 Yay for Benny!!

It feels cold this morning (52 degrees).  I had to put a long sleeved sweatshirt on.  We're all up and have had breakfast and are ready to start the day.  Going to work in the yard a bit w/ hubby.  Hope it's not too cold out there by the time we get started.  Yesterday, it was pretty windy and the air coming off the ocean was quite cool.  Hopefully, the sun will be out to take the chill out of the breeze.  And, to think that just the other day it was very warm and humid.

Hubby has an appointment with the urologist in 2 1/2 weeks.  We'll find out more about his kidney stones then.

I'm trying to line up the dog sitter so we can leave Logan at home.  It's warmer in the valley and we don't like to leave him in the car in the heat.  We can take him with us if we have to and I can stay in the car and walk him while Ron is at the doctor but I'd really like to hear what the doc has to say.

I hope you have a good day today.

Good afternoon Vickie and everyone......

Vickie...YAY for Benny!!!! YAY for you too!!! So when does Butch leave for Saude? I wish he didn't feel the need to go. I know how much he helps you with Benny. I know he is doing the right thing.

I am up between sleep sessions. Even with pain meds last night was horrible. I finally fell asleep at 11:00PM and woke up at 4:00AM. My body was fighting sleep. I slept again from 9:00AM to 10AM. This just isn't normal for me after a procedure like that. I am going to try again soon. I am so exhausted.  I just took pain meds again....hopefully that will help me rest better. Nothing else planned for today.......rest and more rest.

Wishing you all a beautiful day! Prayers for many OFF friends and families.

Love and lots of hugs.....connie d

Hooray for Benny!

I recall my nephews potty training I think we finally paid him $20 to poop in toilet rather than in a diaper.  Then for the first year we had to light a candle in bathroom before he would poop.  Oh my what a memory.

Sun is shining in Maine.  Drove to town today to get local strawberries.  Also went to grocery and bought cherries.  Neighbor just called and asked if I would like to attend an impromptu 4th BBQ.  I will go and take the watermelon that I bought along with the last of the oriental 3 bean salad I made last week.  Planning on doing protein shakes and fruit for several days to try to take off a few pounds.  Proud of myself that I resisted temptation and didn't buy a small bag of kettle chips or a cupcake while in town.  Trying real hard to improve my habits and get out of the blue funk.

Connie- sorry your sleep pattern was disrupted.  Do they give you any kind of conscious sedation when you have your back injections?  I had wicked insomnia two weeks after my hysterectomy.  PCP thought it was the sedation that caused it or the allergy pills with decongestant or combination of both.  Hope that you'll get good pain relief from these treatments.  I know how debilitating pain can be at times.

Eileen- sorry you have to work on 4th.  Your salsa chicken sounds good.  Maybe one day you could post it.

Friends have been posting recipes on Facebook recently.  There are two that I'm going to try.  One is a lower fat pimento cheese recipe using light cheddar and greek yogurt instead of mayonaise.  The other was an oven baked chicken breast that is coated in parmesan and greek yogurt.  Both sounded yummy so I'm going to try this over the weekend.

Tonight may be steamed clams unless my friend who sold her camp decides she wants to go to dinner.  If not I'll have the clams tomorrow or Friday.  I think they will last til then.  May just cook them up tonight to be on safe side and keep in frig till ready to eat.

Positive thoughts to everyone.  Judy - hope the 4th picnic/BBQ is not rained out and a success.  While it's hard dealing with older tenants you are providing a needed service to the community, something I'm becoming more aware of as I deal with my mother.

Happy 4th of July!

Cindi
