It's Friday!
I remember, when I was working, when I would live for Fridays. I guess I still think in terms of the work week.
Hubby had gallbladder surgery on 9/4. The surgeon had to do an open surgery because he had a big gallstone impacted in the main bile duct. The good news is that it's over. The bad news is that while he was in there, he saw that there was scarring on the liver (cirrhosis) so he took a liver biopsy to confirm. Hubby had NASH years ago before WLS and we thought it was resolved -- but apparently not. Anyway, hubby is going to have to follow up with a liver specialist because the surgeon thinks he should be on liver medication. Also, he said NO MORE TYLENOL -- EVER -- and NO MORE BOTOX for the treatment of migraines. So, not sure what that means for hubby. He sees his neurologist in a couple of weeks to see what else can be done.
Hubby has been home since Monday and is improving every day.
Our dog is doing better too -- thankfully.
I've been reading OFF every day to keep up with what's happening in your lives.
Forgive me for not commenting on your posts individually. Know that I hold you in my thoughts and prayers.

Morning Cindy. . . OFFr's
Your hubby is in my thoughts and prayers to find solutions to the things that are distressing him health wise. . .
Wanted to stop by and do the post for Commitment to Movement. . . and so. . this is me just breezing by. . . it's a Frantic Friday here at work, think part of it is due to the fact that tonight at sundown it is Yom Kippur. . . already put out three "fires" on to the next shortly. . .
Have a great day, one and all. . . gotta run.
Prayers and good wishes for all. . .Laureen

Good morning Cindy and Laureen and all my OFF sistas!
Yes, I used to live for Fridays, too! I still wake up on Friday mornings feeling "at last!" LOL!
Cindy, I am praying for your hubby. Surely things will get better for him soon. He's been dealing with a lot of health issues lately (and so have you!), and that does take a toll on one's mental well being. He's lucky to have you by his side. So glad to hear that your fur baby is doing better now.
Laureen, I had to laugh at the "putting out fires" comment. I had a job like that once! Never knew what was coming from one hour to the next! They will miss you when you are gone.
We are doing okay. Yesterday was a better day all around. Only Chris took Benny for a walk yesterday evening and overdid it a bit. She's a little sore today. But Benny is starting to adjust to the baby. He asks to see the baby all the time and yesterday he wanted to hold him for the first time. He calls him Baby Reese, so it's sinking in that there's another person in our household.
Yesterday the employees at Hobby Lobby gave Chris and Mike a baby shower. Chris was here, of course, but Mike attended as the guest of honor. (Don't think I ever heard of the daddy going to the baby shower before, but it's a brave new world!) Hobby Lobby is really excited over "their" baby! Mike has worked there 6 years and Chris for over a year and they're both well-liked so it apparently was a really nice shower. Tomorrow evening Mike and their mutual friend Andrea (also works at HL) are coming out for a visit and dinner and will bring all the stuff. Also, today is Mike's birthday, so we will have a nice supper and a birthday cake tomorrow night. I need to run pick up a b-day card and Something??? for Mike as well. Any ideas??? Ack!
Next week Mike's dad is flying in to see the baby. His mom can't come because she's already used all her sick leave and vacation days this year taking care of her mother, who is apparently in ill health. But dad is coming and he's already written and asked what he can bring special for Benny. I am feeling much encouraged. Maybe this is going to work out for the best after all.
So Butch and I had a bit of a rough day yesterday, too, but we're good this morning. He's just making me so mad all the time. Maybe, just maybe, the problem is ME. I'm not saying he's not being a bit of an ass, but maybe I'm overreacting a bit. Like you all say, emotions are running high right now. I'm determined to be nicer to him today. And Connie, I hadn't thought about him feeling guilty about leaving me here. You might be right about that. Although he's been leaving me with problems for 30+ years, so I ought to be used to it by now. I've always understood that he had to go make a living for us, and I've tried hard to not resent his job, but lately I'm pretty fed up with the whole thing. It will be good for him to retire this year.
Well, my baby needs me to hold him while Mommy takes a shower. Such hardship for Mimi! LOL! Love to hold that precious baby.
Love you all!
Hello Vickie....we must have been posting at the same time.
I am glad that Mike's family is stepping up. I think this may turn out better after all. Mike seems to care about his son and that is a good thing. The other grandparents sound like they will be helpful too. Thank God for answered prayers!! It is wonderful that HL had a shower for Chris, Mike, and Reese. I have heard that HL treats their employees well. Glad they are so well liked there. It is really nice that the other grandpa is thinking of Benny and including him too.
I am glad things have settled down with Butch. No extra strain is needed now. Too many other things to concentrate on. When does he go back?
Wishing you a Beautiful day! Hug and squeeze Reese and Benny for me!! Wish I was there to do it myself!!
Love you....hugs.....connie d
Good morning Cindy and everyone....
Cindy...I will be keeping your hubby in my prayers. Sorry he is having issues with his liver again. Hope they can find other meds to help him with the pain. So glad the Gall bladder is removed. That alone will make things better for him. Happy to hear the dog is doing better too!! Don't forget to take good care of you too!!
Laureen....sounds like you are having a very busy day at work. Keep putting those fires out...they need you!!
I was so busy yesterday that last night I had very little energy to reply to posts. Sorry ...you know I care.
I finally got my car into the body shop for an estimate. They need to do repairs for the damage done to my car from the bad storm we had in June. I need a new hood, grill, and bumper. The estimate was $1545.28. Glad I only have to pay $50 of it!! It pays to have good insurance!
I don't plan on doing anything much today. Still stiff and sore. I had PT yesterday and that really helped my neck and shoulders.
I will go out for a walk in a bit. The weather is so beautiful today! Cool at 55 degrees this morning. A high in the low 70s. Great walking weather.
We had a major cable outage in our area Wednesday evening until last night about 7:00. I hate not being able to get on the internet. I can on my phone but it is so hard to type much on there. Hope it doesn't happen again!
All is good with my family....I count my blessings for that. Still praying I can get to Iowa soon and see Nic and Gracie....still not a go yet!! It makes my heart break! I am missing them so much. Thank goodness for phone calls!
Wishing you all a beautiful day!
Prayers for so many of our OFF families and friends. Sure wish we could hear from Nan about Morgan and how things are going there. Anyone have any news??
Love and many hugs to all....connie d
Hi Cindy and my OFF family:
Friday is just another work day for me; my weekend is Tuesday-Wednesday.
Sorry for your hubby's problems. Hope they can be resolved. Glad the dog is doing better.
Vickie, I've been to baby showers with the hubby there (and this was back in the early 80s). We had a blast. It was a work shower for a coworker's wife, so he was there and so was she. He was a nut; we laughed a lot over his antics.
Connie, hope you will be feeling better now.
Me, not much going on. Back to work tonight again. Slept OK with the CPAP, other than the strap bothers my face.
Have a good day everyone.
Hello Eileen....yes the pain is much better today. The PT always helps. I went in Wednesday and they did trigger point injections. When I say injections I mean plural!! They inject a needle over 20 time in all the spots on the upper back and base of the neck to release the spasms. When I say 20 I mean 20...I lost count after 20...they tell me it was more. I had tears in my eyes. My legs were jumping. It hurt so bad but WOW has it helped! WOW...I have all the fun...LOL!!
Glad you are adjusting to the CPAP. I hope I NEVER need one!
Have a good night at work tonight!
Love and many hugs....connie d
