Thursday Afternoon

Wow, it's just about 1:00, and I'm the first one posting.

Babysat Frankie this afternoon.  Fun stuff always.  Did NOT read "Go Dog, Go," this time.  He did have me read a board book about baby animals.  It has photos, not drawings.  He likes the dog, cat, monkey, rooster, horse, and baby chicks.  He can say, "Meow," "Ruff Ruff," and he snorts like a pig.  He is such a happy boy, and I am never bored when I'm with him.

I have chores to do, and I just stopped to check in, and eat some lunch.

Hugs,

Trish

Good afternoon Trish and everyone.....

Trish....you just emit happiness when you speak of your grandchildren!!! They are the greatest gift!! Frankie is growing so fast. He can speak now and sounds like such a happy boy! I am so glad you get to spend time with them!!!

As for me...NOTHING today....not one thing planned. I should do laundry...NOPE!! Yesterday I was running around too much. I need to take this time for me!! I am so blessed that I can!

Time for lunch for me too. Calico beans with added ground turkey and bacon....YUM!!! I make a huge batch and keep portions of it in my freezer. I don't have it all the time but it is a good treat now and then!!

Wishing you all a beautiful day!!!

Prayers for so many of our OFF friends in need. I am really concerned about Judy. I hope she can post a bit today. How about Eileen ...where is she?? Also Vickie??? So many missing again right now. Special prayers for our sister Annette. I hope she is out of the hospital soon. I am not sure why she had to go back in again. Jennifer I know is waiting for news. I wish her the very best.

Love and many hugs to all....connie d

Hi Trish and Connie:

I'm here but sometimes I just don't feel like posting. sorry. Days I go to work I just don't have the time. The past two days I was off and just didn't feel like posting at all. Not depressed, just feel like cocooning. I lurk, though, and read when I can.

Yesterday I got the rest of my Christmas stuff down and put away, then vacuumed. Let me tell you, if you want to warm up, that's the way to do it. I was sweating. I had to unclog the hose twice from all the cat hair and little pieces of cardboard from the scratching boxes. It's been cold here, so I stayed inside all day, didn't even go out for the mail.

Today it's 13 degrees but feels like -3.

Well, that's all that's going on. Take it easy and stay warm. I have to go out in this and go to work.

Hi Eileen.... I am so to see you post today. I was getting worried. I always look forward to hearing from you!!

I understand the wanting to just cocoon for a few days. I am heading to my couch soon!! My comfy down comforter and pillow. Going to watch whatever I want to watch on Demand.

So happy that your Christmas things are all down and put away for another year!

Sorry you have to go out in the cold for work....brrrrrrrrr!! I am so glad I don't work at a regular job anymore. I have been helping Pam trying to get some of her mom's paperwork in order since she passed away a year ago!! I only do a couple hours a week depending on how I am feeling.  She brings it to me and I work as I can.

Have a good evening!!

Love and many hugs to you....connie d

Hi There,

On  different note today, Did u guys see TLC My 600 Pond Life? Penny's Story? She has the sleeve done lost 35 pounds to prove to the dr she could loose weight. And he did the sleeve. Then she didnt loose a pound! Gave him all kind of excuses. She is the one who traveled from Maryland to Houston.  They even rented a apartment in Houston so she could comply with the program and didnt! That episode pissed me off!  She argued with the Dr gave him excuse after excuse! Her husband enabled her with bringing in fast food! Not good! She wouldnt even get out of bed to walk! Or stand!

Makes for good conversation!

Hi Carla,

I don't usually watch reality TV, so I have no idea what show you're referring to.  However, I can relate to being pissed.  My sister had the lap band done, and did not change her diet one bit.  If she lost any weight, I didn't notice.  She saw a different doctor about getting the sleeve, but has a lot of tests he needs done.  She claims to be afraid to get RNY, because she had blood clots, in her lung and leg.  Now, she is on Coumadin.  My surgeon told me he's operated on patients like her, with no problem.

I know when I met with my surgeon, I asked about the lap band first, and he told me the danger of not changing my diet because I wouldn't dump.  I then went to the support group, and got a tour of the second floor of the hospital, which completely put my mind at ease.

It's a shame that the woman on the show gives her doctor all the excuses.  It's also a shame that the husband keeps undermining by brining in fast food.

Must scoot.

Hello...ok I will post see if anyone reads and responds...haha

Been busy with learning my PC at work...freezing our butts off also again!!! Learned how to do my RECERTS not hard at all when you have the RIGHT person teaching you!!!! :-) Got my new perspective tenant all set almost to move in...just need conformation on putting her in the different apartment that has thinner carpet so it will be easier for her wheelchair and walker to get around in and her move in date for the lease. Still think this woman will be a PAIN IN MY NECK!!! But there was no way to keep her out...

Weather here is COLD and we are now under a winter weather watch til Saturday afternoon for more snow and dangerous windchills...BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and can I say I hate mother nature??? I do!!!! I can't take this cold anymore!!!!!!!!!

Also the woman that lives here that has a son that is a felon...that turned me in for NOT letting her have him come to her place for Christmas...(we have a trespassing on him) got her way to have him here...well it seems he tried AGAIN to commit suicide and needed his bandages changed...so she lets him come HERE instead of going to HIS place!!!!!!! I called the police and they came and told him he had to leave or be arrested...she said I must not have any kids...give me a break drama queen!!!!!!! The officer and myself asked her at the same time why she didn't go to his place???? LOL So what does this woman do?????? Turns me in AGAIN!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOO now we have to have a special meeting next week....what part of her son being a FELON ON GOVERMENT FUNDED PROPERTY doesn't she understand???????????? We give her an inch she takes MILES ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now to see what this meeting brings...does this drama queen win or do we??? I hope we do!!!!!!!

Then we have had several deaths here...been depressed...a few also in the hospital. I can't take much more!!!!

I come here read every night...I did post late one night but nobody responded...not sure if anyone even read it. Oh well.

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!!

HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Hi Judy,

Please don't take a lack of responses personally.  I know I'm lousy with commenting when I post for the day.  I read all the posts, but rarely respond personally, mainly because I am trying to limit my time on the laptop.  I'm still working on the baby blanket.

I totally understand these freezing temperatures getting to you.  I'm just a little north of you, so we've got it too.  Don't think we're getting the snow as much, though.

Hang in there.  I know all of the deaths are upsetting, and then to have that felon of a son show up.  I hope the meeting proves you right.

Hugs, Trish

Hello Judy....I generally reply to everyone....or at least try to. Occasionally I am just too exhausted at night to get back on to post. Sorry I missed your post. You know how much I care!!

I had no idea you have had that many deaths...wow!! That would be depressing. I know you are having a rough time with the loss of your friend. I am still praying for you.

I am so glad that you are getting the hang of doing those recerts!!!

Sorry that woman and her worthless, no good, son are causing more problems...no good trash that they are!! Hope it all goes to your favor!!

I hope the new tenant doesn't give you too much grief.  If she needs someone to take care of her all the time she needs to live in assisted living!!

Hope you have a better day tomorrow!!

Much love and bunches of hugs....connnie d

Hello sistas!

Well, the house hunt is in full swing!  We've been at it for 2 days now, so I haven't had time to post.  I was so wiped out yesterday when we got home, I just fell into bed!  But not so tired today, and now Butch is feeling sick--gag!  Poor baby!  He hasn't thrown up yet, but he's feeling really bad.  So I'm cooking dinner tonight.  Thank goodness that Mike is here to mind the boys.

Well, I digressed.  So, the house hunt: we had to go outside the New Braunfels area.  The property values here are just too high for the newer homes.  There are tons of older homes, but they are really older and all have lots of potential repair bills.  So we've been looking in Schertz, a bedroom community north of San Antonio and south of New Braunfels.  Chris and Mike could continue to work in NB at Hobby Lobby with about a 15 minute commute up I35.  Not bad at all.

Anyway, we found 2 pretty good houses.  A little above our price point, but one we are very, very interested in.  It's a foreclosure, but it's right on the golf course.  I know, that sounds really expensive, but it's not.  It's just a local little golf course, not a major one.  Anyway, since it's in foreclosure, it's an odd deal for buying it, but the realtor is putting in an offer on it tonight.  Cross your fingers, swing chickens, pray, whatever!  I hope the bank will either accept our initial offer or counter with an amount we can actually meet.

If we can't work a deal on the foreclosure, we'll try for the other one next.

I worked a really good deal this morning on a used high chair for Budder.  I got that sucker for $10 at the resale shop!  Whoot!  I had a used high chair for Benny, but we didn't like it at all.  As soon as he was out of it, I donated it to the Good Will.  But this one is really nice.  I'll hang onto it.  No telling when I might get another one of these precious grandbabies!

I know y'all won't believe this, but we are actually forecast for possible SNOW tomorrow morning!  Really unusual this far south.  It's freezing out there today anyway, so I'm making chili and cornbread for supper.  I hope Butch feels up to eating it.  I know Mike will enjoy it.  Chris is closing tonight, so she'll be in late, but I imagine she will be happy to have a hot bowl of chili when she gets home.  Benny will have a hot dog.

So, I'm doing a little better this week.  I still get tired--real tired--and once that happens, I just have to stop and lie down.  But I do have a bit more energy and stamina now.  I'm so ready to get back to feeling like me again.

Well, that's all the news for today.  If we are successful in buying this house, the kids will have their work cut out for them.  It's needs all new paint inside, but they both have Sundays off and they're young and strong.  And the carpet will have to be professionally cleaned.  But other than that, it's move-in ready.  I'm not able to paint anymore, but I can play with the babies while they paint!

Love you all!

 Vickie
