Weight loss and Menopause
The only way to lose weight, as you know, is to decrease caloric intake and increase output. I'd suggest keeping a food journal for a week and look at those times you seem to be eating, what you are eating, how much you are drinking, and also what types of activities you are doing. The, the next week work on the intake...cut back fat and high calorie...increase the pace of your exercise and the number of days you exercise. Walk every other day and maybe do weights on the days you are not walking.
While we do lose weight pretty effortlessly over the first year, our bodies adapt and we, like everyone else, must cut calories, increase water, and exercise.
Start with a food journal.
I went thru real menopause which thru my already hard time with weight go out of all control and is why I started the WLS journey in the first place. I didn't make it under 200 with the band and was considered a success. I have had the VSG since January. I am below the goal they set for me put am 15 pounds above normal.
When you say the last 20 pounds is this a personal goal or their? Is your goal a realistic goal for you? If so, up the protein. water and expenditure. The biggy for me is to journal everything I eat, drink and do.
One person reported on another thread they could lose their last 10 pounds, come to find out those "last 10 pounds" put her at a underweight bmi.
