Happy Wednesday!
Good Morning Ladies!
First, Trish: Congratulations on your fourth anniversary. My husband spent the last 12 years of his life sober - and they were the best years of his life. I'm flooded with memories of how miserable, unhappy and unhealthy he was when we were first married - but once he made the choice to get sober, with God's help, his life turned around and he was able to find peace and happiness. I remember the good times - he got sober when our daughter was one years old - and because of his sobriety he was able to be a wonderful, loving father and husband. I hope your days are happy!
Debbie: 32 years!! Congratulations. You're right about time flying. I think of myself as being in my 40s - can't believe I'm 62 most days - except when the body is snap, crackle and popping!
Carla: Can't wait to have surgery - I'd love to go to California to visit my brother and his family, and I'd love to save to take my daughter and granddaughter to Disney World. Won't even try to fly now at my size.
Connie: Enjoy your MY DAY - sounds like you've earned it.
Annette: Hope you are doing better - prayers are with you.
I'm still taking care of my granddaughter - she spent the week-end with me, and then Monday morning she ended up back here because she couldn't go to daycare because she had a temperature. So I've had the pleasure of her company - but she'll be going home tonight.
Had my DSE (stress test) and my cardiologist called this morning to say the results came back normal and he will approve me for surgery. Big relief - that was my biggest worry. So now I've got three more "informational meetings"; need to see exercise consultant now that cardio is ok; and need to have the sleep apnea test. So I'm hoping by March I'll be able to see surgeon.
Hope you all have a good day!!
Mary
Still learning. Currently in pre-op stage.
Mary,
I'm glad your husband gave you twelve sober years together. That is wonderful. Plus, your daughter grew up with a sober father. My Dad never got sober before he died. I'm loving life, now that I'm living in Michigan. Before I moved here, I was living in the Philadelphia suburbs, not near any of my children. Plus, my only grandchildren live here, and it was a 12 hour drive, once or twice a year, in order to see them. I was missing their childhoods. Life was ok back home, but life is fantastic now.
Hugs, Trish

Hi Mary!!
I did enjoy my day...thank you!!
I am so glad you got to spend extra time with your granddaughter!! She sounds just wonderful!!
I can't wait to have Gracie here Friday!! My daughter Jamie and her family are taking me out to dinner. Then Gracie will be all mine!!! Nic may stay too!! Saturday is my ex husband's side of the families Christmas. They will then stay at my ex brother in laws Saturday night. That is where the get-together always takes place. Jamie and her family will leave Sunday about noon as they have a 4.5 to 5 hour trip back to Iowa. I am always invited to the Christmas but usually turn it down.
We all love our grandchildren so much!! They sure are a blessing from God.
Love and hugs to you....connie d
Hi Carla and my OFF family:
I wrote a long post on the Tuesday thread ... I'm confused on the day. Oh well. Hope your traveling goes well.
I'm going to get off the computer again here and do some more de-Christmasizing of the house. All I've been doing today is napping in between taking down decorations.
Have a good day.
Hello Eileen.....it sounds like you are very busy today. I know you will be glad to get all your Christmas things together and put away until next Christmas!
So happy you have a day off to nap when you want. Hope you had some good sleep.
I will check out your Tuesday post.
Love you...HUGS....connied
