Lyrica

Good mornin' ya'll.

i know it's been a long time since I posted. Been busy. Been to OR twice, and going back in Sept and Oct.

I wonder if anyone here is taking Lyrica and what strength? Are you having weird  side effects?

My DH started taking it about a week ago. 100 mg twice a day. His legs are so wobbly he can barely stay upright. He is using his walker in the house. Last night about 2 he called for me to help him. He had been to the bathroom, made it back as far as the vanity and was leaning on it. By the time I jumped out of bed and got to him ( about 5 steps ) his legs were buckling and he wound up on the floor. He was able to crawl to the stool at the end of the bed. We got him sitting up on it. Then he got dressed and spent the rest of the night in his desk chair. When this started we thought it was a temporary thing. He is cutting down to one pill a day and will call the doctor tomorrow.

I just wondered if anyone else has had this problem.

Nope, never tried that one; I am on Gabapentin, which is an older form of Lyrica and have never had any side effects except some fogginess sometimes.

My brother used Lyrica for awhile for his neck pain but never had any issues with it other than sleepiness.

But I agree with Judy; call the doctor. If he can't walk, that's a serious side effect.

Carolyn....I don't know much at all about Lyrica. I hope you contact a doctor right away about your husband's side effects. I am concerned as I know you are too.

Please let us know what the doctor has to to say.

Prayers, love and hugs....connie d

Hi Carolyn!

Sorry to hear about your husband's problems.  I hope the doctor can solve it.

So glad to hear from you again.  You are missed here!  Did you ever call the OCC in Mex?  We did list you as our referral for Carrie's surgery.  I hope you were able to get your free adjustment.

Don't be such a stranger, okay?

Thank you everyone. My husband's doctor told my DH to stop taking the Lyrica. He basically had already done that. He is now walking without his wobbly legs! He will go see the doctor later in the week. Maybe something else will work for him.

yes, I have been to OCC. i now have the gastric sleeve AND a lapband! I have had four fills and I think I now have pretty good restriction. I am using my treadmill daily and losing slowly.
