Happy New Year's Eve everyone!
Mary,
Welcome. I know you are excited and eager to get your surgery. Believe me when I say, your life will change and you will become so active that you will have a hard time doing everything you want to do in a day's time. Again, welcome and if you have questions, just post a way. We are all a pretty supportive group of folks.
Welcome to the boards. It is cold here in Michigan too, looking at sub 0 wind chills here.
Glad to hear you are going to take responsibility for your own health yourself. No way should your SO stand in your way of a healthier you. It IS your body.
I haven't been posting here much. I spent the month of November doing Disney than getting ready for T-day and 3 weeks of cruising in December. I had two days to get ready for Christmas after flights canceled for ice.
I got home to the news my brother was home with late stage terminal cancer and had only days to live. I got to see him once before he passed the day after Christmas. Due to family issues it was some stressful days.
Now it is a new year and I have 10 days to get ready for 2 more weeks of cruising. Hope all are doing well.
Again Welcome Mary and pm if you would like to talk about the sleeve.
Thanks everyone for your welcoming messages - I can see that this is a very supportive group and I look forward to getting to know you all better.
Pine - very sorry to hear about your brother. It's amazing how quickly our loved ones succumb to cancer once it is diagnosed. My Mom passed away three weeks after she was diagnosed. I was lucky enough to have her living with me at the time, and we had hospice care for her to keep her comfortable. I was blessed to be able to "give back" to her some of the love she gave me.
Snow, snow, snow here, along with frigid temperatures. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning - hopefully I can make it, as it is supposed to snow all night. The towns around here are pretty good about clearing the roads - I have to leave at 9:00 and I'm hoping I'll be ok -- will call the doctor's office in the morning to be sure he's there.
Stay warm everyone!
Still learning. Currently in pre-op stage.
