Good Morning,
It's gonna be a warm o e here. I will say it's been a mild summer for the most part.

Almost done getting things done so the place will be decent for my recuperation period.

I have to be at the hospital very early for surgery tomorrow. So, not sure I'll be able to post. I may get a message out there on Facebook. I'm Patricia Anne Reilly if you and I aren't already friends there.

Huggles,
Trish

Good morning Trish and all my OFF sistas!

Trish, praying for a successful and uneventful surgery for you tomorrow.  You are going to feel SO much better after you recover!  I always admire your spirit and the way you plan ahead for yourself.  You're a very brave lady!

Okay, I'm gonna make a statement here, and I hope I don't ruffle any feathers, but I actually LIKE our daily thread, just the way it is.  I love coming here daily.  I love reading about everyone and their families and work and situations in life.  I have never felt a lack of support OR CONTENT here.  If I have a WL question or concern, I share it here without fear of reproach or censure.  I always receive help when I do.  But I also love sharing my daily life with my friends on OFF.  My life is more than WLS, and I would get very bored if that's all anyone ever talked about.  I don't feel there is a lack of support or information here.  I have never experienced a feeling of failure or bitterness from anyone here either.  If certain people are unhappy with the board, they have a couple of choices: start a new board, start a new thread here, or just go along and participate with the rest of us.  But please stop with all the *****ing about how things were so much better in the old days.  I've been hearing that same refrain ever since I joined this board almost 3 years ago.

So, I'm sure I'm gonna get some feedback on that one, but so be it.

Today was Benny's first day of school!  Hip hip hooray!  I don't have to go pick him up until 2:30 this afternoon.  I am having the most wonderful morning doing absolutely NOTHING.  The silence in the house is GOLDEN.  I had my ProJoe on the front deck, I've checked all my email and web sites on the computer without interruptions, and had an hour's conversation with my sweet husband this morning.  This is a GREAT day!  LOL!

Lots to do this week in preparation for the Waco invasion, as Butch calls it.  Got 5 young women coming for the weekend.  Clean house, wash sheets, grocery shop, etc.  I have finally poked Butch into doing some of his chores, too!  Oh, and I have a new dentist appointment Thursday morning.  Got a new OB/GYN appointment the following week.  It's rather a pain starting over with all new doctors and dentists.  I hope I like these two.

So, I'd better get busy.  Karen, it was good to hear from you yesterday.  I love babies, too.  What a wonderful experience to work with them daily.  I know your prayers are heard!  Judy, hope you have a better day with your pain management this morning.  Just a couple more days until your ortho doctor appointment.  Cindi B, you are having one adventure after another this summer.  Cindy, I hope your puppy and your hubby are both much improved today.  And I hope your test results show nothing serious is wrong with you.  Eileen, I'm glad you had such a nice time at your reunion.  Carla, safe travels for you today.  Getting excited about the birth of your grand!  Oh, and I liked your new haircut, too!  Very flattering.  Jo, Jennifer, Debbie A., Annette, et. al., let us hear from you soon.  Oh, and welcome to our newest friend, Jan.  We're glad to have you here. I hope we hear from all our newbies today.  Please join in ladies and let us get to know you.

Love you all!

Vickie,
I think you might find my reply about the good old days interesting. It's on the other thread.

Trish,

I did and I agree 100%.  I didn't post on that other thread because I didn't want to be accused of personally "attacking" anyone.

You know, I always find it interesting that you and I can be complete polar opposites politically speaking, and yet we manage to be good friends here just fine.  No tension, no drama, no criticisms.  I think that's because of this wonderful OFF board.  It is a haven and a place of peace and acceptance.  I like it just the way it is.

Love ya!

Vic

Trish,

I see you are very proud of your ability to exclude, offend, and stop growth.  Not to worry, I, like so many others, will let you and your little group continue on without moving for improvement.   Brag on about being rude to me...BTW, I am not a whiner...I just wanted to bring more weightloss conversation to the board for the new folks and those who are gaining weight...that is all.   But, I have no desire to spend my evenings trying to make friends with people who have already chosen to hate me.  Party on and eat another brownie...it will make you feel better about yourself.

I was not rude to you. I told you multiple times to contribute what you feel is missing. I was offended that you did not address me as Trish, or include me in the list of those *****plied to threads you started. I welcome new ideas and topics. I just found your original post on this topic offensive, and could have been written in a more positive way. I was not alone.

As I said, post a thread on a topic you feel appropriate. Give it time to catch on.

Jeannie, I also responded to the WLS oriented threads when they were posted, and my participation was not acknowledged by you either.

If you want to bring more WL conversation to the board, by all means, do so!  It would be welcome.  But stop beating us "newcomers" up about our so-called shortcomings.  You are not the leader of this forum, nor can you dictate its content or direction.  Just contribute what you feel is relevant and see if others respond.

I don't think anyone here hates you.  But many of us do resent your abrasive and condescending attitude.  And since I have been a member, you have run several people off of this board with your comments.   I know, because I have contacted them and asked them why they left and they cited YOU as the reason.

And really, the remark about "eat another brownie" was totally uncalled for.  But we've all come to expect such mean-spirited and spiteful remarks from you.  You, dear Jeannie, have a lot of wisdom and insight to offer here, but your own rudeness renders you rather ineffective as a mentor to sensitive newcomers here.

I'm sorry to write such harsh truths to you this morning, but someone has to stand up to your bullying.  We never have a problem here until you decide to make one.  Maybe you should think about that.

Vickie:  Perfectly said.  Thank you for putting words to my thoughts.  I wholeheartedly support your post.

Vickie,

I am not a bully; I do not try to take control or man the board; I don't boss you around; I am none of those things you say that I am.  Many people who come to this board, come here for WLS support.   I only wanted to bring out the idea that there may be some of us who want to work toward bringing more support; in order to do this, we would like support from all members.

I don't know what it is about me that you hate so much, but ever since I came back to the board after being sick and trying to recover, I have been the blunt of your hateful comments.  You also ignore any advice that I have offered to you so to say that I didn't mention your name...I cannot remember one time that you posted on one of my threads, unless it was to pick a fight.

Today, though, I am feeling generous and benevolent...almost christian, something you are familiar with beings how that is your religion, so I will pray for that hateful spirit to be lifted from you; I will ask God to take away your mean spirit and open your eyes and your heart to all members, not just those who you are best friends with.  how does that sound to you?
