Moving and Munching
Today, I did my Yoga. I've been working with balls...I know, sounds gross. But there are some stretching exercises in which you put a soft ball between the back of the lower leg and the back of the thigh and press. It sounds like it would be easy but it is damn hard to keep the ball there and to press. It's also used between the lower and upper arm and between the arm and waist and it really forces those little used muscles to stretch.
For breakfast: I ate a bowl of oatmeal with prunes...I must eat the prune
Snack: Orange slices
Lunch: Ham, cheese, and lettuce wrap
Snack: apple
Dinner: boiled egg, lettuce, and tomato.
Snack: sugar free popsicle
Today, I drank six 20 oz bottles of water
My Vit D is now at 23 Yeah....it was 3.
What are you eating, how are you moving, and are you drinking?
Hi Jeannie!! I love to see these posts. Thanks so much!!!
Today, I walk around the hallways. I only walked about 15 minutes. I have chest congestion and running a slight temp. Not much energy at all and out of breath. My ex-boyfriend, Tony came over to help me. He carried my laundry to and from the laundry room. I plan on doing some small weight lift exercises tonight.
I already had 120 ounces of water...I will be drinking more yet tonight. Good thing I love water so much!!

Connie,
When you are congested, it's always best not to do anything that will challenge your body for oxygen. Just do stretching exercises until your lungs clear up. Start with your neck then shoulders and arms. Do it sitting down and then do one leg at a time. Do toe lifts to stretch your calves.
I am worried you are not eating enough. I hope your day today is better.
Thank you Jeannie....I appreciate your concern....you are so sweet!!!
I do try to get my protein in. Also, some fruit and veggies. I just haven't had much of an appetite lately.
I do stretching exercises every day, first thing in the morning. I couldn't to my other exercises last night. I was just too week. I was running a slight fever too.
I probably won't do much walking today unless I feel better later.
Love and HUGS.....connie d
hey Jeannie!
you are doing so well with your exercise. My consultation at the gym was no more than a ploy to get me to
sign up for a personal trainer. At 4 times a week and 450 dollars a month, its a bit out of my budget. But i got to get some suggestions on exercises and there is always the treadmill. I am sore this morning, no lie, but its a start!
Brek - Protein drink
S - Greek yogurt
L - Half wendys chili over half wendys potato
S- sf jello
Dinner - hamburger pattie and roasted root veggies (carrots, sweet potatoes and squash)
SF fudge pop for snack, These things are addictive, i may have to find something else for a after dinner deserty kind of thing.
Everyone have a good day!
Girl, I know what you mean about being addicted to the sugar free snacks. I am totally addicted to SF popsicles but they have zero calories so why not?
You really have to watch those gym deals. I get to exercise free because of my job or I would not step foot in one. Walking is still the best exercise. After my surgery, I started out just walking to the end of our parking lot and back and that was a chore. Small steps. Start doing some stretching, which will help your joints and muscles and increase oxygen to those areas that often are neglected. Weights are nice too but don't go buy a bunch of weights, make them out of water bottles. Start with the 20 oz bottles filled with water and later add sand or anything else that weighs more. I use canned tomatoes while I am in the kitchen cooking. I am sure if anyone looked in the window, they would think I was nuts.
Have a good day today.
Hello, everyone:
Here I am...and yes, when I do not feel well, I do tend to isolate as one of my best friends observed yesterday. It's been a battle with my meds..the body aches can be rough so I tend to hunker down and avoid going out . This cannot always work...like this week..I was almost in tears when I for home yesterday. However, today is much better.
Despite the bone pain, I do continue to daily slow stretches and bends, usually with a hand on the counter to steady myself. Eating is another issue. I have to force myself to eat because I still have no hunger at all. I go out for lunch with friends but I usually bring at least half home. If I was not out and was alone at home, I am more likely to not eat at all.
Logically, I KNOW I must eat. My MOUTH gets hungry but not my tummy, not at all. Breakfast is always very difficult for me so I usually have a hot cup of water with a lemon slice or a hot chocolate protein drink.. then a yogurt later...and so goes my day. I must work harder on protein.
I have to leave at 5 pm this evening for as charity event so I have to make myself something easy. I'm making a salad and spaghetti & meatballs for the guys but nothing appeals to me....maybe a scrambled egg on a piece of toast.
Today's menu:
B protein drink
S ho****er w/ lemon
L yogurt
S cheese
D poss. 1 egg & i piece whole wheat toast
S should have hot chocolate protein drink before bed

Dear Nancy,
I know what you mean about the tummy not being in sync with the mouth. Eating is such an issue with us ladies. Your menu looks healthy and filled with good protein.
As always,
I am so happy to see you post and as always, you wear me out with all that you do and make me ashamed of the so little that I do.
