Good-bye Saturday

Hello sistas!

Sorry I never checked in yesterday.  The blue funk is knocking on my door.  Getting ready to take Butch to the airport here in a little while.  It's hard to keep a positive attitude, but I'm trying.  I'm determined to send him off with a kiss and a smile.  I can fall apart after he leaves if I need to, but not now.

Benny and I are taking him to the airport, since Chris is working today.  Then we're stopping at the Sam's in San Antonio to do some shopping on our way home.  I'm hoping between Benny and the "retail therapy", I won't succumb to the blue funk.

My worry stone is definitely helping me stop snacking.  I keep it in my pocket.  Every time I think about eating some piece of junk, I dig my stone out and rub it awhile.  I figure if I keep at it, I will form the habit of soothing myself with the worry stone instead of cookies!  (I'd better keep it close at hand today!)

Today is our Debbie A's birthday.  Happy Birthday Debbie!

Hope and pray that Judy's trip is going well.  So concerned about her and her family.  Even when we know it is coming, the death of a loved one is never easy on any of us.

Well, got to jump in the shower.  So much to do this morning before we leave for the airport.

Love you all!

 Vickie

Morning all!

Thanks Vickie for the B-day wishes! 58 Today...wow how the heck did I get here? It seems like a minute ago I was turning 40! Vickie, keep rubbing that worry stone. Prayers for you and Butch that his time away from you is quick and safe.

Hugs, Debbie

Happy birthday, Debbie!  I turned 58 this year, too. Feel like about 75 sometimes with my body. You look great, btw. Have a great day.

Good afternoon Vickie and everyone.....

Vickie....so sorry you are feeling so bad. I can't blame you....I would be a mess! It is hard letting go of someone you love so much!! I am praying for his safe travels. I am also praying for you. I want you to find comfort and peace while he is away. I am always here for you!!! You are very special to me!!

Debbie......HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Wishing you a wonderful day!!!

As for me.....sorry I never got back to everyone here yesterday. I had just a horrible painful day. I took more meds and did more icing. The doctor said this happens because the neck is a much more delicate area and it was a longer procedure then the back was. I tried to sleep yesterday and only managed one hour. Last night I finally started feeling better. I slept for 13 hours. I don't think I moved all night. The swelling has really gone down and I can move my neck more freely. Wooohooo me!! Now I get to do this all over  again next Thursday. At least this will be the last of the 8 procedures. People come from all over to have my surgeon help them. He is excellent at what he does. I am very fortunate to have him where I live!!

I am just going to rest again today. Reading and napping when I can.

Wishing you all a beautiful day!! Keeping many of our OFF friends and families in my prayers.

Love and hugs to you....connie d

Hello everyone....we had a huge storm yesterday which dropped the temperature considerably and it is much more comfortable out as less humidity and breezy.

Vickie, don't let the Blue Funk get you, keep playing with the worry stone.

Happy Birthday Debbie, hope you enjoy celebrating, think I'll stop celebrating my birthday as it gets depressing adding another year to my age

Connie, sounds like you are finally getting some sleep, hope the other side doesnt hurt as much when it gets done

Am off to a BBQ late afternoon, bringing wine and local strawberries (the rest of closet and clothes sorting can wait till next week)

Vickie - Rub that worry stone until there is a hole so you can make a necklace.

Vickie - Happy Birthday

Connie - Get plenty of rest today.

What a wonderful idea.

Melanie Wirtz asked guests to her 8th birthday party to bring something on the SPCA wish list instead of a birthday gift. Today Melanie donated those items. What a cool girl! (That's lobby cat Adena checking out the loot.) Melanie Wirtz asked guests to her 8th birthday party to bring something on the SPCA wish list instead of a birthday gift. Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

So sorry you have to drive Butch to the airport today, Vickie. I know it's tough to let him go. I like the idea of the worry stone ... I have my cat. When I feel upset, I pet Juliette. She calms me down.

Last night I came home to no phone line. Still don't have one. Cable company says it's because of the storms in the area. We haven't had any storms. They're predicted, but haven't happened yet. They tell me I can't get anyone out here until Wednesday. So I'm stuck with my Tracfone until Wednesday and I have only 30 minutes left on it after spending time on it with the cable company last night (no success, didn't even get to talk to anyone) and this morning. Wasted 40 minutes. Tomorrow is Sunday, when I usually talk to mom, and she doesn't hear well when I talk on my cellphone. Since she can't get down to the basement to talk on Skype with my brother, I guess we won't talk this week.

Well, I need to get ready for work. Not much happening. Connie, glad you are feeling better. Annette, I love your granddaughter donating those toys to the shelter. What a great kid! You've set a great example for her.

Well, off to get ready for work. Have a great day.
