Surgeon called with path report yesterday. Good and bad news
Good news: the sentinel lymphnodes are free of cancer cells, so no metastasis so hopefully no chemo.
Bad news: anterior margin focally positive, means presence of cancer cells in what is supposed to be clean margin, so tumour not all out. Facing possibility of more surgery, wider excision but surgeon's hunch is radiation may take care of it and will leave decision to do more surgery up to oncologist. How typical, he wont commit to not having taken out enough after all I've been through since past June when I had my 2 year regular mammo showing abnormality and blindsiding me.
Cancer had grown 0.3 cms in length since original June mammo, so was 2.9 cms as Nov MRI indicated, no surprise there.
Grading is Average, meaning between 2-3 as original September biopsy indicated, and still to come is info re whether estrogen, progesterone or Her2 dependant, if latter then definitely more surgery, chemo etc...Will know more next Tuesday when I meet surgeon to take out stitches from 2 incisions.
Bummed out as was so hoping for good news and afraid it wouldnt be, turns out a mixed bag of good and bad..It could have been worse, I agree, but bothered that cancer isn't all out.
We are in a deepfreeze here, and tonight snow starts dumping about 8 inches on us throughout all of Sunday. Staying inside and cocooning.
Hope your weekend is going better than mine....
Jennifer
Good Afternoon Connie and OFF Family,
Vickie, I'm glad you're Mom was found. I'd have gone ballistic if that were my Mom. I hope you are able to get her moved near you soon.
I'm babysitting Frankie today. He has a cold, and the family is gone to visit the new baby. Since Mama and Baby may be discharged today, Colleen didn't want to risk exposing either of them to his cold. He was acting snuggly on my lap, when he coughed, like he was gagging on post nasal drip, and all of a sudden, he vomited all over the two of us. Mostly him. He got upset, because I think it surprised him. Then, after I got his clothes off him, he was all smiles. I got him and me changed, cleaned up the carpet where it landed, put his clothes to soak, and rocked him to sleep. He's napping in the Pack N Play now.
It is snowing today. Has been since last night. One of my neighbors shoveled for me, but I have to do more since. I'm going to throw my boots on and just do outside my door, and the step below it. I don't want to be too far from Frankie.
Hugs,
Trish

Hello Trish....I envy you all those precious times with your grandchildren. I miss all those snuggle days with my grandchildren. They are all grown up and too hard to hold now. Every now and then they ask to sit on my lap....that is special!! They are all bigger then me!! Except Gracie, I can still cuddle her!! I hope Frankie feels better soon.
Sounds like you got quite a bit of snow. Be careful out there it is slippery under that snow.
Love and hugs....connie d
Afternoon OFF family...getting snow here also and might turn to rain yet if the temps keep going up. It is at 32* now. Snow falling hard at times had a tenant call and ask how come they weren't out cleaning it up yet? HUH??? There was a DUSTING at that time and nothing to "clean up". Trying to clean it now and they can't keep up!!! I am at the end of my rope here and desperately need a vacation AWAY from here for a few days!!!!!!!!!! Christmas isn't coming fast enough for me!!!!!! Have the Party/dinner Tuesday then bingo Friday and hopefully our bonus check is in the mail by then so we can get the hell out of here!!!!!!!!! There is ALOT going on here but I am not posting about it. All I can say is HOW DARE THIS TENANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess I am going back to FB and play some games. I am in a grumpy mood.
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGSSSSS
