Good morning everyone....

Sorry you are stuck with me starting the thread again!! I know everyone is so busy. Trish is having computer issues and can't post. She left a message on Facebook. She asked to keep her updated. I am computer illiterate and don't know how to do that. If anyone can send her posts please do in a PM on Facebook. Thank you!!

I am going back to Pam's again today. Bitter sweet!! I so want my own place. Pam is just wonderful!! I miss my own things..... especially my bed and my kitchen!! I need to make calls tomorrow....this is getting to be too long a wait.

I am not sure I will be able to get back to anyone later today. If I can this evening I will.

Have a wonderful day!! Prayers for many in need.

Love and many hugs to all...connie d

Morning Connie and OFF family yet to come in!!!

My son David and his girlfriend Renee were here over the weekend and we went yesterday to get the new puppy. OMG!!! He is almost 18 pounds already!!!! Just turned 8 weeks old and he is a biggie!!!!! His breed is a Bernese Mountain Dog. He should go to about 110 pounds or so. We got to see his parents and they are HUGE!!!!! We also got to see another pup that was 8 months old...OMG!!!!!! Talk about BIG dogs!!!! LOL The puppy is already housebroken...nice!!!!!!! Talk about "landmines" LOL told David to wait til he gets bigger...NEED A BIG SHOVEL!!!!!!!! Sad to see them leave this morning...Bandit he got along fine yesterday with the pup but today was not a good one!!! He ruled the apartment and was not backing down!!! Bad Boy!!!!!!! But then Bandit has an attitude and will never change. Sighs.

Arm is feeling better?? Still sore at times ALOT but I am getting used to it. Renee said she also had a frozen shoulder back when her son was a baby. OMG how did she handle a little baby with a sore arm like this?????? She told me to take extra Vitamin D as it will also help. So I am now taking my vitamin D and hope she is right. I go see the dr in the morning and I think I am going to try the shot. Why not? Maybe I can feel even better with it. Then maybe not...going to chance it.

Need to go lay down and rest some more. Benedryl is really helping me sleep at night and right now I can take a nap...might as well nothing to do today but relax.

Anyone know how to cook a venison neck roast?? David brought me one and I have no clue how to cook it...boil it up and make some stew or something?? I know it will have a ton of bones in it...

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

Judy,

Cook it just like you would a rump roast.  I usually put a little olive oil in a large pan that can also go in the oven, I throw a dices onion and some garlic in the olive oil and let it cook.   I also cook some bacon in there to get as much bacon fat in the mix as possible because deer meat is usually without a lot of fat.   After the bacon has rendered, throw the deer meat in and add a can or two of chicken broth or beef broth.   You can add more bacon to get some more fat or put some vegetable oil in as well.  Then, put the pan covered in the oven and let it cook till the meat falls off.  I usually add about a cup of a good red wine.  Once the meat is done, I take the meat out, and drain the vegetables that I may have added like potatoes and carrots, and then I make some brown gravy with the drippings.

It is very good.

Connie-

Sorry you haven't found a place of your own yet.  Make those calls tomorrow, maybe something will turn up.  Look into house sitting for snowbirds if nothing else, they'll start leaving for warmer weather soon.

Rainy and drab here in Maine today.  Perfect day for being lazy or for quilting.  At the moment the body is telling me to be lazy but I'll probably get in gear around noon or so.  Yesterday I finished piecing one baby quilt.  Sandwiching it with batting and backing was another thing however.  Gotta clean up the loft so I can use the cutting table completely and get everything sandwiched without wrinkles.  Hope to cut another quilt today.

Worked on the book project yesterday for a while identifying which pictures have been selected in the master index.  Serendipity struck Friday.  Someone saw the website and volunteered to identify birds and snakes.  Then a second person emailed the book email saying they could help with flower identification.  I had been starting to wonder how we could get it all done in time.  Maybe you all felt my sigh of relief on Friday.

Been trying to practice my mindful eating since I went to my first class Wednesday.  You're supposed to turn off all outside distractions, no TV, computer, book, etc...  Look at the food and feel it.  Smell it.  Taste it.  Feel the mouth sensations.  Listen to the sounds.  I feel a little silly but I'm trying.  The struggle is eating without the TV or computer on.  If nothing else it is making aware that I am gobbling my food and shoveling.  I'm forcing myself to put down the fork.  I think I'm also getting back in touch with my body cues.  Definately noticing the fullness feeling again.  Most important learning from the first class, there are no forbidden foods and perfection is not a requirement.  We'll see...I have another class on Wednesday again.

Well that's it from soggy Maine.  Lows in the 30's again tonight.  Have the fireplace all laid and ready to go.  Postive vibes to all of you who are hurting or struggling with issues.  Enjoy your Sunday.

Morning all,

Short but sweet update!

Hubby had his surgery (sleeve) on the 3rd and is doing great, in fact he is probably in better shape than I this morning. I am jut exhausted from being at the hospital off and on for 3 days this week and running errands and appointments in the interrum. Very sinusy and allergy ridden today, didn't sleep much at all last night and coughing til it has made me sick to my stomach.  Not sure what they are going to tell me tuesday morning at my class or in PAT, we shall see. Take Hubby tomorrow morning to get his drain tube out so I pray everything is good there.  Surgery on the 17th as far as I know right now.  More to come.  Take care all!      Karen

Hi Connie,
I'm trying to post again. My problem right now is that I can read the messages here, but when I try to reply, or post, most of the time my message doesn't go through. I'm able to send e-mails and Facebook messages with no problem. Just posting here is a problem.

If anyone's willing to give me their e-mail address, and I can send them my daily check in, and they could copy and paste my messages here, I'd be grateful.

Have no clue when I'll get back on a computer.

Hugs,
Trish
