Happy Tuesday
Hi. Hope that Maui Karen is OK. We've had big storms here and they are scary.
We've been paying attention to home maintenance this month. Had the siding and roof cleaned yesterday. Oven repair last week. Got a few more things to take care of before the wet weather starts again. Time is ticking by. Ha!
Haven't heard from hubby's urologist yet -- so that is a good sign. He said he'd call if they found cancer cells. He ordered an x-ray to document the size of the kidney stones and will do another in six months to see if they are changing size or if there are more of them. Basically, hubby is in a wait and see mode. If they don't cause him any grief in the meantime, he goes back in Jan. for the follow up appt.
We're going to ask the neurologist about the Omega Procedure that Cindi saw covered on the news last week for the treatment of migraines. Also wondering about getting a TENS machine. Lots of hubby's headaches start with the neck and lots are sinus related. I saw that Judy uses a TENS. Does it really help with muscle and joint pain? Hubby has osteoarthritis in his neck. As for the Botox, well, he's still had a fair number of migraines since the second set of injections. This Friday, will mark two weeks. Holding out a bit of hope that the injections will provide relief.
We have been enjoying sunshine this week (after the morning fog burns off). Very nice day yesterday.
Hope that the blue funk is lifting.

Hi Cindy P and my OFF sistas!
Cindy, I sincerely hope and pray y'all can find some relief for your husband's migraines! I did not know about the urologist. My husband had both bladder and prostate cancer and we are on very familiar terms with his urologist! Fortunately the bladder cancer hasn't recurred at all. The prostate cancer cells are still there and he periodically has to go on hormone therapy treatment to control them. But he's living with it and living well. That's all that matters to me!
Benny and I had a good morning at swim lessons today. After his lessons were over, we swam for awhile and had a very relaxing morning. It's just about nap time for him now, and I'm ready for a nap, too.
I tried those "menopause" pills last night. Can't say that I think they made me sleepy, despite the valerian in them. This morning I took the daytime pill with ginseng for energy. meh. I'll take the whole month's worth of pills and we'll see if they have any effect. I know herbal medicines take a while to kick in.
I'm out of news. Very dull around here right now. Love you all!
Hi Cindy and my OFF family:
My migraines start in the neck and are often weather related. I have one today and had one most of yesterday, and we had rain today. A lot of times when I have a headache, the chiro helps. I've never tried a TENS machine ... I did try one on my knee (the PT did it). I suspect I have OA in my neck, too, as I have it in my lower spine. I'm just a mess of OA.
It's my weekend and because of the headache, I'm laying low. Just going to do laundry, read and watch movies. Slept til 11 a.m. Don't even think I'll go out to get mail (I'd have to walk out in the rain). Tomorrow I have to go out for my yearly labs that I thought I was having drawn last week (although I did have my cholesterol labs drawn and they were excellent). So I have to be off vitamins today.
Didn't read everyone's post before posting so I don't know what everyone said. Sorry. A little out of it. Have a good day.
Afternoon OFF family....not sure IF using the TENS unit will hel*****t but I am trying it to see. Check with your dr see what he thinks. Got the hot/cold patch on it now and it seems to be helping today...as long as I do not move it FAST it is ok. It seems to be more in the muscle area of my upper arm.
I also have a headache today...not sure if its the weather or if its just in need of a vacation...hahaha!!!
Nothing exciting for me either so going to stop typing before the arm hurts again.
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSS
Good afternoon Trish and everyone.....
I just came home from my Physical Therapy. They said I will have this pain for another 2 to 3 weeks. There is less tissuse in the neck and a lot more nerves. I am very swollen yet....from the lower part of my head to below my shoulders. Driving was awful!! I swear if I knew it would be this bad I would have dealt with the headaches. After the PT the tenderness is back about 100%....I am not liking this! Off to bed for me!!
I do use a tens unit and have for years. I was using it on my neck before this procedure and it did help....also with my back. I will start using it again on my neck as the pain permits. One thing.....my back isn't hurting anymore!!
So sorry everyone is in so much pain. This crazy weather is kicking our butts!!
Wishing you all a good rest of the day. Prayers for many in need. Special prayers as well. Thank God Maui Karen is okay!!
Love and hugs to all...connie d
Good Afternoon Cindi and OFF Family,
I went out with Colleen and the kids most of the day. We went shopping for Lincoln's birthday present, and once he decided what he wanted most, Colleen had me purchase it surreptitiously, while she was in another part of Toys R Us, and hide it in the back of the van. I'm taking him out tomorrow to shop, and have supper.
Tonight, I'm laying low. Feverish, and nauseous. A normal state of being for me, till I get the gall bladder surgery done. I see my primary doc tomorrow morning for the nausea, and then the surgeon in the afternoon to hopefully schedule the procedure. I'm praying the date is soon. Colleen told me she hopes it's before school, so she could help me. I have a ton of cleaning to do before the surgery. I'll be able to do it after I get some Zofran from the doctor.
Not sure I'm going to watch the Phillies. I'm so disgusted with them right now, it's not funny. They played so pitifully in Detroit and St. Louis, I may give up my subscription to MLB.TV.
Must go.
Hugs,
Trish
