Good afternoon everyone..

I guess with the holiday no one is posting. I am sure everyone is celebrating Father's Day with their families. I hope everyone is having a fun day!!

We completed the move out of my sister's yesterday....what a relief that is!!

I took Pam to get her meds and we each picked up a few groceries. Now I am planning on relaxing the rest of the day!! Pam isn't feeling well.

Wishing you all a beautiful Sunday!! Prayers for many in need.

I will try to check in later.

Love and hugs to all.....connie d

Hi Connie and all my OFF sistas!

Home at last!  I seem to do more traveling these days.  Mom and I made the trip down here to Canyon Lake from Waco with no problems this morning.  I sure am glad to be here.

Oh, Connie, I am so happy for you!  Hip hip hooray!  I hope you will be able to relax a bit more now that you don't have the burden of dealing with the move and your sister.  Now I just know that something good is going to open up for you soon.  Keep the faith!

I had a great time in Waco with Carrie and Mom.  Carrie and I got our nails done together before the bridal shower, which is always a treat.  There are some pics of the bridal shower on FB if you want to peek.

She got a good report on her kidneys from her doctor, which was a great relief!  My poor child has been dealing with kidney stones for at least 10 years.  But now that she can no longer drink sodas, esp. diet coke, we are hopeful she won't have them any more.  She is down from a size 22/24 to a size 20 and is looking so pretty!  She is still having a bit of trouble figuring out what she can and cannot eat, but she is trying very hard to be compliant.  It's just a time period of trial and error that all WLS patients have to go through.  She is going to be maid of honor in her friend's wedding the first weekend in August, and I convinced her pre-surgery to order a size 18 dress.  She was skeptical, but now she is glad she did it.  I have no doubt she will be in a size 18 in another month.

Mom will be here with us for the next full week.  Benny's birthday is on the 24th, but we're having his party on the 23rd.  I have lots to do in prep this week.  Not only for the party, but for some more out-of-town guests we will be having next weekend.  We'll be having a swim party at Landa Park, so we'll be packing all the food and things in with us.  I'm making a dinosaur cake, and dirt cups, and dino sandwiches, etc.  Also want to have some snacks and things, but they will all have to be very portable.  Juice boxes and bottled waters and some soft drinks will have to be packed in also.  I'm going to have to be very, very organized!

So, big week ahead, but lots of fun, too.  Hoping against hope that Butch will finally get the new front door installed!!!  Cross your fingers!  (Please, God, just let him actually finish ONE project this week!  LOL!)

Love you all!

Hello Vickie.....glad you finally made it back home. Sounds like you have fun with Carrie and your mom. I am sure Carrie will at least be down to a size 18...maybe even smaller. I am so happy for her!! Sorry she has to deal with kidney stones all the time. Happy that her kidneys are good!

It sounds like you have some busy times ahead with Benny's Birthday and company coming. I hope I can get that kind of energy back!

Yes...I am so excited to finally be moved out of that place. The weight off my shoulders is wonderful!! Still praying for a place of my own soon!

Love and hugs....connie d

Hi Connie and Vickie:

I guess everyone is out doing fun stuff. Me, I'm at work. I've been so tired lately and have lounged around in bed so long, then I don't have time to get lunch before work. Well, I had to take my boss to CVS before work anyway, then he bought me lunch (we went to Fazoli's ... geez, you know one of their full portions of pasta (or at least the one I had) is 880 calories? I just ate half of mine and gave the rest to Richard because he had ordered two orders of spaghetti and only got one. I told him I wouldn't finish all of mine anyway (and I didn't ... I got a small salad with mine). It was good, but I'm glad I didn't eat the whole thing. I had whole wheat penne Romano ... very good. Very filling, though. Since I've been tracking my calories, etc., I'm amazed at how much is in things.

Glad you are moved out, Connie. Now I hope you find your own place.

Vickie, you're right, your daughter will be in a size 18 by August. I remember how fast I went down in the first couple of months. Now I'm struggling again to take it off. But I'm determined.

Well, I guess I should get back to work. Waiting for a U.S. Open story to come in. And the NBA Finals. And the final College World Series game of the night. That's all we have left. Kinda boring night. Which is good.

Have a good day.

Connie so glad to hear you are moved out.  I know you must feel so relieved.

We had a busy day.  I got up and tried cleaning up know Bill daughter would be coming over to say Happy Fathers day.  When the first came he took them to the room with the parrots that I didn't clean.  Just pulled my hair out as he had helped me clean the family room for the visit.  During the course of the day the 3 of his 4 daughters that live in state showed up.  Than my oldest came with her two children.  Finally my middle daughters hubby stopped by to drop their two boys off.  I will have them 4 days this week while parents work.

The hard part is one brought rhubarb crisp, one brought a cake;angle food with big strawberries on top wrapped in whip cream, the third brought a bag on Hershey miniatures.  My husband loves sweets.  But, guess who loves rhubarb crisp and Hershey miniatures?cool

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
