Good morning Pine and everyone.....

Pine....I pray all goes well with Bill's surgery. Keep after Bill so he remembers how important it is to follow doctor's orders after surgery. Vickie did and Butch did a pretty good job following orders. He healed very well.  We know how men think they can go ahead and do anything surgery or not...LOL!! I agree they always want people at the hospital hours before surgery. Most time you sit and do nothing! They could at least leave you in the waiting room and people watch....just kidding! I hope you get some help with the things that didn't get done on the list. I will be watching for updates on Bill's surgery as you can get to a computer. HUGS!!

Jo....hope all is going well for you. No doubt you are crazy busy!!

Carla....I can hear the excitement in your voice!! Your little granddaughter is just a sweetheart. Absolutely perfect!! I am so excited for you!!

Vickie....so sorry about your shoulder. Between you and Judy you are both  in a lot of pain. Prayers that it gets better soon.

Debbie.....so sorry about your friend and all she is going through. I will keep her in my prayers. If I were her husband I would contact the board at that hospital and file a complaint. I would be so MAD! I am so glad she has you!!

Trish....happy to hear you will be ordering a laptop. You will love having internet access again. I am concerned about your heart murmur and swollen feet. I am glad they will be doing an ECHO on Monday, Prayers for you my dear friend.

I am doing okay today. It is very humid today so I will not be walking outside. I have errands to run and I will do some extra inside walking. I am getting a bit concerned about myself. I sure am not getting my energy back after this last hip procedure. I feel so run down and weak at times. Stress probably has a lot to do with it too. Well I best get going as I have quite a few stops to make today. It is just lightly raining now but a harder rain is on the way. I am not good at dodging those rain drops!!

Have a wonderful day today!! Prayers for many OFF friends and families.

Love and hugs to all.....connie d

Good Afternoon Piney and OFF-

Piney -hoping your husband has a good outcome with the knee replacement.  I'm going to have to have that done soon but after reading Debbie's post not sure I want to take the risk.  At the moment the knee is doing well so I'm putting it off.  Will research knee replacement facilities when I'm in Texas this winter.

Carla- congrats on Vinnie, she sounds adorable and you have already moved into grandmother mode based on your post.

Connie- glad you got your car back.

Anyone heard how Jennifer faired with her biopsy?

Vickie- Ice that shoulder and rest it for a day or so.  Benny can hug you and Reese can be cuddled by his mother and father.  You need to rest that shoulder a few days.

Drove to Bangor to see the psychologist about the weight loss issues.  Came home and watched the season premieres of Grey's Anatomy.  Need to jump on the recumbent machine but running way behind today.  My neighbor came down and trimmed some low hanging branches from some of my trees.  He spent 3 hours talking and drinking coffee.  Then another neighbor arrived to borrow cinnamon.

Startling news from Texas, one of my book team has quit her job and is taking another one at the VA in Houston.  So book project has lost a writer.  Oh well, we'll find someone else.

I'm hosting the last Mah Jong session on Tuesday so I have to clean up my horse stall of a house.  I'm also the town librarian tomorrow so I have lots to due.  The transition panic attack continues but not as bad as usual because I know what I have to do and now I'm physically able to do more in less time.  Used to be I could do one chore a day, become exhausted and then have to rest.  Now I can do so much more since the WLS.

I'm sure I forgot some of you.  Positive thoughts to all of you in need.  Hope Eileen is feeling better along with Judy.

Hi Cindy, we were posting same time....I am much better this time round, and described in my post below...thanks for asking, now just the waiting as results dont come to me, they go to my GP and I have to talk to her about whatever the results are.

I notice I am getting headaches, migraine cap-like ones about an hour or two after taking Cymbalta, could be stress headaches as the biopsy saga has been going on since end of June, and I really noticed the headaches over the summer, so maybe I should be more patient before I ask to be weaned off. If biopsy news is good, and headaches disappear, then I know these are from tension and not the Cymbalta.

Cheers
Jennifer

Hello Cindi.....sorry you lost one of your writers. It doesn't sound like that will be a huge problem for you. That is a good thing!

WOW....you are busy....Mah Jong and cleaning the horse stalls, being the town librarian, finding a writer.....I would be totally paniced....how do you do it??

It sounds like you neighbors like to come by to chat. You are such a good neighbor to them no wonder they love you so much.

Have a good evening!!

HUGS and love....connie d

Pine, fingers crossed all goes well....

Carla and the new grand-daughter....so exciting!

Vickie, Judy and Eileen, hope your various pains become more bearable....

Nancy, work on healing your heartbreak.....

Cant remember who else posted, may you all have a better day tomorrow!

Better day today for me...bruising and after pain about 50 % less than in July with failed stereotactic biopsy on that awful table with breast hanging through hole and clamped from underneath. If you have a choice, the ultrasound guided biopsy is just as invasive, but you are more comfortable as lying on your back propped up, and breast is not clamped nor pulled by gravity.

Looking forward to my first shower and changing the hospital dressing, have a bigger hole than last time, today is the day Im allowed. Then need to go grocery shopping as low on things, also need to decide on a dessert as invited to a BBQ tomorrow afternoon, we are having a run of fabulous perfect sunny weather so looking forward to it.

Am afraid it is Indian Summer as we've had our first frost. I am not ready to let Summer go, saw some gueese start to fly south and that always saddens me as I hate the cold and hibernate like a bear.

Jennifer,

Here is a really easy dessert that travels well and tastes like fall.  It is NOT low calorie, but it IS high fiber!

1 box cake mix, any flavor (I used Pillsbury Sugar Free Vanilla Cake Mix)

1 can Libby's pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie filling, just the plain pumpkin)

1 egg

*1 TBSP Pumpkin Pie Spice

*1 c chopped pecans, opt.

Mix all ingredients together by hand until well blended.  Batter will be thick, so be patient mixing.  Spread evenly into a 9" x 13" pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray and lightly floured.  Bake at 350 F for about 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle of cake comes out clean.

Frost as desired or leave plain.  Cream cheese frosting goes well with this.  Very moist cake.

*If you use a spice cake mix, omit the pumpkin pie spice.

*You can leave out the nuts altogether if you're concerned about calories.

Sounds easy Vickie, but will keep for another time. The hostess is a serious Celiac, so am looking at something easy as she once told me chocolate mousse was ok, I made with Lindt Swiss dark chocolate and she broke out in hives next morning: Lindt uses caramel as a sweetener and it has gluten as a preservative, so even a few molecules of gluten set her off.

She does a lot of glutenfree baking for herself so there is bound to be some sort of cake by her. I usually wind up bringing an exotic fruit salad with dragonfruit and maybe Vanilla Haagen Dasz (spelling?) or cream whipped with a few drops of vanilla and teensy bit of sugar....She can put on her cake or not, and others more diet conscious can just have the fruit...

Thanks for the recipe, our Thanksgiving is October 14 so will make it then with the nuts...no celiacs around!

Thanks!
Jennifer
