'll call and we'll spend half our time discussing the weather.

As for your friend, my dad had an aneurysm when he was in his mid-40's.  They told us it was inoperable and that he wouldn't survive it, but he did.  They are very unpredictable and sometimes they do kill immediately.  Sometimes they don't.  And there's no predicting who will have one unless a person would just happen to have an MRI a few days before they burst.  So no guilt.  It was time for her to go home to Heaven.

So today is what Butch and I have begun calling "Challenge Saturday".  Both Chris and Mike work all day, and we have the boys all day.  But thank goodness, SIL Lisa is going to come down from Austin to spend the day with us helping out.  I told Chris she needs to find a babysitter for Saturdays.  Butch and I both slept for several hours yesterday afternoon.  Neither one of us are back to normal yet and we get so tired.  We just don't have the energy to keep up with the boys for more than a couple of hours at a time.

I think we are meeting the Realtor tomorrow to look at a couple more houses, but pickin's are slim right now.  We are still waiting for the foreclosure house to come back to the auction website.  I will check it every day.  We all kind of have our hearts set on that one.

We are sunny and warming back up today.  Snow is all gone.  Benny is so confused.  He keeps asking me about it.  LOL!

Butch is making waffles and bacon for breakfast and it smells so good.  I'm trying to think how to justify eating a hot waffle dripping with butter and syrup!  Ha!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday.  Love you all!

Vic...happy that you and Butch are getting better!!! You both need time alone though to get ALL the way better!!!! Hell move out to the 5th wheel if need be!!! I would!!! Its nice and roomy for two people that need rest!!!! Hope you find a place for those kids soon!!!! And why if you don't mind my asking...aren't they renting an apartment now??? Aren't they making enough money working? If not doesn't she qualify for help with food stamps etc? I sure would check into it so you have your life back!!! Don't mean to step into where I don't belong but just saying...

So far we have had two trucks try to drive in here and BOTH got stuck in the drift that is about 4 foot high!!! We are still LEVEL 3 and NOT supposed to be out at all!!!!!! So WTH????? I see where Rick has snowblowed and it is covered right back over again...losing battle!!!! Yet they come out to do their laundry!!!!!!!! WHY??????????? IDIOTS!!!!!!!! The world is full of them and they all live here!!!!!!!! Sighs........

OK enjoy your day and rest some more...

Hi Vickie....yes I do love living here...I feel very blessed!!

I agree...Chris and Mike need to find a Saturday sitter. Be firm. You and Butch need to have your healing time. They need to be more responsible for their children. You guys just can't do it....PERIOD! They at least need to be working opposite shifts on Saturdays. I am sure their boss will help them out. If not there are friends to count on. Not everyone works every Saturday. Good Luck!! I worry about you and Butch. God has you slowing down for a reason!! Thank goodness Lisa is coming to the rescue!! God Bless you all!!

I am still praying that that house works out and you get the one you want.

I giggled with Benny's snow and no snow adventure. I am sure he misses it. All children love snow!! Send him here. He will have a blast!! Our snow is WAY over his head. He could be sledding, ice skating, building snowmen, having snowball fights, and making snow angels....you get the picture!! LOL!!!

Waffles and bacon sounds so good!! I never eat it but when the kids are around I make it for them. Love the smell!! Butch is a keeper that's for sure...but then....so are you!

Try to relax and let Lisa help. Rest as you can...Butch too!

Love and lots of hugs....connie d

Good Afternoon Judy, Connie, Vickie and OFF Family,

Judy, your tenants remind me of my grandchildren.  Wow!  Actually, my grandchildren are better behaved it seems, when it comes to taking care of themselves.  I'm glad that Wendy did not suffer.  My mother-in-law had a brain aneurysm leak, and they fixed her, but we almost lost her in 1996.  She and her husband were traveling in Florida when my husband got the call to come down there.  She then had to have a shunt put in to drain water on her brain.  Mom had a double aortic aneurysm repaired years ago.  Now, they say she has another.  They say it's genetic, so I get checked out now and then.

Connie, I'm so glad you have new friends, and you're being involved socially in your new apartment.  That's the perfect medicine for you.  I'm also happy your granddaughter is close by.  I know how much you cherish your family.

Vickie, I hope you have good luck with the house hunt.  I understand wanting to help the kids get on their feet financially.  I also know how hard it is for families working low paying jobs to support themselves.  I hope you are able to rest today.  I know how exhausting the grandchildren can be.  I had one Saturday before Christmas with Frankie, where he got sick, and I spent the day holding him, and snuggling him.

I'm going to spend today cleaning out my spare bedroom.  It's a disaster area.  I have some Christmas stuff to take downstairs, and some organizing.  I've been here a year, and I finally figured out what to do with my sheets and towels.  I need to get some hanging sweater holders, the kind you put on the closet rod, and has those shelves.  But, first, I have to get into the closet, which is blocked.  I also have some catching up to do on my Bible study.  We started on Tuesday, and I'm behind in my homework.  I hate started off behind, but that's what happens when I'm out everyday.

Has anyone heard any word about Annette?  I wasn't on Facebook much yesterday.  I'm praying she's getting stronger.

Hugs, Trish

Hi Trish...don't over do it cleaning that room. Take your time. Hope you get to the closet and can get everything in there you need. I always feel so much better when things are organized.

I haven't heard any news from Annette. I haven't been on Facebook yet today. I was busy with the ladies!! We have two puzzles set up now and also making a quilt in the community room. Lots happening all the time!! I hope we hear something more about Annette soon!! God Bless her! I am praying for her all the time.

Have a blessed day...hugs and love....connie d
