Rainy Wednesday!
Just got back from hospital and breast health center, had another 10 mamos in two sets of 5, as doctor asked for second set of views after seeing first 5.....then had me go into ultrasound room to see if clear views could be done...yup, so am slated for another biopsy attempt in another 2 -3 weeks, using ultrasound,( so not the hateful deep core biopsy on that wretched table with a hole for booby to drop through and get clamped from underneath)....so my suspense continues. I was told that I am an unusual case, very intereting was said to me by mamo techie who asked Doctor to attend the ultrasound session which was just to see if good images might work for another biopsy attempt.
Not sure if I should be flattered I am an unusual case, or feel sorry for myself for having possible ductal carcinoma in situ as a long line, or calcium precursor, in unusual location making me a person of interest. If they can't get a biopsy next time, I am being referred to a surgeon.
So, in summary, am glad I am being followed by the breast health center, and they are determined to get a biopsy one way or another....hopefully I have clarity soon!
Cheers
Jennifer ( today not as good a day as yesterday was!)
Glad they are being diligent and following you. Did I ever tell you about my aunt, who at age 60 had ovarian cancer. She had to yell at the doctor to do something about the strange feeling she had (she didn't know what it was at the time) ... she couldn't poop ... something was blocking her bowels. Well, the doc kept telling her it was all in her head, she was just a menopausal woman and told her to go home and have sex with her hubby and everything would be OK. After a few months and more issues, she came back and yelled at him some more. and some more. and even more. (Aunt Bernice was not timid.) Finally, he did some tests on her (this was back in the 70s). She had a mass growing, not sure where it started, but it turned out it was as big as a grapefruit. When they got in there to remove it, they determined it was ovarian cancer and had grown into her bowels (which is typical). Doctor who had sent her to oncologist said, "Well, I guess you were right all along." Yeah, right, you idiot." So be glad they are following up on you, Jennifer. At least you're getting good health care.
BTW, Aunt Bernice lived until she was 91, died in 2009. She was a tough old broad. Two days after she died, her great-granddaughter was born.
Cheers, jennifer
Judy- You did tell the Ortho about your WLS right? That might make you more sensitive to the pain meds. Hope the Zofran helps.
Jennifer- Hope that your biopsy with ultrasound is more successful than the core biopsy.
Back from Mindful Eating Class. Now have homework and drive back to have one on one with pyschologist tomorrow.
