Happy Wednesday from snowy Minnesota!!
Good morning everyone.....
I couldn't sleep again this morning. I was awake at 5:45. I like to sleep at least until 7:00 or 8:00....oh well. We got more snow again last night. Probably only about 4 inches or so. Happy to see the temp is 7 degrees....with wind chill -13. That is great compared to the last few days!!!
Kyleigh fell on the ice and really bruised her knee. I had her boyfriend, Dan, go over and check it out for me last night. He said she can move it okay but it is already very colorful! He made her dinner and made sure she iced it like she should. She is having trouble walking. She called last night to see if I could take her to school this morning as she is sure it will feel worse today. I need to be there about 8:30. Always something going on!!
I have a meeting at 11:00 with an agency to do an intake for home care. They will be doing my cleaning, laundry, and some shopping if necessary. My doctor insists I get this. She said, she will write letters or fill out forms or whatever it takes! She said I am doing it all and causing myself more pain. I have been going to a pain clinic since April and seeing her too. I am better in some areas but worse in others. I hate getting old!! Oh well ....onward I go!!!
Wishing you all a wonderful day!! Prayers for all our OFF Family in need.
Love and hugs to all....connie d
Good Morning Friends!
Connie - Guess it's cold across the nation - here in MA it's -2, and with wind chill added in, feels like -16. BBBRRRRR. I have a brother who moved out to CA where his daughter lives -- wonder if they have room for one more! Although I will not fly on a plane until I can fit into their seats.
Patricia - Thanks for the additional insight - it shed more light on the subject for me.
Me - I've got to go warm up the car and brush the snow/ice off so I can go to the bank and pick up my new debit card. I've got to get some cash so I can gas-up my car for my trip to the Weight Center tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, the appt. is at 8:00 so I've got to head in before the bank opens in the morning. Otherwise, I'd be staying in today. Don't like this cold weather. But I'm sure by this time next year, I'll be able to buy a warm winter coat at one of the thrift/consignment shops. (Won't pay full price for a new one until I reach my goal!!) I am so looking forward to buying "normal sized" clothes. I have some particular styles in mind and on my wish list will be belts and knee-high boots.
Have a good day everyone!
Still learning. Currently in pre-op stage.
Hello Mary....yes, we all are having some crazy, brutal weather lately. It is almost 4: 00 PM and the wind chill is still at -23 degrees. It will only get worse as the day goes on. The wind is so strong It all but blew me over.
I agree...don't go out buying a lot of clothes now. You won't need them for much longer!! I am praying all goes well for you and that the surgery will behind you soon. Hang on tight....it is a wild ride!!!
Love and many hugs....connie d
Hi There ,
I am home! I got here at 130 this morning! It is colder here today than it was in Denver!!!!! My husband just left for Chicago! It is just me and Bentley and my cat!
Prayers are out for Annette again. I saw a post from her husband that she is back in the hospital!
I am flying to Chicago to help Carl drive home February 7th.
Carla
Hi Carla....how do I keep missing these posts about Annette? I am on Facebook quite often. I don't get it!! Guess I better get back on here and check it out. I just have way to many people I am in contact on there!!
Glad you made it home safely. Sorry your hubby had to leave right away. Enjoy your quiet time!!

Good Evening Connie, and my OFF Sisters,
Connie, I hope you are able to get some in-home assistance with chores. That should definitely cut out some of your pain. I know I wouldn't qualify for it.
I am so happy I went for a second opinion with the hand surgeon who saved Trent from losing his hand entirely, to Sepsis. He'd been playing softball, in the church league. He slid into a base, and really cut up a finger on one hand. One hospital's ER just stitched it up, and sent him on his way. He then got a referral to Dr. Hornbach, whose reputation is well known in these parts. He was in a lot of pain, because it got all infected. X-rays showed he had bits of stone in the joint of the finger, and it was causing Septic Arthritis. Mind you, Trent is a self-employed carpenter. His hands are his livelihood. Dr. Hornbach had to call in the Center for Disease Control. The antibiotic he was prescribed sells for $2000. Praise God, Colleen has a good prescription coverage.
So, Dr. Hornbach had specific X-rays of my thumb joints, and wrist, right there in his office. Then, he sat me down, and told me he wanted me to do hand therapy, and that is right downstairs from his office. Plus, they custom molded the splints to my hand. He wants the thumb immobilized in a very particular way. Now, I have three muscle relaxation exercises to reposition my thumbs, along with the splints.
I was supposed to go to an interview at the zoo this evening, but we were having sloppy snow flurries, and low visibility. I absolutely am terrified to drive in any kind of winter weather, especially at night. So, I have to reschedule. I did call and let them know I wouldn't be there.
I had my iron infusion, and then came home to watch the boys, while Colleen picked Izzy up from school and took her to her piano lesson.
Love and Hugs, Trish

Hello Trish....I am glad you got your iron infusion done.
It sounds like you have a great doctor helping you with your hands. I may have to go to an orthopedic doctor for my hands. I can't hardly use my thumbs anymore. The pain is so bad. I keep dropping things too as I can't grip tight enough. I see my pain doctor next week I will see what he has to say. One of his PT's was a hand specialist at the orthopedic clinic. She had helped me long ago.
I am glad you canceled your interview. No need to go out in that weather if you don't have to go.
Love and hugs....connie d
