SUNDAY WHAT'S HAPPENING????????

Good Evening Judy, Jennifer, Eileen and OFF Family,

I am finally sitting down, with my feet up and the laptop on my lap.  After church, I hooked up my laptop to the TV to watch the Eagles game on the Directv website.  During that, I was cooking, cleaning and moving furniture.  Now, I have a big, empty spot to put my new tree in.  Now, I have a headache, and backache.  I'll see how I feel when I get home from Colleen's later.  So, I'm watching the Chiefs/Broncos game, rooting for the Chiefs, partly coz they're my nephew's favorite team, and partly because their head coach used to coach the Eagles.

Yesterday, I roasted a turkey, carved it down, and bagged it in two bags.  When I go over to Colleen's, I'll give her one, to freeze in smaller bags for her to surprise Trent with.  His favorite meal is roast turkey and stuffing.  Today, I made a pot of turkey stock, and boiled it down.  It's cooling so I can skim off the fat.  Tomorrow, I make the soup.

Well, I better scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Good Evening Judy and OFF-

Judy sorry that you had to strain your arm putting up the tree.  I don't even want to think about decorating until the weekend.

Jennifer-  I will be sending positive vibes northward to Ottawa and your direction.  I am vibbing for a  positive outcome for you tomorrow.  You'll be in my thoughts all day.

Trish -  glad you're relaxing.

I came back to the Refuge today after spending the last few days with my Texas family in Tivoli.  Did entirely too much eating and will be watching intake until Christmas and increasing my workouts to work off the increase in pounds.  We made dough ornaments with the kids on Thanksgiving day.  My dear friend is a Christmas nut and this year her tree will be a Century plant stem.    The home made ornaments will decorate the tree and then the kids will get to take them home on Christmas day.  I love spending time with her family even if it's too much eating.  I came home wearing glitter as we spray the Century stem with glitter to give it more shine.

New volunteers arrived this evening.  I know them from previous years.  It will be nice to get reacquainted.  Tomorrow I will work and them have Tuesday and Wednesday off.  Have got to work on the book project and get my act together.  Refuge management has made it clear that my priority will be helping them with projects and book takes back seat.  Not a problem for me but not sure about my team members.  We'll see.

OK I'm back in the loop again.  New computer is working well and I'll be checking/posting more frequently.

Good evening, sweet OFF sistas!

Sorry I have been MIA for the past few days.  It has been a mad happy chaotic weekend here with very limited computer time for Mimi!  Oh, but we did have a fun Thanksgiving and it was so great to have the whole family together, if only for a few days.  I'm really missing my mom and Carrie today.  On the bright side, it's just 3 more weeks till Christmas and we'll all be together again!

I made some sugar-free or almost sugar-free desserts this year, and I was sick (gastric upset) all weekend.  It finally dawned on me that maybe it was the sugar-free stuff.  I baked cupcakes using a sugar free cake mix, made banana pudding using a sugar-free pudding mix, and made a pecan pie using splenda.  I was trying to accommodate Butch's diabetes, and both Carrie and I are trying to limit our sugar intake as well.  Hmmm.  Don't think I'll do that again.  Instead I think I'll just make one real dessert for Christmas and only have a tiny piece.

Tomorrow starts my week of pre-op readiness for Friday, the 6th.  Tomorrow morning I have a carotid artery ultrasound, and then another dentist appointment at mid-day (for another crown).   Tuesday I have my final Q&A with the Gyn doctor before my hysterectomy.  On Wednesday, Butch has a doctor's appointment with the skin doctor, and we also have to call his surgeon and get all of his pre-op stuff scheduled for his bunion surgery on the 17th.  We're also going to check out hearing aids for Butch next week.  Trying hard to get everything in before the Dec 31st deadline.

Hoping we hear from Connie soon about her new apartment.  I think she was planning to try and sleep there this weekend.  I know she is so very eager to have her own place and her own things around her again.  And especially to have her own bed!

Hope everyone had a very good Thanksgiving, even those who had to work, like Eileen.  Love you all!
