The Long Walk
Last night, DH and I had date night. We went out to eat and then drove across town to watch Captain Philips. We rented the documentary before I left for China and have been counting down to date night to see the movie. Of course, we get to the movie and run into friends of ours, so our date night turned into a double date with us girls sitting side-by-side talking and the men leaning forward or backward to chat over us girls. The movie was good, but I liked the documentary better. Afterwards, we went out for coffee, which reminded me I didn't have a thing for breakfast, so while the men ate pie, yes they did, my friend and I drove down the road to walmart. I always park as far away from the store as possible, but my friend cannot walk so far, so I drop her off. I made a mental note where the car was, and we headed into the store. Buying breakfast food turned into buying plastic storage containers to sewing notions to coloring books and colors to...well, you get the idea. I check my phone and DH has texted me like ten times...what are you guys doing? I said, oh crap, they have eaten their pie and are ready for us to pick them up. My friend waits by the door while I run to get the car...I went all the way down aisle four, aisle five, and aisle six and could not find my car. I felt in my pocket for the lock thing to set off the alarm and that's when I realized that I was not looking for my little red car but was supposed to be looking for a big blue van. Yep, one of those nights. The good news, I got a ton of exercise looking for "my car".
Jeannie....thanks for the giggles this morning!! I can just see tiny little you beeboping up and down those rows of cars....yes you sure did get your exercise!!
I am going out for a walk soon. It is only 39 degrees right now. I hope it starts warming up a bit more before I venture out. It sure is beautiful out...the sun is shining so brightly....love it!!
Hope you have an awesome day!!
Love to you and hugs too......connie d
Sounds like a perfect way to get exercise. First, parking far from the entrance, and better yet, forgetting where you put the car. Right now, I have to use a Handicap Placard. I'm looking forward to when I don't need it, and can park far away also.
Good Job. Keep up the good work.
