Commitment to Moving. . .

Oh, hip, hip, hooray!  I did it!  I finally got my butt up to the Y and did some exercise!  Yay!  I feel so much better.

So my new routine is going to be to take Benny to preschool and then head directly to the Y and do my workout before returning home.  I did 40 minutes on the exercise bike this morning.  Nothing too strenuous, but a start.  Plan to work up to doing an hour's exercise total, but not sure which kinds I will do.  There is also a yoga class and I have always wanted to try yoga.

Anyway, I feel like I have made a start at reclaiming my life today.  I have regained 14 pounds and I hate it!  My clothes are tight.  I feel fat and bloated and depressed when I look in the mirror.  So I will fight to reclaim my 100# weight loss and my self-esteem along with it.

Thank you all for inspiring me to try again.  I adore the unwavering love and support to be found here.

Vickie,

I think you will love Yoga.  I swear, Yoga helped with my bladder problems and with my breathing problems.   As much as I resisted doing Yoga, now that I do it, I do it at work, in the shower, you name it, I will do it there.  I think you will find that Yoga will help relax you too.   I am so glad you are taking positive steps to reclaim your loss.   Once you take the first step, the next step will be more logical...I move so let me eat less so my moving will be productive.

Way to go!!!!

Jennifer, sometimes the exercise is healing ourselves and resting to heal is always good. Let's hope tomorrow you will get some pool time.

I did very slow walking and had PT on my knee.   The PT guy is going to do what the weight trainer is doing and that is build up my strength and hope we can put off knee surgery for another year or two.   I did the old woman walk today.  No running or jogging.  After dinner, I am going to do some stretches because it does help.

Laureen,

I am so thankful you are doing this thread.

Way to go on getting that Roxy baby out for a long walk.  I'm like you, I love the early morning.

You inspire me.

We have been trying to save the 3rd cutting of hay we baled - it was to wet.

Every day I have been flipping & moving bales (many 100+ pounds) Some where up in the mow and had to be thrown back down after flipping and fans didn't cool them down.  I have been working 60 to 90 minutes each day on this task.  This has to count as today I saw defined biceps, when bra shopping, even though bat wings were hanging from them.

DH would have done this in the past all by himself as I sa****ching tv and working on the computer.  Now with his "good" knee totally wrecked, I am taking over a lot of the physical work and it is doing me a lot of good.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Morning all!

You all have done a great job of getting your exercise done in a way that is individual to your lives.

It is very impressive.

I had surgery on the 4th and have not started an exercise plan yet. I have a bad knee and am still on full liquids, plus i still have incisions that are healing.

I feel like i have no energy. I hope after i start purees on sunday, i get my energy back.

Hi Jan,

Congrats on being a member of the "Loser's Bench"

At your stage, the best movement is a bit of walking, but since you have a bum knee, perhaps when you can, see if there is a place with a pool you can move in. . . when I started out, I joined a gym with a pool and did all my walking, exercise in the pool.

As for low energy, your body is healing, and if you are making your protein goals (not easy to do) and liquids goals (again, not easy, but sip, sip and sip some more), your energy should increase markedly.

Good wishes to you as you progress on this often wacky journey of ours.

Kind regards, Laureen
