Happy Thursday!

Good morning, sistas!

All is right with my world again today.  I am so happy to have my husband home, even if he does have jet lag and was up roaming the house at 2 a.m.  It always takes him (and me) a few days to adjust to Texas time.  I'm just happy he's here.

He's trying to fix my dryer this morning.  The laundry is really starting to pile up.  If he can't fix it, then we'll have to go buy one at Lowe's today.  Don't really want to do that, but we have to have clean clothes!  LOL!  And I don't have room here for a clothes line, so the "solar" dryer option is out.

Hoping that Judy gets some good results/info from her MRI this morning and her doctor can devise a plan to alleviate her pain!  God bless her.

So proud of Cindi B and her kayaking adventures!  Way to go, sista!  That's a big accomplishment.

I know there are others I wanted to comment on, but I'm a bit bumfuddled from lack of a good night's sleep this morning.  Just know that I love you all!

  1. Good morning all. Just thought I'd check in. Morgan is still hanging on. Hospice thought she would be gone 2 weeks ago. I just think she is waiting until the other kids go to school. I just want her out of pain. She never gets out of bed anymore. My heart just breaks. Sorry this is so small, I can't make it any bigger. Well I am finally weaning off of steroids, thank goodness, I have fallen down the stairs 2 or 3 times this weeks. My DH comes home tonight, thank goodness. It is so hard for him to divide his time. Between me & Morgan, but I am so glad he had this time with her. We have had 41 wonderful years together. He has also been a great support for my son., my son also has a guaranteed job when he comes home. With time off for school.
  2. well I am chatty today I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!! Nan

Oh, Nan.  Words fail me.  God calls us all home at some point, but it's so hard to accept, especially when it's a child.  I am praying for you and your whole family.  Thank God that Morgan is surrounded by people who love her and she knows she is loved.  God bless you, sweet friend.

Nancy,

Sweety , I FEEL your pain. Cancer is an insidious, MEAN disease. It breaks my heart that Morgan has tender so much at her tender age. It is bad for us older ones but seems worse for the youngsters.

My prayers to you and yours.

Good Morning Vickie and OFF-

Vickie thanks for the kudos on the kayaking.  Spent the part of the morning with the road guy deciding where to put gravel and discussing water flow issues.  He had an RNY two years before my VSG.  We were comparing notes on regain.  He remarked that it is incredible what we can do since we lost the weight like my kayaking.  He looked at my boulders along my lake front, they're too big to move, so if I want to kayak from my property, I will have to have a special kayak dock built.  I'll mull over that this winter while in Texas.

Nancy H - My heart goes out to your family and to Morgan.  I hope that she passes soon so she is relieved of all the pain.  She put up a brave fight and we can all take a lesson from this special child.  You, your family, your son and Morgan will be in my thoughts daily.

Hope Judy's MRI reveals the cause of all her pain and that she'll be able to get relief soon.

Eileen hope you get your results soon, or maybe you have as I haven't kept up with the thread too well.

Turned hot again and my sinuses are not happy.  Have to go take a Claritan with a decongestant to get rid of this headache.  All my potted plants are struggling from all the rain and now the heat.  Might just be easier to dump all the pots and wait until next year.  The guy who watches my camp and is my handyman came last week and cut down all the leaners from the storm.  Now I don't have to worry about the trees falling on the cabin.   I now have possibilities for expanding my lot if I haul in gravel and dirt but then that's more mowing/gardening work.  I don't think so...

Book project is moving forward, not at the pace that I would like but I'm not going to kill myself trying to be superwoman.  The photoselectors have gone through about 1800 pictures and selected about 700 for the book.  I've got another 500 or so to bucket for the next batch to be reviewed.  I don't think we're going to be short on pictures.  Now I'm gently prodding the writers to get their drafts ready for the editor.

Well, that's about it from Maine.  I'm going to get motivated and get out of this chair.  Positive thoughts for all of you in need, especially precious Morgan!

Hi Vickie and my OFF family to come:

I am up way too early this morning. I had my sleep study last night. They made me go to bed at 10 a.m. and got me up at 5:30 a.m. I was told I slept and had all the sleep cycles, didn't need the CPAP. So I'll just wait for the followup to see what they want me to do. I don't think they'll want anything, actually. Maybe change my sleep med.

Glad you have Butch back home, even with jet lag. I don't have jet lag, just need a nap before work today.

Got my paycheck put on a new debit card so it's all there today and I was able to pay some bills. I'm going to my 40th reunion this weekend ... will have to leave on Sunday to come back because I have to work Monday night doing six sports pages again. But that's OK. I'm glad to be able to go home. Don't know if I'll be able to stop off and see mom.

I stopped off at Walmart on the way home ... only thing open at that time of the morning. Needed some cheese and Fiber-Con and other things ... not a whole lot, but sure added up. Now I can finish off my salsa chicken that has been in the fridge (it needed cheese for the top).

Oh, I heard from the back doc about the MRI ... nothing specific, other than he recommended a drug patch to help with the pain. I'll pick that up before work today.

Oops forgot to hit post. Have a good day. I'm getting spacey.
