Beautiful Friday im Michigan

Good Morning Sisters,

This is a beautiful day, because six years ago today, I became a grandmother.  My precious granddaughter was born on June 14, 2007.  My life changed forever on that day, all for the good.  I remember being told that there was nothing in the world like becoming a grandparent, especially the first time you hold that little baby in your arms.  I was skeptical, and learned it was true when I held Isabel at one week old.  I would have been here when she was born, but I was still teaching.  Therefore, her grandfather came out and helped Colleen for a week.  So, today, Colleen is taking her, and her girl cousins, to lunch at a pizza place, and then to get Izzy's ears pierced.  Then, they are going back to Colleen's for pedicures and to decorate flip flips.  Plus, they are having birthday cake.

I will spend the day watching Lincoln and Franklin.  Lincoln and I will be baking cookies for he and Izzy to sell at tomorrow's garage sale.  After Frankie gets done his nap, the boys and I will take a walk.

I hope everyone has an awesome day.

Love and Hugs,

Trish

Good afternoon all.

Trish - being a grandparent is fabulous.

Vickie - glad to hear all is well with your daughter.

My head was itching so badly I couldn't sleep. Called the Oncology RN, she suggested taking it off and applying anti-itch cream. Tom & I and buzzed each others hair. What a tremendous relief to have that itching stop. Everybody was worried about the emotional impact of being bald. Oh pooh, the itching was worse. My daughter chuckled that Tom and I are beginning to look alike.

Maintaining weight is still difficult. I work, and I do mean WORK, to keep it at or above 110 lbs. My labs are good so I am making good choices. So many foods have an awful taste right now. Chinese and Italian foods are usually good, most fruits and veggie are wonderful. Different brands of water have odd tastes. Tom thinks that's nuts.

Nap time. You have a wonderful week end.

Kisses

Annette

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Glad you will be able to spend time with your grandsons, Trish. I have never had kids, just a niece and nephew, but I enjoy seeing their kids. I don't have the patience to deal with kids. But I love seeing the world through their eyes ... it's so fresh. My niece's kids, Ben and Sam, are wonderful and I enjoy seeing them when I get to ... Sam is a little comedian, Ben is so like my brother Ed (his grandfather), so good in math and analytical. It's fun seeing the differences and similarities.

I wrenched my back yesterday in the shower ... I was just stretching as I usually do and don't know what I did. I was in a lot of pain yesterday. I went home early to take a muscle relaxer and a vicodin. Today, it's a little better (otherwise, I wouldn't go to work), but my left knee hurts. I don't know if this is because I switched from cymbalta to efflexor (cheaper). But there isn't a part of the body that doesn't hurt.

I wanted to get going earlier today to get to the bank but couldn't get out of bed. I'll go before I go to work. The bank's in Walmart, so I can get a few things too.

Annette, saw your photos on FB. Cute! Your personality shines through, hair or no hair.

Connie, so glad you are getting your move done. Now, find a place of your own. I know I couldn't live with anyone.

Anyway, have a good day.

Thanks Eileen. It feels like velour. Tom's feels like Velcro.

Might you be safer using a shower chair with your knee and fibro issues? I just have a small lawn chair in mine. I feel more secure sitting than standing. Neither one of us can afford a fall in the shower.

Feel better.

Hugs

Annette, I have a shower chair I got when I had my knee surgery. Standing's not a problem now; it was before the knee replacement. But I never had the problem with the stretching before. It actually felt good. Today, I did it and it felt like it usually did: Stretching slowly in warm water and loosening up. I felt better after it. Just the knees hurt. If I ever think I need the shower chair again, I know where it is (I loaned it to mom after her falls, but it didn't fit in her tub).
