Wide Awake -- Wish I Were Sleepy
Good Morning. It's very early here and I'm wide awake. WIDE AWAKE. Feel like I slept the whole night through but I know I'll be tired later. (sigh)
How are you?
Got my hubby's TENS unit yesterday and he tried it last night. He felt that it helped prevent neck and shoulder tension. It was $158 including the unit, extra conductive pads, and pad cleaner spray. Not bad. Especially if it helps prevent or relieve migranes.
It's quiet in our house. Actually, I like the early hours of the day. I drank a cup of black tea last night -- wonder if that's why I feel totally awake. That's the first cafeine (sp) I've had in months and months. My pouch can't take much of the real stuff any more so I usually have decaf coffee.
I'm thinking of all the old timers who used to visit OFF and hope that everyone is OK -- that they're just busy living life and that's why they're not posting. We miss you guys and look forward to hearing from you whenever you're visiting OFF and feel like saying hello.
Take care everyone. Have a great day.
Cindy P.
Good morning OFF friends
Cindy I am awake way to early most mornings also. I hear the first birds start chirping! but though I whine about not sleeping I usually feel decent if I get several hrs rest and my 2-3 hrs sleep! Just not a sleeper. DO hope you feel good all day. I also hope the machine helps your hubbys migraine those are not fun. The preventive med I am on seems to work miracles with mine. I know it doesnt help lots of people.
Steve is working a lot of hrs so we are kinda moving between home and a small rustic campground just a couple mi from his job we leave the motor home there and just pay the nights we spend there . break for him and nice for me thanks to the generator. Owners are nice folk.
Prayers going up from our house to all friends here and absent! have a blessed day
Morning, Cindy and Jo, and all my OFF sistas!
Ahhh, the peace and quiet of an empty house! Remind me never to take it for granted again. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening "off" last night.
Okay, I officially have the sweetest husband in the world. I had to write to him yesterday and tell him about hitting the raccoon and messing up the car and he wrote back for me not to worry about it. He said, "Papaw fix it", which is what Benny says about anything and everything around here. I don't know what I did to deserve that man, but I'm grateful for him daily.
My daughter Carrie passed her 3rd year oral exams yesterday and is now an official Ph.D. candidate at Baylor University. So proud of her I could bust! Also, she is down to 209 this week. Just 10 more pounds to go til one-derland! Life is going well for her right now.
Going to get my hair cut in just a few minutes and I'm going to tell her to take it all off! Ugh! Between the heat and humidity, I am tired, tired, tired of dealing with my crappy hair. No matter what I do to it, by noon it just looks like sh*t. Enough. I'm going super short with it this time, and if I don't like it, well, it will grow back, right?
Got to tell y'all this little deer story. I've been watering the grass just enough to keep it going in this dreadful heat. So yesterday I decided to water the side yard (which is pretty much a straight hillside). I turned on 2 sprinklers and almost immediately the mommies and babies came running to play in the water! Oh, they enjoyed cooling off immensely. It was so sweet!
I've been listening to this series of books I love (Outlander by Diana Gabaldon--really excellent!) on my phone. I joined that Audible.com a few months ago. I get one free book each month. So I've been waiting and waiting to be able to download Book #4, and I finally got it around 10 p.m. last night. Then I stayed up until 2 a.m. listening to it! Oh, I am an idiot. I am dragging my g-ma butt around here this morning, wishing I had that 4 hours of sleep back!
Well, I'd better scoot, as Trish always says. Check back with y'all later.
Love you all!
Good afternoon Cindy and everyone.....
Cindy....so glad your hubby is getting relief from the TENS unit. I sure use mine a lot. My insurance company paid for mine thank goodness!! I too wish the others would come back...they sure are missed!
Jo....I can't imagine making it through a day with only 2-3 hours of sleep. My body needs at least 8 to function. It is so nice that you can camp out by your hubbies work site. It sounds like the people that run the camp are really nice people.
Vickie....a nice short haircut will feel good with all the high temps you have around there. I am sure you will look really cute in a shorter cut!! So happy that you enjoyed your quiet night and now a quiet morning. You really needed this!! Yes...you really do have a wonderful hubby...I wish there were more like him around! I think it is cute that he said"Papaw fix it"...awwwwww!!!! Please congratulate Carrie for me. So happy she passed her exams and also that she is almost to onderland!!! She is doing an amazing job with both!!
I actually had a really good nights sleep last night. I feel refreshed this morning!!! Nothing much planned today. I need to run to the grocery store to pick up some fruit. Pam took me to my storage unit to get some things and then to the drug store to pick up things I needed. I was so worn out after the drug store we had to come back home. I sure have a ways to go to get my energy level back up. That is okay because my neck is feeling so much better!!!
Wishing you all a wonderful day!!! Prayers for many in need and special requested prayers as well.
Love and many hugs to all...connie d
Vickie...thanks so much. I too will be glad when all the pain is gone. At least the back and neck pain. I still have arthritis and Fibromyalgia to deal with but this should make them much easier to deal with.
I will be so happy when my energy comes back. This has been a horrible year for me. I want to feel like doing something again.
Hope you are having a good day!!
Love and many hugs....connie d
Hi Cindy and my OFF family:
After struggling for a while to get to sleep because I was too warm (with the air on), I found my fan and put it on. I was worried about Juliette reacting to the fan ... she went all around it, sniffed at it, didn't try to put her paw in it, then laid down in front of it. Guess she was warm too.
I made my baked ziti last night ... forgot to put the Italian sausage I cooked the day before in it. Oh well, it was still good. When I packaged it in smaller portions to put away, I put in the Italian sausage. I saved one container in the fridge, then the rest I put in the freezer.
Anyway, I have to get in shower and have lunch. Have a good day.
Greetings Everyone,
I just got home from the Shiawassee County Fair. My feet are killing me. We got there an hour before the rides opened. So, we went and saw all the animal exhibits. The kids were so cute, petting the goats and sheep, and bunnies. They even got to pet a calf. After we had some lunch, the kids got cotton candy, and then they went on some rides. I was really surprised. Isabel went on the high swing ride. I thought she would be afraid to go on it. When she got off, she ran to Colleen and I think she was crying. She was probably frightened, but didn't want to show it till she got off. Lincoln looked adorable riding the horse next to Franklin on the carousel. Colleen took the big kids on the big ferris wheel, and Trent took them into the funhouse. All in all, they had a good time. I just enjoyed watching them have fun.
I am resting my feet for a little while. Then, I have to get into the kitchen and put some groceries away. I also have to get to work on two yarn projects. One is a baby blanket for Colleen's sister-in-law. She's having a boy in December, and the shower is the first weekend in November. I'm also making a green and white bedspread for Lincoln. Colleen wanted Michigan State colors, so I found the perfect yarn for it.
Must scoot.
Love and Prayers,
Trish
