Monday morning blahs!

Morning sistas!

My sweet hubby is up and gone to Houston for his return-to-work exam with the company doctor.  Sigh.  I just know he's going to be gone soon and already the blue funk is trying to get me.

It's wonderfully cool here this morning.  Benny and I spent an hour out on the front deck, enjoying the morning.  It's my favorite place to wake up.  The view of the lake and the hills is so calming and I love hearing the doves cooing and my little hummers buzzing about.

Didn't do one darn thing yesterday but stay in my jammies and read all day. Did finally take a bath and change into fresh jammies for the evening.  LOL!

Hope everyone is doing well today.  Check back in later!

Love you all!

Vickie and OFF-

Can't think of anything to say to pep you up cuz I've got the blahs too.  House guests left yesterday and I vegged out, plus did a little unmindful eating.

My friend announced the other day that she sold her camp.  I think she's making a mistake and that someone is taking advantage of her continuing depression to buy it.  I bought a kayak last year thinking we would be kayaking this summer.  Guess I will be going solo.

Hiked with my birding friends and did a number on my right knee.  It is screaming!  Can just barely (sp) walk and had to use the cane for a while yesterday.  Mentally debating with myself about getting on the elliptical machine this morning.

Yesterday we saw the sun for the first time in 7 days.  Poured last night at least an inch of water.  My poor peonies are being beaten down.  I'm going to go out and cut them and bring inside to enjoy.  Depending on today's weather have to go out and mow part of the yard.

My yard is loaded with Snowshoe Hares.  Clearly an indicator that there are few predators in the area at the moment.  Coyotes and bobcats must have moved to other areas.  Sylvester loves to stalk the Hares from inside the house.  The other day I caught him perched on the faux stove vent hood looking out the kitchen window at two Hares in the yard!  The Hares are slowly eating my hosta garden to a nub.  I think I'm going to have to invest in some chicken wire to keep them out of the garden or a coyote decoy.

Sorry I'm adding to the downer with my mood.  Vickie I know that you are working on the blue funk, maybe Butch will have decided with this extended home time that he finally wants to retire.  The 5th wheel looks really nice.   I've considered buying one to replace the RV, problem is that I'm afraid that I wouldn't be able to handle it from the perspective of hitching up and driving safely.  Oh well!

Positive thoughts to all of you in need.  I'm hoping that good things start happening for Trish, Connie, Nan, Annette and little Morgan!

Okay, Cindi, we're just gonna have to prop each other up!  We can't fall prey to the dreaded blue funk!  LOL!

Yeah, I think the 5th wheel is gonna be great fun.  IF we ever get to try it out!  Grrrr!  Really want to make a short trip in it to try it out, but it looks like it will have to be in August.  Even if Butch doesn't have to fly out by the week's end, it's 4th of July and I just know all the places will be booked up for the holiday.

And I tell you, I don't think I could handle hooking it up all by myself either!  It's pretty intense.  It does have its own braking system, but I haven't tried driving it yet.  Butch did and he said it worked fine.  He'll have to get comfortable with it first and then teach me how to do it.  I'm usually our driver when we take trips.

Sorry about your knee!  Ouch!  Just stay off it for today.  The grass can wait.  So can the elliptical.  You need to rest your knee so it can heal.

Chin up!  Text if you get desperate to comfort eat and I will do the same, okay?

Vickie-

I got my butt in gear and did the elliptical which seemed to help break up the crud in the knee joint.  I'll pass on the mowing for today.  Doing laundry and playing silly computer games.

Call a state park like Canyon Lake, you never know they might have a cancelation.

I meet so many women who have not learned to drive the RV or the truck in my travels.  I tell them that they are cheating themselves out of the pleasure of learning a life skill.  Also who takes over if their partner gets sick suddenly.  I met a woman at a driver safety class that had to drive her husband to meet the ambulance when he had a heart attack while driving.  So once Butch learns the little idiosynchrosies of your rig learn to drive it.  We are WOMAN, hear us ROAR!    Thanks for the offer of a prop up.  I'm doing better today on the eating and most of the "binging" was healthy.

Ack!  I lost it.  Benny cried and fussed for an hour before going down for his nap.  I didn't cry, but I did eat chocolate.  Now my tummy hurts, so why do I do it?  I think it was Pogo who said, "We has met the enemy and they is us!"  I'm such a dummy.  Got to try hard not to do that again.

Hey Girlfriend you could've texted me.  You need to seriously consider getting some help with Benny from a rentateenager if Butch goes back to Saudi.  Hang in there and text me if you have another urge.

Well, I tell you, it was like a knee-jerk reaction.  I ate that chocolate before I ever really even thought about it.  I was feeling very sorry for myself and reverting to old habits.  Sigh.  I pulled it back together for the rest of the afternoon.  Fixed baked chicken, pinto beans, cantaloupe and watermelon for supper.  Let go . . . go on!

Morning all!

Well it's just plain hot here...106 today and 109 tomorrow!! Yuck I hate it when its this hot. Went to Carmel for the weekend and it was beautiful, 75 degrees and sunny. Our friends live on the beach and I love listening and watching the ocean. Ate too much junk need to get back to basics.

Hope you all have a great day, thoughts and prayers for all.

Debbie
