Good morning  OFF friends.

Its a wet gloomy looking day in Owosso.   gonna rain  all day I believe.     SO much for lawn mowing so I have the morning free and no idea what to do with it because a canceled interview and  mowing  were on the schedule.   I think  maybe Ill go find a nursing home.  A friend gave me several nice outfits and several lovely warm sweaters and ask I find a nursing home resident in need to give them too.     Helping her and making some senior happy  sounds like a good rainy day project  because we all know it will make  me feel good!!

We are a real problem with fleas in the house so have been staying in the motor home past few days.   bombing the house doesnt seem to help.   2 days later are more!   cats had a few but not to the extend they are in the house.   No idea what to do next.   burn the house down maybe.      We are putting cats back in the house.  we just retreated them with advantage and are hoping the fleas will find them and die!!

Oh the woes we seem to have some days!!

Prayers from our house to yours  with extra prayers for those facing  difficult medical situations.   I do think of you often.

Jo-

I had a horrible problem with fleas this past winter.  Bombed my RV several times and treated cat several times.  Friends recommended shaking Borax on carpet and areas where cat slept, this kills eggs that re-emerge.  Also moth balls in vaccuum bag to kill the eggs.  I also had to get Advantage Plus for the cat.  Good luck.  It took me two months to finally rid the RV of the fleas but planning on bombing when I return to Texas in November.

Jo, I have also heard you can sprinkle plain table salt all over, leave for about 3 days, and then vacuum up.  BUT--you have to sprinkle in all the cracks and crevices, along baseboards, etc.  Don't forget your furniture.  Kind of a mess, but salt isn't toxic to your other pets.  Good luck!

Happy Anniversary Carla!!!  That is awesome.

Good Morning OFF Family,

It is a rainy day here in Michigan.  Not sure how long it'll last.

I have a prescription to pick up later.  I also have some more tidying to do.  It's a never ending battle in my place.

Must scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Good morning Carla and all my OFF sistas!

Happy Anniversary Carla!  Who said it wouldn't last?  LOL!  They said the same thing about Butch and I, and we're at 32 years now.  You and Carl rock!

I'm going a bit stir crazy cooped up in this house with a 3 year old.  OMG.  How many times can we watch dinosaurs???  LOL!  The heat is a bit better today.  It was actually COOL out on the front deck this morning.  We stayed out there a couple of hours before coming back in.

I started a new crochet project yesterday.  Trish, I'm making one of those big granny squares for Benny.  I wanted him to have a special blankie for nap time at preschool.  I already had a bunch of bright primary color yarn, so I'm using that.  It's very colorful and will be totally unique, just for Benny.  He's very excited about his blanket and I have to stop often for him to look at it.

I'm so disappointed that my oldest daughter didn't come down yesterday after all.  I know she's in grad school and they really don't get "breaks" between semesters like undergrads do, but I was hoping she could come for a visit.  Instead she has to get ready for a presentation on Saturday.  I was really wanting the company this week and also it would have been a nice diversion for Benny and me.  But, she and 4 of her girlfriends are coming for Labor Day weekend, so that will be nice.  They call me Mama Poe and I've promised to spoil them all rotten while they are here.

I hope our "sick" ones all feel better today.  Really concerned about Judy and her arm!  I hope her doctor can give her a better pain med today.

Now, come on, sistas!  We have to pull ourselves out of the blue funk.  I think maybe Jo has the right idea.  We need to each find something good to do for another person.  That might make us all feel better.  I'll have to think what I can come up with.

Love you all!

Afternoon OFF family...well I finally got ahold of my dr today and he called in a new script for me...VICODIN!!!!!!! Just have to pick it up when it is ready!!! I also have to go see a ortho specialist!! Waiting for the appointment yet. Wonderful. More money to spend. Sighs....tomorrow is therapy again. I also do it at home and let me tell you I hurt after doing it!!!!!! My arm IS moving more but OMG the pain after doing those exercises...WOW!!! So hopefully with vicodin it won't hurt so much!!!

Well lunch is over and now its time to walk Bandit.

OH...was out last night to see if we could see any of those meteors...never saw a one!!! WTH?? Sky was clear also!!! Maybe it was to early? But I was tired and I hurt so I gave up watching. Rick stayed up and watched and he said he didn't see any either. Oh well.

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

Good afternoon Carla and everyone....

Carla.....Happy Anniversary...that is wonderful!!

Jo....sorry about the flea problem....I hope you get rid of those nasty things soon!!

Trish....you seem so quiet lately...you okay? HUGS!!!!!

Vickie....sorry Carrie didn't make it for the weekend. Have you ever given Benny those easy wooden puzzles to put together? Gracie would sit and do those and have so much fun. PBS has some great computer games for little ones on the computer. She loved playing those too. She was Benny's age at the time and did it all herself. I got her to the site and away she would go.  Just some ideas for you to get some quiet time. We also together did little workbooks for pre-school then kindergarten...we played school.....it helped her when she  started school.

Judy...so glad you got some Vicodin.....I would be lost without it!! Hope it helps your pain! I know orthopedics is expensive but I do hope you can go. That is their specialty. They can help you for sure!

I have to go shower as I have an appointment with my psychiatrist at 2:00 PM. He is so awesome....I love going and chatting with him. I have been seeing him for years.

Wishing you all a great day!! Prayers for many Off friends and families.

Love and lots of hugs to all....connie d

Hi Connie,

Sorry I've been so quiet.  I've been absolutely miserable, between the gall bladder and my sinus infections, and I hate complaining all the time about it.  I have to put up with the gall bladder for two more weeks, and I just have to accept the constant sinus problems.

I'm also discouraged because I just can't get my house organized feeling so lousy most of the time.

Colleen called me this morning, and reminded me there was a church business meeting last night, and I'm kicking myself for missing it.  I just felt so lousy, I didn't remember, and did not go.

I'm keeping my head up, because I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

My grandchildren love pbskids.org  My daughter is very strict though.  They are only allowed one hour of TV and maybe an hour of video/computer games.  They have games on their iPad that are limited.  The kids have tons of toys and games that they play with regularly.  Lincoln loves his Legos, Lincoln Logs, trains and Hot Wheels cars and racetracks.  For his birthday, he got a scooter, he rides his bike without training wheels, two games, Trouble and Hungry Hungry Hippos, books galore, and a Spiderman remote control motorcycle.  Speaking of books, my grandchildren must have over 100.  Plus, now at his age, she reads chapter books with each of them.  She has already read two or three Laura Ingalls Wilder books to Isabel.  I'm not sure what she's reading with Lincoln.  Being a Reading Specialist, she knows all the levels of all the children's books out there.

Hugs,

Trish
