I'LL fill you in more tomorrow...........and I so hope that those of you having such life crazy challenges get good news soonl So much love for you here!
ALOHA Karen!!! Nice to see you start this post today!! :-)
Well today it is going to rain...it is 44* right now and it sure looks miserable outside. Calling for rain 100%...yuck!!!!!!
Today is Sweetest Day...gave Rick a card but he is still asleep so he doesn't know it is sitting by him....LOL We celebrated his birthday and also sweetest day the other night when we went out for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Not doing anything else due to lack of money right now. Had to buy the tags for the car and truck so that set us back $124.00. Also have the car and truck payments to make yet. :-/ Money money money lol.
Haven't talked to mom yet since Thursday night. Will be calling her soon and see how she is doing. Thankyou all again for the thoughts and prayers for her!! HUGSSSSSSSS
Nothing else happening so that is it for my news today.
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Aloha Karen and OFF-
Karen- I get the same way at times. Since I got my iPad I just record all the things my brain is telling me I should do and it has helped me to go back to sleep. If the iPad isn't handy then I write on piece of paper. I'm sure tonight I will toss and turn as tomorrow I hit the road and I will wake many times trying to remember if I have done everything that I need to do. Fortunately I have a shutdown checklist that helps remind me of the routine things that I have to do to shutdown for the winter.
Today's chores are minor, just cover the furniture and windows. Mothballs throughout the cabins. Load of laundry. Try to keep from eating junk. I have plenty of healthy food in the house so should be able to avoid binging on comfort food.
It's a beautiful sunny day here in Maine. Sorry Judy. I suspect tomorrow your rain will move here and I will be driving in the rain.
Positive thoughts to all of you who need them. Connie I'm still swinging those chickens for you and the apartment. Jennifer sending positive vibes in the direction of Ottawa. Vickie don't give up hope on Mom moving. It took my Mom a year and half to do the move. Three months before she moved she balked and rejected the apartment she had put money down on, needless to say I gulped but it all worked out she convinced them to give her a duplex instead.
OK I really have to get my butt in gear and work the shutdown checklist. Check in later with all of you.

Good morning Maui Karen.....it is nice to see you start the thread.
Karen....I really understand the not sleeping and things running through your head.....I have it all the time. When it gets bad I just start saying prayers again. Usually that helps me relax and sleep. It helps me to dwell on the great people in my life.
Judy....so nice that you and Rick got to go out and celebrate your occasions. You really have a great guy there and he has wonderful you!!
Cindi....it sounds like you have everything in order and are about ready to go. Thanks for always thinking of me!!
As for me.....I just made Kyleigh brunch. She always wants breakfast sandwiches. Kind of like grill cheese sandwiches. Three kinds of cheese and bacon. They are so gooey and look so yummy!! We both had fruit and I had my Boost....no sandwich for me.
Later today Pam is coming by. We are going out to Sam's Club....a bulk store that has everything! Pam and I might join and share the membership. I want too run over to be sure there is enough things I would buy to make it worth the membership fee. Sam's is open to the public this weekend...no fee required. The lasagna was so good. I ate around the pasta. Tonight is Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. I won't be eating that!!! I will keep out some chicken and broccoli for me to eat.
Wishing you all a wonderful day!! Prayers for many in need. Special prayers for some...Nan, Annette, Jennifer and others.
Love and hugs to all.....connie d
Aloha Karen,
I woke up at my regular time, but fell asleep in my chair coz it was rainy and cold this morning. I went to a ginormous craft show this afternoon. I saw things I never knew existed. Some really neat jewelry made with pieces of maps, or from coins from around the world. I did buy two things. An infinity scarf, so I can copy the pattern to make them as gifts. They're simple enough, I just need the size of the fabric.
Had another disturbing conversation with Mom last night. She can take a conversation down a rabbit trail in the weirdest ways. She holds onto resentments and bitterness, and can relive anger and rage so quickly. She brought up how she feels ripped off by the funeral director who handled my baby brother's arrangements. I told her to cash in my inheritance and use that money for herself. She also doesn't want my sister to take the Pennsylvania Turnpike coming out here next weekend, because of the tolls. She wants her to take I-80 across the northern part of PA. Problem is, the rest areas are practically nonexistant. Where the turnpike has a slew of rest areas.
I'm getting ready to watch the Tigers/Red Sox game. It's do or die for the Tigers. My son teased me about rooting for the Tigers, since he and I are die-hard Phillies fans. I assured him that I would be rooting for the Phils, if they were in it, but they're not. Besides, my son-in-law and grandchildren are from here, so their loyalties are with both teams, Tigers for local, and Phillies, for Mom and Grandma.
Hugs and prayers for everyone,
Trish

Hey Karen,
I'm a little late to the ball game here. I'm still in China and the internet doesn't allow for much freedom. LOL. I take benadryl. I would die from exhaustion if I didn't take the benadryl. I can tell you that any other sleeping medicine kills me with the side effects. And the benadryl serves two purposes: sleep and hypoallergenic stuff.
I hope you are getting rest. I also read the post about moving back to the states to help with your grands...I can tell from my own experience, sometimes distance is the best. I have my grandbabies almost every weekend, holiday, and a lot during the summer and I love them and miss them so much when I am not around them but some weekends, I would like to take a hike without all my babies, if you know what I mean. Think long and hard before you make the move because every day babysitting takes the natural joy out of being a grandmother. I am about to move to Qatar to work at an American university and to be honest, I cannot wait. I can fly the kids to see me on holidays and during the summer and our time will be precious plus I can support them better when I am making so much money.
Goodluck my friend and here's hoping you make the decision that works for you.
