Welcome Baby Boy!
Whew! What a wild 24 hours we have had! We have a brand new baby BOY in our family--Reece Andrew! He's absolutely adorable and I've put pics up on FB if you want to see. I'm Vickie Gibson Poe, for our newbies. Feel free to friend me there.
Mother and baby are doing fine. Chris did have to have a c-section again, and she wasn't too happy about it, but turned out it was a good thing she didn't try to deliver vaginally. Her uterus was stretched so thin at the site of our previous c-section scar that the doctor actually cut the baby's head just a little when she made the incision today. Wow.
But little Reece was born healthy and squalling and HUNGRY! He latched on immediately and nursed a long time. But the main thing is they are both healthy. Baby weight 7 lbs, 15 oz, and was 21 1/2 inches long. He's gonna be a tall one!
So I have until Wednesday afternoon to get things ready here for baby. Gonna be a busy, busy two days. Already stopped at the storage building and got the box with Benny's newborn baby clothes and have them washing. Got the linens and blankets washed for the bassinet and the port-a-crib. I did already wash some of the new pink things, so we'll just have to re-gift them in the future. Got a few other pink things that still have their tags and I'll return those.
Benny was a real little trooper. Butch and I were away camping last night when Chris went into labor, so he had to go to the hospital with Christie and Mike. He's already down for the night. I'm not far behind either! Just waiting to flip the laundry and then I'm going to bed, I don't care how early it is.
Anyway, Benny was a bit confused about having a new baby BROTHER. He was all prepared for a baby SISTER. LOL! He doesn't have any idea how much his little world is fixin' to change, does he? I'll try to make it as easy on him as I can.
I'll try to keep up with all the posts, but I'm just too tired to read them all tonight. Love you all!
Oh my Dear Vickie, what a whirlwind merrygoround you are on, and Butch will escape to his work again, maybe even decide to sign on for another year just to get occasional month's vacation away from new grandson and short nights in the house? You are going to be so busy and Chris is lucky to have you as her devoted Mom.
Kudos to you Vickie!
Hugs

LOL, Jennifer! Well, you see, Chris had her 1st ultrasound 4 days ago and things were rather crowded "in there" and the doctor couldn't really tell what the sex of the baby was. So she told Chris she was 70% sure it was a girl. Ha! yeah, right.
I told Butch he was just a rat trying to escape a sinking ship! LOL! I wish I was the one going off to work and HE was the one staying here for the next month.
Vickie,
Babies are the joy of life, so glad you are enjoying your new grandson, your pictures have you all gaga. . . I pray that the trials ahead are bearable and that maybe Chris will not go off the deep end. . . miracles happen and maybe one is in order here. . . heck the baby being born healthy is just one, so let's pray for more . . .
Much love coming at you and the newest member, as well as those members already here. . .
