Happy Hump Day!
Good morning sistas, and especially those MIA sistas!
I'm not sure I like the new OH format yet. It's very different from yesterday. I'm one of those that don't like change. I get used to something, so don't mess with it! (Drives me crazy when they rearrange the aisle in the grocery store!)
Brrrr! We got that promised cold front. It was 30 F on my back porch when I let the dogs out this morning. Looks like it nipped my impatiens and coleus back on the front deck. It's supposed to freeze again tonight, so I imagine that will just about finish off my flowers. At least I saved my ferns in the green house.
Today is my day off and my goal for the day is to CLEAN MY FLOORS! I simply must mop! I'm working on getting all the dog hair up right now. I've Roomba'd, and now I'm swiffering. Next I'll wet swiffer. It's an all day job since we took up all the carpeting in this house. I just have to do one room at a time.
Been doing some more Christmas shopping on line. Yesterday I ordered everyone a new pair of Christmas pjs! I've always wanted to do that. The guys are getting red flannel plaid pj pants and red tee shirts. (Except Benny is getting the entire pj set, top and bottom). The girls are getting winter white pj pants with pine trees and dark green tee shirts. (Except for Mom who is getting the entire pj set too). So we will be all red and green for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Won't that be fun?
I have the yarn to crochet everyone a red and white Santa hat, and I also have the yarn to make everyone a pair of Christmas slipper socks, but I don't know if I'll get that done or not. Butter Bean is still not taking regular naps yet. I might get to work on some after my surgery while I'm recuperating. We'll see . . .
Well, I must get back to my floors. I just took a quick break to check emails and FB and OFF. I was disappointed to see so few postings yesterday and none today either. Where has everyone gone? I hope we will pick back up again soon. I miss everyone.
Love you all!
Hi Vickie and my OFF family:
Sorry I haven't been posting. Been busy with work and other things. Yesterday, I had PT and then a dentist appointment. In between, I stopped to have lunch at a Chinese restaurant. I had problems with Chinese food early on after surgery, but haven't in a long time. Well, yesterday I either ate too much or ate too fast ... and it all came up while I was driving to the dentist. I was just about a few blocks from the hospital when it happened. Fortunately, I had a bag in the front seat and caught it in there ... good hands.
Then I found out I have a hole in my crown in the back. I had been having pain in my jaw ... couldn't tell if it was top or bottom left. The dentist found it pretty quickly when he went poking around. I think it might have been the first crown I ever got, so it was back when I lived in South Dakota many years ago.
Then I sat on hold trying to reach the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles person to settle things about my car title. I'm still trying to settle that ... can't get license plates here until I get that old title cleared up. I traded in my car, the dealer sold the car and the person who bought it never signed the title over and immediately wrecked it and then got money for salvage from insurance, but it looks like I got the money, which I didn't. So I have to get the proper form to show I didn't get this money. What a mess!
Today I'm doing as little as possible. I'm still drinking coffee. I did clean the toilet. How ambitious.
No one is scaring me off, Trish. I checked several times yesterday and didn't see any posts at all. I was surprised but decided not to post, just wasn't in the mood. Plus, I had lots of other paperwork to take care of.
PT has been helping me, but on the day I go, I'm in a lot of pain afterward. Today, I feel pretty good other than I'm feeling lazy.
Well, have a good day.
Good afternoon Vickie and everyone.......
Vickie...the PJs sounds really awesome!! How fun!!
Eileen....you have been missed. It sounds like you have a lot of things going on at once. I hope it all works out.
I am still sick so I don't have much to say. Just trying to take my meds, rest, and drink plenty of water.
Wishing you all a great day!
Prayers for many off our OFF family.
Love and hugs to all...connie d
Having my much anticipated MRI on my girls tonight at 9 pm...didnt snag a cancellation so means surgery on Dec 2 unless tonight gives rise to anything new discovered requiring biopsies before my surgery. Tired of surgery being postponed and of course now acutely aware of my right breast and underarms where sentinel nodes are...feels like a churning washing mashing machine in those spots and of course psychosomatic ( auto suggestion that something is happening, developing, becoming more invasive!)
Will post tomorrow how I did in the tube, again on my tummy," girls"dropped through hole in gurney, my head and them halfway in tube, feet dangling out....am claustrophobic so this is gonna be fun for 30-40 minutes....drinking wine when I get home, girlfriend driving me to hospital and back in case I panic and get sedative so wouldn't be able to drive myself home.
Neighbour from hell above is changing his wood flooring I endured placement about 5 years ago....Power is out from 9 am to 5 pm tomorrow as hydro doing upgrading work in electric vault...thought things would be quiet upstairs tomorrow ( is taking a week and a half to switch out flooring above me) but heard his flooring company is bringing a generator in so they have power all day.The noise is going to be indescribable.
Life always interesting around here.....
hugs to all
jennifer
Jen when I had my MRI all I did was keep my eyes shut soon as they started putting me inside that small thing!!! Think nice thoughts and listen to good music!!! Just try NOT to dance or tap feet...lol
Thinking of you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
PS I would be insane with that inconsiderate jerk above!!!!!!!!!
Hope it all went OK. I had an MRI on my back and had no problems but I'm not claustrophobic. The noise bothered me a bit and they had music on but I couldn't hear it through the pounding. I just shut my eyes and tried to nap. My answer for everything. Think of the wine you'll have when you get home.
Hi all! Bill is back to taking over most of the outside chores. I am back from Disney with the Grandkids. I has been crazy since he got his new knee the end of September. The DD and I took over all the outside chores. It was 4 week before I would let Bill out side and than I felt like I was watching a 3 year old as he wants to do everything even though it puts his knee at danger of healing correctly.
Now I have some time to breath I need to start packing for our cruise 12/2. We are flying out the same day on SouthWest and I haven't flown them before and am getting very nervous.
Hope all is going well for all.
