Jan's Surgery
Jan's surgery was delayed due to air conditioning problems in the OR. She was scheduled for 7:30 then was postponed until 10:30, and now I am waiting to hear back from her family. As soon as I know, I will let you guys know. Last night, we texted a little and this morning and she was nervous as can be expected. Keep her in your thoughts and, for those who pray, in your prayers. I am up to my head in student conferences so I peek out and then back to work. I will let you guys know and positive thoughts are being sent to Jan.
Thanks guys, the good thoughts got me through a rather long anxiety filled morning wait!
All else was uneventful. Walked the afternoon after my surgery, all tests normal, went home on the 5th.
I was in a lot of muscle pain from the gas at first, but its almost gone today. Today was my first day on full liquids. No
temperature issues or any issues with what i ate today. I am now keeping a pen and pad
on me at all times to ensure i am at least getting close to the required fluid, vitamin and protein requirements.
All in all, a good start. Special thanks to my "angel" lightswitch for her support during this process.

Glad to hear from you! Come and post with us daily as you take your first baby steps. If you need to rest, do so. I took a nap every single day for the first 2 months after my surgery. I was surprised that I needed to do that, but always listened to my body and rested when I needed to. Walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip, sip! You're off to a great start. This time next year, you won't recognize your new self!
