Early Thursday sunrise
Good morning sistas!
I wish you all could have been here this morning to watch the sunrise with me. It is another glorious (if HOT) day in the Hill Country.
Up a little early today because I have a dentist appointment first thing. One of the hardest parts about moving is changing doctors. Last year I managed a couple of trips back to Nacogdoches and continued seeing my old dentist and doctors there, but this year I need to get established here. So new dentist today, new OB/GYN next week.
Benny is acting out this morning and declaring that he does NOT want school today. I figured we would go through this a time or two before the new routine gets established. I think he genuinely enjoys school once he gets there. But this morning he wants to lay around and watch TV. Poor little fella. He doesn't know he'll be going to school for the next 20 years or so.
Well, better get myself moving along. Going grocery shopping for this weekend after the dentist. Looking forward to having our company arrive tomorrow. Gonna be a fun weekend with all my big girls!
Love you all!
Hi, Vickie. Good morning to you!
Sorry that Benny is acting out. He'll get the hang of his new schedule soon. Our son would, occasionally, say he didn't want to go to school when he got older but those early years -- well, I can remember him grabbing my legs and screaming "please don't go". It's enough to rip your heart out of your chest isn't it?
We moved to the coast in '03. Since then, we've been migrating all of the doc appointments we can over here. For specialists, we pretty much have to go to the valley (an hour and a half away). That's the price we pay for living here. We love the weather here and having the ocean so close so it's worth it. We try to combine dr. appts. when we have to go to the valley and always include a stop to Costco and/or Home Depot while we're there. Always multi-tasking to offset the long drive.
Hope your gathering this weekend with the girls is a really good time for all.
Good luck at the dentist this morning.

Hello sistas!
Trying hard to accomplish something this afternoon. I think all I am doing is moving the piles of messes around and around! Somehow they are not disappearing as they ought!
Don't know how many of you saw on FB, but I think Laureen's brother has passed. She asked for prayers for him this morning. Then this afternoon she posted a picture and someone posted a RIP message below it. Laureen, so very sorry for your loss, hon. Praying for you and your family.
Trish, glad to hear that you are feeling better this afternoon. Connie, I hope your PT and doctor's appointments go well. I'm glad you're getting away for the weekend. That will be good for you. Judy, LOL at the story of your little brother! Family legends, hmmm? Bet he was a stinker! I'm glad the new pain med is working for you. Take one BEFORE you go to PT, okay? Cindy, I am well familiar with having to make a long drive to get somewhere. 30 years in Nacogdoches taught me that! Always having to drive to Houston or Shreveport to do major shopping, airport, and/or hospital and doctor visits. But I love rural life! It's a joy to just be 30 minutes from San Antonio now. Piney, enjoy your grandsons this week and good luck at the goat show this weekend. Cindi B, I think the mindful eating class sounds well worth the time and expense! I wish there was something like that offered here. I'll have to do some checking. Jo, hope things are going well with the triplets today. Eileen, I guess you must be back at work today.
If I've missed someone, please forgive me. It's been a long day. My dentist appointment this morning took TWO HOURS. That's the most thorough exam I've ever had in my entire life! And the dental hygienist nearly killed me. My teeth felt like they'd been ripped out by the roots and then shoved back in by the time she finished! And I don't have periodontal disease either. Ouch! I had to eat a mushy banana and cottage cheese for lunch. LOL!
Better get back to my cleaning. Company will be here in less than 24 hours. Yikes! How did I get this far behind schedule this week?
Love you all!
