Moving to Maintain
Our brains are conditioned to associate exercise with weight loss, and with all the baggage that comes from weight issues and body image issues, it's no wonder many of us hang up the walking shoes the minute the scales don't drop. I want to remind all of us that when we commit to move, we are not going at it with the idea of weight loss, but we are moving to maintain both our weight loss and our movement. At our age, it is so easy to lose range of motion, so today, what are you going to do to get out of your daily activity and work your joints.
I am walking in the gym. We are having some rainy weather, so I am doing my walking inside. I am also doing Yoga. I've been so lucky to work at a place where I can take off to walk or do Yoga. My Yoga mentor and friend and I are meeting on our lunch breaks and are doing some relaxation Yoga. So today, I am bringing that inside my center and those who want to participate are going to get a few Yoga moves tossed at them. I see the tutors rubbing their necks and shoulders, so I am going to teach some stretching for those areas. Hell, we can do that at our desks.
What are you doing today?
Hello Jeannie....glad to see your post.
I did some shopping and walking in the stores. I came home and after lunch I went out for a walk. I only walked about 20 minutes as it started raining again. I didn't want to get all wet as I already have a sinus infection.
At least I made the effort!
Love you...HUGS....connie d
