Moving, what is it good for?
We are trying to get ready for our move to the Middle East. Our lease was up in our house up here in the mountain, so we decided to move into a smaller apartment. We have planned this for quite sometime, and we started downsizing our things. When we move to the Middle East, we are only taking our cats and a few things. The rest of the stuff will go in the barn at our house in the valley. Our house up here, that we rented, was three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a large living room, very large kitchen, and a dining room, laundry room, and a two car garage. Additionally, we had two sheds in the back yard. Over the last five years, we filled every nook and cranny with a lot of unnecessary things. So, when we gave our landlord a thirty day notice, we began downsizing. Even though we removed all the extra crap, we still moved into our little apartment and our bursting at the scenes. So, as I am unpacking, I am either giving away or throwing away things I shall not need. How many roasting pans do I really need? So, here I am, unpacking things, throwing away things, and trying to save space in our new tiny apartment.
In the meantime, Christmas has come and about to go so I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and prosperous new year.
After two days, I finally have the bathroom, kitchen, and living room organized. I don't have pictures up but the pictures are leaning against the wall while all the little things are on the right tables, in the right cabinet, or on the right shelf. Today, I am tackling the bedroom and office. Even though our bed is put together and we have been sleeping on it, the room has boxes stacked in one corner and it is driving me nuts. My sewing room/office is crazy. I am so dreading going through all those boxes. We have taken two car loads of clothes to the homeless shelter and have taken another carload of gently used bed linens, towels, and dishes to the salvation army. I have not problem getting rid of things but my husband seems to develop an anxiety when we are looking at his things. Geeze! Well, after my coffee, I am back at it. I don't go back to wor****il Jan. 3, so I am definitely going to make sure I get everything organized.
Here's to us nesting girls.
Good morning Jeannie!!
You are a whiz at this unpacking thing. I have been at it for weeks. I don't have the energy or am in too much pain to hit it that hard. You however, are like the energizer bunny!!!
My granddaughter is here until tomorrow. She will be helping me with some odds and ends that I need to get done. We will also make a trip to donate some more things! I swear things are multiplying around here!!!
As one "Nesting Girl" to the other....you have an awesome day!! By the way you had me giggling about the "Nesting Girl" comment!! You always make me smile and laugh!!
Love and many hugs....connie d
