Commitment to Moving
I looked up easy yoga and will see if something works for me. Most of the exercises recommended getting down on the floor. That is difficult with my two replacement knees (hard to get back up). I would have to do anything that involves lying down on the bed. I'll look at some of them and see if I can handle something. I do some therapy exercises in bed.
I wish I could get back in the pool, but it just costs too much.
I had a meeting downtown Niagara Falls. Although I have a special handicap parking permit to park right out front but I chose to park further. It may not seem like much, but with my badly swollen feet and legs, with the help of my cane, I traversed the wobbly gravel driveway instead.
Then, had to stop after to pick up a few things at a BIG drugstore. Walking on hard surfaces make my legs ache but I decided that I would go up and down EVERY aisle even though I only needed three things...just a bit of extra walking but I felt good about adding those extra steps into my day.
Every little bit helps!

Nancy,
Remember, don't over do it. Walking is good only if it doesn't harm you. I admire your reserve to park out of the handicap area, but don't park too far. I would love for you to try doing some stretching exercises while sitting down. Maybe some head rolls and some reaching for the sun arm stretches. Moving is good and I so love that you take such good care of yourself and make effort to move. I admire you so so much.
Spent a 1/2 hour raking hay by hand. Drove tractor for 5 hours raking hay. Ran back and forth across 30 acre hayfield to talk to DH instead of waiting for him to make it to me.(added that one thinking of lightswitch.) Walked Walmart for about an hour. I sat DH in one spot and ran shoes back and forth for him as he needs both knees replaced (right on for the second time. I am picking up more of the farm work as his knees get worse.
You sound like me. I walk my DH into the store and find him a place to sit and I go get all the shopping done. Then, he and I walk slowly to the car. Sometimes, I go to the car and drive up to get him. You are doing a lot of manual labor on top of walking so you are burning calories and building muscles. Way to go. I am very proud of you.
