Been flooding here like crazy since yesterday off and on!!!!!!! This is crazy and needs to STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tenants calling me now asking if they need to fill out a work order for us to stop this water from coming close to their doors!!!!!! HUH???????? How do we stop mother nature????????? I even yelled out the door at one time for her to STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it didn't work!!!! I even called my mom in Michigan and asked her to stop sending their weather this way!!! That didn't work either!!!!!!! I don't know what to do!!!!!!!! The rains com and that come HARD and FAST!!!!!! It runs out of the farmers field and into our parking lot and that fills up and so does the drains and then it comes up into our yard and near our doors....into our doors if the rain/wind is right...OMG!!!!!!!!! Also had hail today...nice. Had some siding come off one unit. Nice. Another the gutter is hanging in the middle and they now have a waterfall. Nice. Nothing we can do to stop mother nature!!!!!! She is a wicked woman right now and she can't be stopped once she gets a move on!!!!!!!!!!

So just wanted to let you all know we are doing ok...thinking of getting a scuba suit and tank for me...water wings for Bandit...Shih Tzu's can't swim...they sink!!!!! rick...well he can swim...I can't can't...I can't even float!!!!!! Nope not me! Not in that yucky water!!! EWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

So that is it for me...

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!!!!!

Judy and OFF-

Judy know exactly how you're feeling.  We've had continuous rain for the past five days.  I have house guests who want to be outside bird watching.  They have rain gear, I do too but I'm not a fan of standing in the rain trying to see birds in trees.  They're off by themselves birding and I'm enjoying solitude.  I like the idea of scuba gear that would be a doable idea for me and useful when I finally learn how to kayak my kayak.

Got a shock the other day.  My friend who lost her husband four years ago called to announce that she had sold her camp.  So who am I going to kayak with now.  She's been struggling with the loss of her husband for the past four years, I understand that but she needs to deal with her grief.  She built a house they had planned to retire into after his death, sold it for a loss, bought a town house kept it a year and sold it for a loss then purchased a beach cottage to live in.  Spent way too much money on the cottage and needs all sorts of repairs and improvements to be liveable in the winter.  Now she's sold the camp.  I'm worried about her, know I can't do anything to help her but be there for her but it's still weighing on my mind.

My Mom went to a neurologist yesterday.  Have to call her to see how it went and what he said to her.  I hope that he might have found a neurological reason for the rapid decline in her vision.  I know that we can't stop macular degeneration but perhaps there is a treatment for the lack of pupil dialation which makes the vision worse.

Oh well, that's all from rainy and foggy Maine.

Positive thoughts to all of you in pain, stress and/or need.  Hope Mag is okay with all that heat out west!  Connie hope something opens for you soon.  Vickie hope you're resting a bit but know  that you're probably running around like a Energizer Bunny!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks Cindi...this weather is just getting on all our nerves and more is coming again today they say...sighs......not sure where the tenants brains are in this at all!!! Kind of funny but at the time its not! My son last night suggested we blowup our air bed and use that to float around on next flood!! LOL Might as well make a party our of it...just wi**** wasn't contaminated water....

Sorry about your friend...is she seeking any kind of grief therapy? Maybe she should look into that. So sad!!

Prayers for your mom!!

Judy-

Wish she was in grief therapy but she's avoided that since he passed away.

Sure the farm fields flooding and swamping the parking lots are due to the ground being saturated.  Maybe complex owners would spring for some straw bales and sand bags to try to divert the run off away from buildings.

I'm in charge of road maintenance here in Maine.  Usually we grade the road 3 times a year, Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.  Didn't do the 1st grading until a week ago.  Now with another week of rain the road is pot holing up again.  I'm sure I'll hear about it from all my "grateful and appreciative" road neighbors.

Mom's visit to neuorologist was uneventful.  She wasn't impressed.  He basically bounced her back to her PCP but did recommend a pressure test on her carotid arteries.  We'll see.

Not sure what the problem is with the owner and the farmer...been happening for years I heard...GRRRRRRRR anyhow the farmers field is higher ground than we are also. Sucks!!!! Don't see sand bags or straw bales either in the future...sighs...

Had more rain but not hard or heavy...YET.

Sorry about your mom's visit to dr. Seems when they get to a certain age all some dr's do is bounce them back and forth!!!

Wow Judy.  That's crazy.  We haven't gotten near as much rain here in my part of Michigan.  Sounds awful.  Your tenants don't seem to understand nature.  When I read what your tenant asked of you, my first thought was "Clueless."

How is it you never learned to swim?  I've loved swimming as long as I can remember.  I made sure my children could swim, because my mother-in-law has a built in pool.  My grandchildren are getting swimming lessons from their grandfather.  He has a built in pool, and is a certified swim instructor.  Izzy is a water baby.  She's swimming very well, at six years old.  Colleen want to continue the lessons during the winter.  I hope she does.  I had swim lessons at a public pool as a kid.  So did my kids, at the YMCA.

Again, sorry to hear about your flooding.  Hang in there.  Hugs,

Trish

My dad tried to teach me when I was little and I never trusted him or anyone else for that matter!!! Even in school and had it in gym...nope never did it there either!! I am scared to death!!!!! Leave me alone in the water!!!!!!!!

We are supposed to have more nasty weather again today...sighs...NOT looking forward to it at all!!!

Judy this isn't Michigan weather, so you keep it down there in Ohiomail

It was flooding so bad a couple days ago, it washed down our road and left it one lane in some.  Over at the daughters, the water came off the farmers field and another guy's pond and poured over the road and totally washed it out.

It has been horrible here!  I have never seen so much hail either.

You are right that we sent some on to you. But the first few days it was Detroit and lower and we don't count themmail  But, know you have to blame it on others as we finally made it all day without any of those awful storms.  I worked on the pool all day for the first time without worrying about lightening striking.
