Happy Saturday...guess you have to tolerate me another day!
Good morning/afternoon everyone....
There seems to be quite a bit of emotion here today. We all love and care so much for each other. It sure shows!!
I am here alone today. Everyone is at the boat/lake....sailing. They won't be bac****il tomorrow afternoon/evening. I am not doing much. I went for a walk....it got too hot and humid to go as far as I wanted. I just threw some couch pillows in the washer. Those teenagers are always spilling something...LOL. I plan on reading and relaxing. I go back to Pam's tomorrow sometime.
Wishing you all a beautiful day!!
Many prayers for OFF friends and families today! Some very special prayers as well.
Love and many hugs to all...connie d
Connie-
Glad you are enjoying your visit with the daughter. Yes lots of emotion today on the forums must be the season.
I went to my mindful eating class this week and I'm diligently doing my homework practicing mindful eating. I turn everything off and sit with my food. I study it, I smell, I taste it, I chew it. Really hard work to do this without any distractions like a book, TV or computer. I'm also going to meet with a pyschologist for the remaining time I am here in Maine for some one on one to deal with the emotional issues. I had a tool and it worked very effectively the first 18 months after surgery but now I have to get back in touch with my body cues about eating.
Spent today washing more fabric for a baby quilt. Also pieced the quilt that I cut the other day. I sandwiched it with the batting and backing but I have to do that part over again cuz I got wrinkles in the backing. Tried redoing it twice and then decided to quit for the day and try again tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a good quilting day as we're supposed to have rain most of the day.
As I look across the lake today I can see the changes in color of the trees. I don't think the colors will be spectacular this year because we've had so much rain. It seems funny that it is almost fall again. I felt like the summer flew by even though I sat in a chair for most of the summer. Oh well, live and learn.
Positive thoughts to all of you who need the support.

Hello Cindi....I have been having a wonderful time at my daughter's. Spending time with my grandson has been such a blessing!!
Glad you mindful eating class is going well for you. I need to take your advice and eat at the table. I am so bad at eating in the recliner or at my computer desk. Food is so much better when we concentrate on it and enjoy the flavors too. Thank you so much!!
Love and hugs....connie d
Connie- I'm not sitting at a table to eat. My RV doesn't have a dining room table anymore, converted that area into a computer/office area. So here in Maine I'm still eating in the recliner but I'm turning off TV, computer and other outside distractions to practice. Thank you for your support, I really want to lick this regain and get back on track. Cindi

HI Connie! Weekends often seem so quiet here on the board. Today was spent doing laundry (I put it off too long, now it is CatchUp time), creating invitation flyers for our Sept Dinner meeting for BPW NIAGARA, writing "thank you letters" to all our participants(90) from our big women's event, to the sponsors, the food trucks, the winery, the brewery and to two colleges that not only participated but now are asking to work with me to empower their young female students! WOW! Be careful what you wish for, you might GET it! So now I am creating a full day of mini-workshops, calling in a number of my professional friends and peers of various skills and creating a full day, or maybe even a weekend of education, empowerment and fun for them.
JB made a huge batch of "Gestoffe Peren" which is somewhat like simmered/stewed pears..all by himself! I woke up and the house smelled of cinnamon and tears...omg, what a shock..he had a very old recipe in Dutch that his Mother used to make for them in Holland when they were kids. To put this into perspective, JB makes a MEAN piece of TOAST...see why I'm shocked? Not too sweet so even I can tolerate it. We hate wasting food, especially since he almost starved to death during WW2 in Holland so food never goes to waste here.
Dan told us today that he is flying to Oshawa a Diamond DA-40 on Sunday!
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DA40 He will be the PILOT one way as he is working on his private wings.....he already has his recreational wings....I am so excited(but nervous) for him!!
Sunday, I am driving to Port Colborne (about an hour away) for the afternoon to attend a gathering in the country..a potluck..so I am taking PEARS! I know I SHOULD Stay home and work but I choose to go and enjoy a day in the countryside instead with friends. JB and Derek will be busy working outside on rebuilding the dump-truck anyways. When I get home, the pot roast will be ready (in the crockpot)...got lots of tomatoes and cukes from the garden for salads and "gestoffe peren" for desert *s*
I didn't eat enough today ..I'm finding it so hard to force myself to eat lately especially when I feel so tired. I had a protein drink...now I'm eating some yogurt(sharing with LilyRose) before bed... I have no hunger and food just makes me feel nauseous lately. BUT I did take in alot of water(although it tastes so metallic) I know I must drink and my mouth gets so dry because of my meds. Tomorrow, I will eat better. I do take my supplements too. Maybe I will have some soup, that is usually easy to swallow when I am not hungry. So ironic, the fat lady has no appetite....lol.
I am almost ready for bed, just one more load of laundry to fold then I will finish the rest tomorrow. Oreo has become must more attached to me lately too and lays down with me when I go up for a nap.
Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Sunday! *s*
Nancy...yes weekends are usually slower. This whole summer has been slow. So many people with issues to deal with and still trying to get some family time in.
Hope you got your laundry caught up. I am strange...I love to do laundry! You are always so busy with your BPW...that is a good thing. Hope you got your notes done too. It is wonderful that the colleges are asking for their young students to get involved with BPW and you. They will enjoy the workshops!!
Good for Dan...he will be earning those wings!! I understand that you are excited and nervous for him...I would be too!!
Hope you are enjoying the Potluck (Sunday). They are always so fun. The pears sound wonderful!!
Love and many hugs...connie d
