Good Thursday Morning OFF!

Good morning sistas!

I hope everyone is doing well and just too busy to post right now!

I took Patty Kate to the groomer at 8 a.m. and now I'm getting ready for my skin doctor appointment at 11 a.m.  Butch is on babysitting duty with little Butter Bean this morning.  Good!  He needs the experience and I need the break.

(Although I have to admit, as the oldest of 6 children, and as the uncle to innumerable nieces and nephews, not to mention our own two daughters, he's pretty damn good with infants.  I'm so lucky that way.  I can leave him with no qualms.)

We had a little cold front blow through yesterday and it is in the 40's this morning.  Which is a good thing I guess since our AC decided to go out yesterday!  I know, you wouldn't think we would still need it in November, but this is South Texas and we're likely to run the AC through December.  Butch thinks it just needs to be recharged with more freon.  I hope he can find someone to come take care of it today or tomorrow.  Please, God, don't add that chore to my plate for next week.  I'm already overwhelmed with the babysitting!

Gotta run.  Hope to hear from more of our sistas today!  Where is everyone?  YOU are MISSED!

Good Morning Vickie and OFF Family,

Sorry I've been AWOL a lot this week.  I'm in a sinus/headache fog, and busier than busy at the same time.  While I managed to accidentally miss my church's business meeting Sunday night, I've managed to be at there everyday so far this week.  Monday, I was babysitting for the young Moms Bible study.  Tuesday evening was the last meeting, before the holidays, for my Bible study.  It's been great getting to know the ladies in the small group I met with each week.  Last night, I worked at the children's ministry there.  Tonight, I'm going to the "Young at Heart" Thanksgiving dinner.  I think I'm the youngest in the group.

This morning I DVRed the morning news.  Seems the local meteorologist visited Isabel's school, and spoke to all the 1st graders.  They posted a picture of all the kids on the news today.  Then, I went over to Colleen's to watch Frankie for an hour.  She had taken him to the pediatrician for his 18 month check-up.  He's in the 99th percentile for the size of his head.  The 91st percentile for height, and the 86th percentile for his weight.  In other words, he's a big boy, and will likely be very tall, like his Dad, Mom, Uncle Chris and Sean, and his brother Lincoln and sister Izzy.  Those kids come from a very tall gene pool.

As soon as I got home, I emptied and reloaded the dishwasher.  When it's done running, I have a huge batch of mashed potatoes to make for tonight's dinner.

Vickie, just so you know, my son-in-law has been really great with the kids since the day they were born.  My daughter works teaching a college class at night, well two now, but she's done that since before Frankie was born, and went right back to teaching it when he was three months old.  That's meant that Trent has had to give the kids supper, get them their baths, get their jammies on them, do their bedtime stories and get them all to bed, all by himself.  Plus, on Wednesday nights, he gets the older two to the children's program at church.

Must scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Good afternoon Vickie and everyone......

Vickie....I am so glad Butch is such a great help with the children. I can see he is  when I look at pictures of him with the boys. He seems so calm and caring with them. I know how awesome you are already!!!! Sorry about you A/C. I really hope Butch can get it running before he leaves. Sending prayers. Hope your skin doctor appointment went well.

Trish....I don't know how you are doing everything you do with a sinus infection and headaches. I have one and it has knocked me down. It has also gone to my chest too. I hope you feel better soon. That baby sure does sound healthy!!! Have fun at your dinner tonight!!

I am not allowing any company today. I am taking my cold and fever meds and I just want to be alone. I am so worn out today. I should have skipped the laundry yesterday. It was just nice that Tony was here and could help.

Kyleigh (granddaughter) just found out she will be starting college in January. I am so proud of her. She has been on her own for 4 years and has done well. She is so excited!  I am excited for her too! Nic and Amanda are both working on getting to college as well. All great kids! Lucas is in 10th grade and is a great student. Little Grace love school. She is in 1st grade. She is well advanced especially in reading. My mom always read. I love reading and always have a book near by. Both my daughters love reading. Kyleigh and Grace do too!! It is for sure handed down one generation to the other.

I pray all is well with everyone....pop in again soon!!

Wishing everyone a beautiful day!! Prayers continue for so many in need.

Love and many hugs to all......connie d

Connie,

Isabel is in first grade, and has been reading since the end of Kindergarten.  They teach reading in Kindergarten here.  She and her brothers own tons of books.  Colleen is a Reading Specialist, and has been working on her reading skills since preschool.  It helps that there are a slew of teachers on both sides of the family.  Plus, the family reads a lot.

Hugs,

Trish
