Wednesday Morning in Pennsylvania

Good Morning OFF Family,

I am barely awake, but feeling good this morning.  I have a good day planned.  This morning, I go see my psychiatrist for a medication refill.  Then, this afternoon, I'm planning on going swimming with my nephew at his apartment complex.  He has guest passes, and I need some exercise.

Tonight, I'm going to see "La Traviata" at the movie theater.  It seems they simulcast the opera from the Metropolitan Opera in New York.  Never knew that.  Tonight is the only showing that I know of.

I hope everyone is having a blessed day.

Hugs,

Trish

Good morning Trish and all my OFF sistas!

I'm up early, too.  Taking Patty Kate to the groomers today.  Her toenails desperately need clipping and she needs a good shampoo, too.

I find myself cuddling with my husband at every opportunity.  I just cannot adjust to the idea that he'll be gone again on Saturday.  When did I become such a wuss?  I've lived the offshore lifestyle for over 30 years.  I need to suck it up and send him off with a smile and a kiss.  I know better than to make it harder on him (and me) by whining about it.

Today is Christie's birthday.  She is 29 years old today.  But we are not celebrating until tomorrow.  Tonight she has a date with her boyfriend after work.  But she has tomorrow off, so we will make it a special day.  Benny and I are going to bake and decorate a cake for her.  I let him pick out the cake mix at the store yesterday.  Of course, he went straight for the chocolate!  LOL!  He's my grandson all right.

Connie, I did a little better with the RLS last night.  Besides not taking the Tylenol PM, I also turned my heated mattress pad on LO.  Seemed to help my legs relax.  Of course, it did nothing for my hot flashes!  LOL!  And I woke up several times during the night.  Oh, the joys of menopause.

(Having a hot flash right now as I type this.  Seems just thinking about one brings it on!)

Well, I need to slap some makeup on and get going.  Love you all!

Hello Trish and Vickie and all to follow,

Trish, a movie theatre does operas here, but on film, as a regular once a month thing....I have yet to go, although I do enjoy live opera productions best. Enjoy your live-cast of the Met.

Vickie, Butch will be back again before you know it and the snuggling will be just as good....Benny and your two daughters will keep you busy while he's gone.

Annette, thanks for the advice re lots of pillows, am doing much better as the incision has shrunk tremendously and has a small crust on it, and breast less sensitive despite impressive purple and greenish-yellow bruises well away from the biopsy area...they sure tried their best to get samples!

Another sweltering day here, more reading inside with AC, and will thin out my closet, annual chore usually done on a rainy miserable day, but today will be just perfect as an "inside job"....

Today is a better day for me, wishing you all a better day today!

Good Morning Trish and OFF-

Trish, didn't know they did simulcast of opera, I would like to see that.  I could go to the opera while in Houston in the winters but haven't pushed that envelope yet.  Maybe this winter.

Vickie, is the RLS due to not going to water aerobics.  I find that if I don't have regular exercise I have difficulty sleeping.  My heated mattress pad is in Texas so can't rely on that.

Well, today I will venture to the big city of Houlton for a haircut and perm.  Haven't done anything with the hair in quite a while and I'm tired of it falling into my eyes.

It's turned wicked hot here in Maine.  I dipped in the lake the other night.  Cooled me right off and was able to tolerate the heat for the remainder of the evening.  Yesterday was Mah Jong day with the ladies.  We drove 30 minutes to the other side of the lake to play at one of the ladie's house.  These Mah Jong games are turning into a problem for me.  Despite requests for healthy snacks we're leaning towards candy, brownies and the like.  Plus some people think that Arnold Palmer light is really light.  Hoping my protein packets have arrived from Unjury today so I can go back on liquids.  I am not a happy camper at all this summer with food.  Planning to do liquids for at least two weeks and see if I can get a few pounds off.  Also upping my elliptical exercise time and yoga time.

Well, gotta hop in the shower and get rid of the workout sweat before I hit the road.  Gas prices jumped 20 cents in one week thanks to the wonderful news media.  Can you tell that I'm a grumpy cat today.

Positive thoughts to all of you in need.  Vickie hang in there, maybe after having been home for so long Butch will decide to retire after this next trip to Saudi!  Trish glad you are enjoying your trip to PA.

Morning all!

Been busy making another quilt. I'm making a SF Giants baseball memorial quilt for Michael, it's a lot of work but I think it's going to be beautiful.

Judy hope this post finds your mom doing better> Prayers for you and mom!

Vickie I also have RLS I take Mirapex before I go to bed or I cannot sleep. I had it for a couple of years and the mirapex is the only thing that works for me.

Hope you all have a great day, thoughts and prayers for all,

Debbie

I was originally prescribed Requip for RLS, but found that it stopped working after a relatively brief period of time. Switched over to Mirapex and never looked back. Works like a charm. An added benefit is that is makes me drowsy. I take before bed so that's perfect.

Good afternoon Trish and everyone.....

Trish....have a fun time swimming. I find that tiring but so relaxing too!!  Have a good time tonight at the movie theater....sounds wonderful!

Vickie...I know you will really miss Butch. I am sure Benny will too. That time will go by quickly and he will be there with you once again. I do feel sad for you as I know how much you love Butch and love having him home. Happy Birthday to Christie!! I am sure you will all have  a great day tomorrow celebrating her special day. I am so glad you are finding relief for your RLS. Now...if you could just get rid of the hot flashes!!

Jennifer....have a good time sorting through your closet. I swear those clothes just multiply by themselves!! I desperately need to do that when I do get into a place of my own.

Cindi.....I hope you like your new look after seeing your hairdresser today. It always feels so good to get our hair done!!  Our gas $$$ jumped 40 cents in two days here....thank goodness I have a full tank of gas now!

Debbie....I am sure your son will love that quilt...it sounds really nice!! Is Mirapex for RLS a prescription drug or over the counter medication?

Judy....still keeping you and your mom in my prayers.

Carla....waiting to hear more about your adventures...prayers for safe travels.

As for me...I am relaxing with a good book today. It is in the 90s again today and tomorrow. The humidity kills me! Tomorrow afternoon I get the first 1/2 of my neck block done. Praying it goes well.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!!

Prayers for so many of our OFF friends and families.

Love and hugs to all.....connie d

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

My back really feels wonderful today. I had some soreness last night in my right hip and also had a headache most of last night. Woke up with the headache this morning, but an Imitrex knocked it right out. So I feel so much better. Even my knees feel OK, although they were stiff getting out of bed this morning.

I have salsa chicken cooking in the slow cooker and coffee brewing for iced coffee. One load of wash in the dryer, one in the washer. A little bit of a busy day for me, not too much. Yesterday I didn't do much of anything but veg and nap. Watched the All-Star game and my American Leaguers won, so I was happy. Not that it will affect the White Sox at all, who are mired in last place. But I am an AL fan through and through. And my White Sox pitcher was the winning pitcher, so I was happy he did well.

It's 93 here, feels like 99. I have to go out later so I can get my car back. My boss will come over here with it, I'll drive him to work and then I have a little shopping to do. By the time he gets here, I hope my laundry is done.

Well, not much else going on. Good to see everyone today. Vickie, try taking an ice pack to bed with you for your hot flashes ... that's what I do when I wake up with night sweats. Connie, I hope your neck block works for you. Jennifer, I hope you get some relief.

Can't remember anything else. Have a good day.

Afternoon OFF family...its almost 3pm here and I still have NO PHONE or FAX!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so upset I could scream bloody murder at the next person I talk to at this idiot phone company!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom is home doing ok far as I know. Found out my cousin also known as the one I call "dad" Joke in the family...he is giving up on living I heard. I got in touch with his son that is in the Army and lives in New York. He flew in last night late and said he talked to the nurses about his dad and they told him he was ok as far as his vitals go. I guess his legs don't work for him anymore and he is upset over them. He is a BIG guy and doesn't take care of himself very well. He is also diabetic. My cousin said I should get home if I want to see him again. Soo I am going to try hard to get away even if it just for this weekend. Rick can stay home and take care of things here. I can't work anyhow without a phone or fax. Soon as my boss leaves tomorrow I am going to hit the road for home. I can't take this with my family any longer!!! They are all getting old and I NEED to see them before its too late ya know?

OK hot as hell here and I have to see whats going on outside...Rick and Jason are painting the parking lot...yeah in this heat!!!!!! SIGHS.......

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

HUGSSSSSSSSS
