Blessed Sunday
Vickie,
When I get constipated, I eat prunes. They are natural and don't cause all the cramping that the other things do. In fact, I get a box or two every grocery day and eat four or five prunes every other night. When I am severely constipated, I heat half a box of prunes in a little water and let it boil until the water is almost gone and the prunes are very soft. I eat them and even drink the juice and within about two or three hours, bingo. Since having had to have my pouch fixed from all the ulcers, constipation has been one of my worst plagues so when I read about others who are bound up, I just want to offer good advice that will help move miracles without tearing up the lining of the colon. If you can eat prunes, give them a try.
Hello Vickie... no one is happier then me to know you are having a better day today!! I hope you get to get outside for a bit today.
I also have an 8 inch scar on my tummy...I hate it but is is part of me now...what can I say. You and I can't wear bikinis...oh well!!
It sounds like your mom is doing well. I know how much you want to be with her. She sounds like she is doing okay. So glad your SIL Judy will be checking in on her daily. That will give you some relief from worry.
It is wonderful that you have so many family members to help you and Butch. I am so happy to hear that!! They gifts you are giving them is just wonderful. I know they will be so grateful!! Omaha steaks are so good!!
Sorry your appetite isn't so good. I hope you are at least drinking Protein Drinks to get your protein in. I use Boost Calorie Smart...they are good...love the chocolate. At least they help get some protein in. On days I just can't eat I drink 3-4 of them a day. They are expensive but I need them for my health. I also keep Pure Protein Bars on hand...they have 20 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar!!
I have taken your advice and quit rattling my brain as to who my Secret Santa is. At least for now. I am just so grateful to that person they went above and beyond making me happy!!
Thank you for your prayers for Nic and I....that is very comforting. You are always so sweet about keeping Nic close at heart! That means so much to me!
You are always in my thoughts and prayers too. I have been praying for Butch as well. I hope is surgery goes well and he will be up and around soon!! So glad he is now retired!
Love you much...hugs...connied
Hi Vic...good seeing you post today!! Glad things are settling down some for you so you can concentrate on getting better instead of worrying!!!
You have an 8 inch cut huh...mine when I had hernia surgery was cut from breast bone to belly button!!! So that is about a 12 inch cut!!! I slept in lazyboy chair for weeks!! When it came time to sleep back in bed OMG talk about PAIN trying to lay flat!!! LOL But the lazyboy sure did make me sleep better in a reclining position!!!
Hope you feel better soon!!!!! Prayers for you, your mom and Butch also!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSS
My RNY was open, so I started out with a long incision from my breast bone to my belly button. A little over a year later, I developed an incisional hernia, and let my RNY surgeon, reopen me, put mesh in, and staple me back up. When my gall bladder surgeon examined my belly, before my surgery, she was impressed with how it is hardly noticeable now.
