Wednesday!
Good Evening,
Long day today. Crazy too. First problem: I put Utley out in the backyard, and when I went to let him in, he wasn't in the backyard. I thought maybe he got out of the little fence area I put up, but that was fine. Then, I looked in the back corner, which I can't see from the house because a large pine tree blocks my view, and two panels of the neighbor's stockade fence were down. Probably blown down by the terrible storm we had Sunday. In a panic, I went searching for him in the neighborhood, with no luck. When I went back home, he was waiting in my garage, by the door to the kitchen. He's been running the neighborhood since Monday. The house is up for sale, so I called the real estate agent selling it, to inform her, so she could inform the owner. I know, if I were buying, I wouldn't want a property with a large portion of the fence knocked down. It appears the owner hasn't been on the property in at least six days, because there are six newspapers sitting at the top of the driveway.
Then, I had to hurry to Guitar Center, to buy a power chord for a keyboard Chris had given me, which Paul and I had given him in high sch
ool in 1995. Izzy started piano lessons in September, and practicing on a keyboard they'd been given by friends that moved away. Turns out that keyboard has two keys that don't work. She kept getting upset because it made practicing difficult, and she'd start whining, which would upset Colleen, because she has zero tolerance for whining. So, I set up my keyboard, tested every key, and played some songs from my childhood. My biggest disappointment and regret are that Mom waiting till I was ten to get me piano lessons, and that I gave up after two years.
Then, I had to pick up some prescriptions at Rite Aid, and head to church. I stayed a couple of hours. When I got home, there were three packages on my doorstep. When I got to the door, I found a dog biscuit on top of them. I've been doing my Christmas shopping online.
