Good Afternoon Judy and OFF-
Had to play town librarian today that's why I'm so late posting. Town librarian closed the library 20 minutes early due to lack of customers. It's a small library, everything is done the old fashioned way and after Labor Day there aren't as many patrons. I had picked out an Iris Johansen book to checkout but while I ran home to get something someone walked off with my book! GRR! Turns out it was one of my neighbors, so I texted her and told her she was a stinker and that I'd pick up the book on my way home.
I've got 20 pounds of apples to dry in my dehydrator so I cut up the first batch and have started the dehydrator. I should finish this batch by Monday night and then the dehydrator goes into storage.
Gloriously beautiful day here in Maine. The leaves are at their peak. This is the last weekend of fishing on the lake, the season closes on October 1 until the lake freezes. Then the ice fishermen move in and put their little shacks on the ice. I've never stayed here in the winter to see that part of the Maine experience. I keep saying I'm going to try it but I'm not sure I could handle the isolation.
Judy glad your shoulder is doing better. It's nice that you have events for your tenants. My mother lives in a senior independent living facility. They have tons of stuff for them to do which makes me happy because otherwise she would be bored.
Connie hope the hip is improving daily.
Cindy P if your worrying about a big storm you must be in the Pacific Northwest. I agree with whomever posted that all doctors and nurses should have to experience drains firsthand so they would be gentler.
Vickie- Like the idea of the rental property for Chris and the boys. Don't let the evil blues take over, rest the shoulder and remember that tomorrow you will talk with Butch. It's not easy having strangers in your house especially under the current cir****tances.
Debbie-kudos to you for being able to go help your friend and relieve her husband. Take some quilting or knitting with you to keep you occupied while sitting at hospital.
I know I've skipped someone. I'm going to enjoy the rest of this sunny day and reflect on the fact that Morgan is now at peace. I hope that her family will be able to have peace from their tremendous pain in the days to come. Positive thoughts to all of you in need of help!

Hello again sistas!
I've been on a baking frenzy today. I had all this fruit that I needed to use up, and the mood just took me to bake. I used to bake all the time. Now I rarely do, but I still enjoy it. Anyway, I figured with an extra man in the house to help eat it all up this weekend, it wasn't such a bad plan.
So I made Paula Deen's fresh apple cake with hard sauce. NOT a low calorie dessert at all! I will only be able to have a very small piece of it. It's soaking in the hard sauce right now.
And I used up some of my bananas making banana muffins. I made large ones and mini ones, which I can freeze and Benny can have them to munch on on the way to school in the mornings.
God, this house smells so good right now!
I'm making spaghetti with meat sauce for supper tonight, along with garlic toast and maybe some green beans. I'll make an extra large batch of meat sauce and freeze some of that too.
Time for me to babysit while Chris goes into town to pick Mike up. Later gators!
