Day 8: Today I am thankful for . . .
Today I am thankful for my parents and the way I was raised. My daddy (God bless him, gone 13 years now) was a strong role model for me. Not always a gentle man nor yet a patient one, he was honorable, honest, and taught me wrong from right by both words and actions. My mother is still with us and I love her so much. She was loving, kind, patient, and the example I turned to in my own mothering. I was raised by two people who loved each other and loved me. I was taught the Golden Rule my whole life--do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Not everyone is as lucky as I was. I am grateful to God for the family I was given. I have tried to pay it forward with my own family.
Today, I am thankful for the very clean laundromat down the street. It is run by a very wonderful couple. Everything is in tip top shape!! It always smells so fresh!! I needed to wash some blankets and bedding. It is so much easier with the huge washers and dryers. I am so thankful to have that all done.
Oh, Connie, a nice clean laundromat is indeed something to be thankful for. We don't have one out here. I mean, there is a laundromat, but it is not a nice one. I have to wash my blankets and things here at home and I just hold my breath each time I do it. I'm always afraid it will break my washing machine! I'm glad you got it all done!
Today, I am grateful that it wasn't freezing cold like yesterday, so I could rake most of the leaves out front.
