Tuesday Morning in Michigan

Good Morning OFF Family,

I'm finally semi-conscious, after a fitful night's sleep.

I have several errands to run this morning.  Then, some unpacking and tidying to do.

Had a nice ride here, because the sky was overcast, and my air conditioner in my car did not overheat.  Last week, that was all it did.

My son-in-law is coming over this afternoon to work on installing the central air conditioner.  I'm so grateful I was at my sis-in-law, Kathy's, during the heat wave.  She had room air conditioners in every room.  What a relief.

On the way here, Colleen and I got together with Sean and his girlfriend Sunday evening.  We all went for a swim, and then had pizza in her room.  After that, Sean came to my room to work on my laptop.

Had a difficult time at the Courtyard by Marriott in Monroeville.  Tried for an hour and a half to get the WIFI to work, so I could connect with the rest of the world.  The desk clerk kept insisting there was nothing wrong, and the Internet provider insisted there was nothing wrong.  I had been at the same hotel two weeks ago, and had no problem.  That time, I was in a room in the middle of the building.  This time, I was in the last room on the first floor.  I finally demanded a different room, and had no problem there.

Wasn't feeling well on the drive here.  Had a fever, even with Tylenol, as well as a sinus headache.  Came home, rinsed with sinuses, and yes, I'm infected, again.  I'm going to call my ENT doc after 9:00.

Prayers, Hugs, and Love,

Trish

Good morning Trish and OFF-

Trish-  Glad you were able to get home safely.  Hope you've caught the sinus thing early.  With all the heat and humidity last week wouldn't be surprised if your sinuses were aggrevated a bit, mine were.

Just finished a one hour routine of yoga using my iPad.  Found an app that lets you download routines.  I am liking them very much.  Now if I can just convince the cat that he doesn't want to do yoga with me everything will be great!  Imagine doing  a side stretch and the cat trying to latch on to your hand and you have a mental picture of this morning.

Today is Mah Jong day with the ladies.  My eyes are tired from sorting pictures so don't know how well I will do with matching patterns on the card but I'll give it a go.  Gentle rain falling today after last weeks killer storms.

Don't know if I reported that last Wednesday I had two trees fall bracketing my car on either side.  Fortunately no damage to house or car.  Neighbor came with a chain saw and cut them up.  I hauled debris to either side of my lot.  Still have two trees leaning towards house which will have to be taken down by a pro.  Also blowovers at the end of my leach field, so in total I will lose about 10 trees.  14 hours without power wasn't fun but I'm grateful that I just had to suffer through that.  Friday night we had more storms and another power failure.  I was supposed to go to neighbors for dinner, they ended up coming here because I have a gas stove and theirs was electric.

Almost done sorting the first batch of pictures for the book project.  Have about 300 more to sort.  Then I have to batch them and send them to the photographers that are going to do the selection.  Thank god my team doesn't have to make the selections as I'm sure we'd end up killing each other trying to decide.  Each photographer is going to get about 1000 pictures to go through on this first batch.  Moving forward I'm going to batch more frequently and send pictures to them each month until January when we close out the submissions.

Not much else is new here in Maine.  Hope everyone is enjoying this cooler weather in the Northeast.  Positive thoughts to all of you in need.

Good morning Trish and my OFF sistas!

Trish, glad you are home; sorry you are sick.  Does sound like you really enjoyed your trip, though.  It's always good to see family and friends.

Benny and I are having a much better day today.  He was such a grump all day yesterday!  But we all got a good night's sleep and that has made a world of difference so far today.  Potty training is all but complete.  He's so good to come and tell me when he needs to go.  He's even tried to go solo a few times.  Whoop!  Preschool, here we come!

Tonight we are meeting Chris at the Y and going swimming.  She gets off at 6 p.m. and water aerobics starts at 6:30 p.m., so that's just about perfect.  I'll feed Benny an early supper and take a snack of grapes and juice box for him to have on the way home tonight.

Yesterday I did manage to clean my kitchen.  I was able to clean all the counters, cabinet fronts, kitchen table, etc. with mild bleach water.  Sure did HELP!  I love my husband, but he is NOT neat.  He loves to putter in the kitchen, but the man never heard of wiping up after himself!  LOL!

Today I plan to start going room by room doing some deep cleaning.  Going to sweep and swiffer each floor, clean the blinds and ceiling fans, etc.  Will take me all week, I am sure, but hey, what else do I have to do?  I am definitely feeling at loose ends with no hubby and no projects and no plans.  I have to be careful when I'm like this.  I will comfort myself with food if the blue funk gets me.  So I pulled out a half finished cross stitch and I'm trying to get myself involved in that.  Wish I could decorate and paint and such, but that will have to wait for fall when Benny is in preschool.  Also have material waiting to be made into curtains, but that's nigh on impossible with a "t(hr)eenager" in the house.  Love that term!  Saw it on FB.  It surely describes Mr. Ben these days.  Demanding, sulky, and impatient!  Ha!

Had a fairly disastrous failure in the kitchen this morning.  Saw a recipe for muffins made from pancake mix.  I thought I could half it and make some mini-muffins for Benny.  Ha!  Not only did they not rise, they just WOULD NOT bake in the middle!!!  Ugh.  The deer will enjoy them, I'm sure.

Hope everyone is doing well today.  Loving thoughts and hugs for you all!

Hi Vickie....we were posting at the same time. So glad to hear Benny is having a better day. Glad the potty training is going so well. Have a great time at the Y....I think that is just what you need! Cleaning up after Butch just made me giggle. Nothing is better then a fresh clean kitchen. I can't cook is the kitchen isn't clean!! Sorry the muffins were a bust...you get an "A" for trying!!

Good morning Trish and everyone.....

Trish.....so sorry you had such a fitful nights sleep. I hope tonight is a much better night. I hope you get that AC in soon....I agree glad the weather isn't quite so hot right now. Sounds like you had a nice time with Sean and his girlfriend. Hope he got your laptop all cleaned up. Sorry to hear you have another sinus infection. Hope it clears up soon!

As for me....Yesterday Pam came and picked me up. They had a couple great deals going at two of the thrift shops in town. We got some really nice things. It sure wore me out though!!

My PT just called and has a cancelation at 12:30 today and wanted to know if I wanted to come in...YES! I could only get in to see her once this week because of her busy schedule.

Other then that I have a couple meds to pick up and plan on relaxing today.

Wishing you all a beautiful day!! Prayers for many in need.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Hi Connie,

Back in Pennsylvania there's a Salvation Army Thrift Store that has most of the clothing for 50% off on Wednesdays.  I've been able to get some great bargains there.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get there this trip.

Colleen says there's a good one about 30 minutes from here that I'd like to check out.  I love going bargain hunting, knowing my money is going to a good cause.

Hope your day's going great.

Hugs.
