Hi Everyone - hope all is well!

Connie - This cold weather is miserable.  I'm in Massachusetts - lots of snow and frigid weather.  Times like this I'm really glad I no longer have to work - on disability now due to health issues caused by my morbid obesity.  I used to literally drag myself to work - people would see me struggle and they'd come up to me and ask why I didn't apply for disability.  Between the physical problems and the stress I was miserable.  My last day at work I was in tears the whole day - finally decided I had enough.  Didn't know how I'd make it because my income would be cut more than half, but I manage.  A "simple" lifestyle is better than a life filled with stress.  Now when it snows, I can just turn over in bed and relax.

Judy - Sounds like your Mom's problems are not as serious as you first thought - that's great.  I'm sure it still is stressful, but she'll do okay with your support.  I was thankful to be able to help my Mom when she needed help.

Vickie, Vickie, Vickie - Don't know the full story as to why your daughter and grandchild(ren) are staying with you, but it doesn't sound like a good thing.  But I'm sure it's difficult to move her out.  I have a problem with my SO - I want him out because of issues we're having, but he won't go.  He keeps saying he's miserable and I say fine, leave.  But he's a "needy" person - has never had to stand on his own and be responsible for himself.  We just had a fight a few minutes ago - he is always complaining about my daughter - he doesn't even want her to call here.  I've told him several times if he wants me to pick between him and my daughter, then I chose my daughter whether he likes it or not.  It's the source of many arguments.  It's an issue I'm trying to resolve - I've found some rooming houses that he can afford, so hopefully next month when my disability check come in and he gets his check, I'll be able to put in some money so he can move into a rooming house.  (Ladies, please say a few prayers for me!)

Eileen - Enjoy your new slippers.  I'm a cheapskate - I need a robe and slippers, but I won't spend the money because I know next year I will be a lot smaller - I'm in pre-op stage, expecting to have surgery around March or so.

Debbie - How old is your daughter?  Sounds like she has a nice beau!  I got married when I was 23 - met my husband mother's day weekend and got married in August.  He met my parents two weeks before we got married.   "Mom, Dad, this is Mickey, we getting married."  That went over big.  We were young and in love - and were happy together for 26 years until his death.  I'm sure everyone thought I was pregnant because we got married so quickly, but I wasn't - I just didn't want him to get away!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Still learning.  Currently in pre-op stage.

Hello Mary....so nice that you came back to us!!

I got married young as well. I was so glad I did after I ended up needing a Hysterectomy at 28. I am so grateful for my two daughters! My second husband and I would have liked a child together but that wasn't possible. It wasn't in God's plan. It sounds like you had a good man. So sorry for your loss.

I am on disability as well. Sometimes it is hard at making ends meet. It is always a challenge. Especially when moving into a new place and needing so much. My things were in storage for 3+ years. I needed all new spices, condiments, packaged items, and many other household things I couldn't leave in storage. The weather changes are just too up and down here. It is overheated or freeze solid!

Glad you are getting all excited about your upcoming surgery...I am excited for you!!

Have a good night.....love and hugs....connie d
