Travel Tuesday
Good morning sistas!
So, Butch and I are traveling to Waco today to spend a little time with Carrie. But first I have my appointment with Dr. Wood, the infectious disease doctor. He has been overseeing my antibiotic treatment for the staph infection I had. I have been on antibiotics since Dec 6th. I hope today he will take me off of them entirely. I will feel like I am really getting better then!
Anyway, the plan is to pack our bags this morning, go to the doctor, and then leave for Waco from the doctor's office. I do pretty good in the car. I lay the seat back and with a couple of pillows, I can travel in comfort. I have a hard time sitting upright for long periods, but I can recline with no problems.
I will try to check in from Waco, but I might not be around for a couple of days. It's easy to read posts on the phone, but not so easy to reply. I hope Butch and I can help Carrie get a handle on her life and all the things that are going on with her right now. We will try.
I'd better get moving. Lots to do in the next hour. Love you all!
Good morning Vickie and everyone....
Vickie....I hope the doctor takes you off the medication too. I know you will feel better about that. I am glad you can go see Carrie. I know she needs you now. Praying for your safe travels. I am still praying for you and Butch as well.
As for me....going over to Kyleigh's in a little while. She and I finished up her apartment checklist. She wants me to go with her to take it into the office. There are some things that need to be fixed. She said...they won't mess with you Grandma...not sure if that is good or bad...LOL!
I stayed up to late reading on my Nook last night. I sure love it!! It makes reading so much easier. Thank you again Secret Santa!! I am trying to not guess who it is but some days it racks my brain. I am forever grateful for sure!! I thought I could read late as I could sleep in this morning...WRONG...they started plowing the parking lot at 7:30. I had to get dressed and move my car by 8:00. Oh well....I am just happy to get out there and do it at my own place!! I shouldn't have read until 1:30 AM!!!!
Anyone hear anything as to how Annette is doing? I am going to send her a PM and hope too hear something. If not in a couple days I am going to call. More prayers everyday for her!!
We haven't heard anything lately from Jennifer either. I just keep praying all is going well for her.
Wishing you all a wonderful day!! Prayers too for so many of our other OFF family.
Much love and bunches of hugs to all .......connie d
Good Afternoon Vickie and OFF Family,
I just got home from the hand therapist, where he fitted me with two plastic splints to hold my thumbs in place. Magically, I can still type.
This morning, I was at Colleen's to babysit Frankie. He slept till 9:00, and we played with a huge stuffed bear, almost as big as him. Then, we went to get Lincoln at preschool. On the way home, we went to McDonald's drive-thru, and I bought Happy Meals for them.
I'm resting right now. I have a headache. This evening is Family Night at Lincoln's school. The zoo docents will be there with animals. I'm going with Colleen and the kids. I'm looking forward to this. I love animals when kids are around.
Must scoot.

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:
Sorry to be out of touch so often. Either I get on here so late or nothing much is happening, so I don't post. Yesterday, I was supposed to take my ex-boss out to Walmart to return something; I needed to go that way anyway because I had to go to Petsmart. Well, his foot was bothering him and he didn't want to go. I was ready to go out and decided just to go out that way and get it done. I hit, Petsmart for cat supplies, Home Depot for one of those Citrus Magic thingies (you know, you open it up and it freshens the house ... I keep smelling something like a urine smell ... it's over by the laundry room/furnace but I can't see any wet spots), then to Walmart for Atkins bars (they didn't have the ones I really like but I bought a few), then to the grocery store to get some stuff they had on sale (and amazingly they had the Atkins bars I like for less than Walmart), then home. I was out for two hours and got a lot done.
It has been snowing a bit this morning; I've been up since 4:30 a.m. I had an asthma attack then and was coughing, wheezing and couldn't breathe lying down, so I got up and used my inhaler and took some cough medicine (not in that order). Had my coffee and breakfast and took down some Christmas stuff. Unless my ex-boss Richard (I guess I should quit just calling him ex-boss) calls today for a ride, I don't plan on getting out of my jammies. Just going to have a lazy day at home, de-Christmas-izing my house. Time to do it.
Vickie, enjoy your time away from your hectic household. I hope your wound continues to heal and you can help your other daughter out.
Carla, where are you going this time?
Trish, have fun with the grandkids and the animals tonight.
Connie, I bet you are tough and no-nonsense, something your granddaughter appreciates. Youngsters don't know how to stand up for themselves.
Well, not much else happening. It's stopped snowing here but the temperature has dropped from yesterday's relatively warm 40s to 28. Have a nice day.
