The party's over Tuesday
Good morning my sistas!
Well, all my chickies left yesterday, so I guess the party's over. We had the best weekend with Carrie and her friends. My, those young people can PARTY! I remember when I could do that, too, but no more. I'm SUCH an old woman these days.
Anyway, the return to reality bites this morning. Chris has taken Benny to school. Butch is getting ready to leave for Nacogdoches today. He has a doctor's appointment there tomorrow morning and then he's going to spend a couple of days there checking on the farm and his deer lease. Me? Oh, well, I have multiple sets of dirty sheets and towels to wash today, plus it's time to deal with the checkbook and paying bills. Fun, fun.
Judy, I am praying that the doctor can finally do something for your pain today! Please keep us posted.
Read all the posts from yesterday, but CRS has occurred and I won't attempt individual notes this morning.
Love you all!
Good Morning. I've been absent as we've had a bit of an emergency here. Hubby had WLS in 2006. Over the last year, he's had a stomach ache off and on. I've urged him to go to the doc --but you know how it is. He had a very bad bout on Saturday night with the pain lasting 11 hours. I wanted him to go to the ER but he refused. (big sigh) Then, Sunday night it started again. I dragged him to the hospital. We spent eight hours in the ER while they ran tests and did an ultrasound of his gallbladder. Dr. said it was "inflamed". They admitted him and since then we've found out that he has an elevated white cell blood count and elevated liver enzymes. So, they've decided that his gallbladder is infected -- probably brought on by taking too many Tylenol-based migraine meds. No gall stones. He may or may not have to have surgery.
Our dog is still sick. We've been struggling with his chronic E-IBD and Addison's.
So, I've been absorbed in all of this and not posting. I've been so busy that I haven't even visited OFF to see what everyone has been up to since Saturday. I've missed you all.
Vickie, I'm glad that the girls had a great time. It will be nice to return to a normal life -- especially now that Benny is in pre-school. Hope he's adapting and loving it.
That's it for me for now. Take care, everyone.
Cindy P.
Cindy P, {{{HUGS}}} and prayers for your sweet hubby! Hope he doesn't have to have surgery, but I suspect he will be better off without his gallbladder. I had mine removed with my first WLS. Haven't missed it a bit. And I hope your little puppy starts to get better soon, too!
Also, Tylenol is not a "safe" as they make it sound on all the ads. When Christie had her first suicide attempt (at age 15--many years ago now), she swallowed a bottle of Tylenol. She nearly died from liver failure. It's definitely a dangerous drug!
Also, my dad was a heavy drinker (I think alcoholic), and between the booze and the Tylenol, his liver was almost gone.
Just putting the information out there for all of us WLS who are told to take Tylenol because it is "safe".
Please keep us posted on how your hubby is doing today, okay? Love you, sista!
Good morning Vickie and everyone....
Vickie...it must seem awfully quiet there today. So glad everyone had such a great time!! Partying like that is for the young...I am too old too!! Although...really...I never ever have had a hangover and I sure should have...not necessarily a good thing!! Hope all goes well with Butch's doctor appointment. Hope Benny is adjusting to his new adventure. I am sure you have plenty to do after all that company. It is great having them there but there is a lot of extra work. HUGS!!!
Cindy....hope your hubby gets his tummy problems taken care of soon. Gallbladder pain can be so awful. I had the same problem. They said mine was inflamed but couldn't see stones. They finally had to take it out. There were very fine stones that were causing the problem. Sorry your dog is still sick. Poor little guy! Hope you have a good day.
As for me...I took my grandson to school for his first day back today. He is the one I call Sugar Boy...he is sweet as sugar!! He gave me a big hug and kiss right in front of his friends and said " love you Nana". At 15 years old that is almost unheard of...LOL!! I can't believe he is in 10th grade this year. He is my youngest grandson. Gracie is in 1st grade now. I spoke with her a couple days ago. She absolutely loves school. She said math is her favorite subject but she also said she loves it all too. She is a social butterfly. She loves being around others! These two are the last in school now....where has time gone!
I went and picked up some fruit this morning. That is about all there is to do. I will sit out on the deck and read a book. Sounds like heaven to me. We had a honeydew melon that was starting to go bad. I cut it all up and threw it in the back yard closer to the river. The birds, rabbits, deer and all will enjoy it. I love watching them. There are so many wild animals here.
Have a beautiful day everyone. Know you are loved by me.
Prayers for many in need...special prayers for Nan and Morgan! I sure hope we hear something soon. I am worried.
Love and hugs to all....connie d
Hi Vickie and my OFF family:
I have been reading and not posting ... been getting up late and then going to work. And now I have a cold. Don't get them often anymore, but I picked this one up somewhere. It started Sunday ... woke up feeling like I had something caught in my throat, like a hairball (I can only express this in terms of a cat, I guess). Nothing I could do seemed to expel it. It got worse as the night went on. I would hack up some mucus but not enough to make a difference. Went home, took some Mucinex DM, had some Celestial Seasonings Wellness Tea (what I usually take when I get a cold) and hoped I would feel better.
Well, I didn't but at least the mucus loosened up. I was coughing up the crap, which was good, and now it's in my nose and sinuses, too. And my ears are popping. So if I'm lucky, it will be gone in a week. I made it through hell night (when I have to do two sports sections) and now I have two nights off. Not going anywhere. I had an appointment to pick up the CPAP that the sleep doc wants me to try, but I feel so lousy I just canceled it. I didn't want to spread my germs around.
Anyway, hope everyone has a good day. I did strip the bed, washed the comforter, sheets, mattress pad and now am doing the regular laundry. It's about the limit of my activity today.
Evening OFF family...well I DID call the dr and the woman that took my info that I talked/told her about said she would give it to the dr and soon as he looks it over and tells her what he is going to do she will call me back. Well I am STILL waiting for that call back!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Got a phone call from boss lady today. Our old manager at our apt complex we moved from to here killed herself. Seems she had been taking ALOT of money and was caught!!! She was fired one day and took overdose the next. So sad!!!! We were asked if we would be interested in going back there to take that complex over. NO WAY!!!!! We love it here!!!!! OK no problem. She said she might move Shirley and Mike to that one and I am sure we will be asked to take over the one they leave. Meaning we would have this one and that one. Offer me the right money and we will do it!!! Its about 30 minutes away one way. Nice small place. Why not? IF its offered to us that is. Our old complex is also up for sale and if it sells would we still have that job?? No we will stay here where we love it!!!!!!!
Was busy as all get out today doing rents...did a new lease/move in also today. Had to cancel my therapy for it but oh well. Doing it at home hurts like heck with no pain med in me!! Going to call drug store see if the dr did call in something else and they FORGOT to call me....sighs........
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
